Re: For those old enough to remember. . .

  • I'm really old, when I think of the 90s, I think of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Garbage, Placebo, Lenny Kravitz, Veruca Salt, PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, etc.
    you're more 90s grunge I see ;)
I'm just older than the BSB era, I was bar hopping and actually saw Placebo play at a bar in Toronto in '96.

I have had the biggest crush on Lenny Kravitz since forever!
Same! But I much prefer 90s Lenny with dreads to 00s or present-day Lenny.
Yes!  I saw him open for Aerosmith in 2004 and was so (drunkenly) upset because they didn't have the jumbotron so I couldn't see his, umm, tight pants.

I was also very jealous of Lisa Bonet, but at the same time happy for him because how can you do better than a Crosby kid?

    FTFY ;)
  • They look familiar but I'm more from the "Pepsi blue" era. I must've been the only person on the planet who liked them. Was obsessed with the spice girls though (duh)

I blame the drugs!  The prescription ones, I didn't do drugs in the 90's, Dare Kid and all.

Must be an American thing. I was a teenager in the 90s, so I was inebriated for most of the decade.

I was just a goody two shoes aka dork who made up for it in college!

One of my roommates in Uni had a friend who grew shrooms in the trunk of his car. I had to babysit them one night, that was fun!

    Same here!
  • @short+sassy I was sad to hear about the circus closing.  I always enjoyed the show and love to watch them unload the circus train when they came to our area.  One of there last shows will be back in NY and I am debating on going, just so I can see it one more time.

I just don't understand how everyone was all, "We won't go because you abuse your elephants" and then once the elephants were gone, no one from that group went and a whole bunch of circus fans were like, "no elephants, I'm not going."  It really is the end of an era...I'm just sad that by the time I have kids they will never get to see "The greatest show on Earth"

And really the "abuse" was, it's wrong to have wild animals perform for our amusement.  Which is a valid point.  I just didn't want to make it sound like they were accused of starving or torturing their animals.

Their elephants were put in a sanctuary and they will be doing the same thing with their other animals, once the circus closes.

It was a fun living arrangement. I didn't get much studying done, but the parties were epic!
