I recently got the idea to make a compilation video of my fiance's friends and family (also one from me) saying why they love him, their favorite memories and marriage advice for his wedding gift. One of his friends came up and told me that he didnt think it was a good idea because it would be a gift, technically, from all of the people in the videos and not from me. Have any of you girls done this as a wedding gift and did your husband like it?
Re: Wedding gift-bad idea?
Firstly, these boards are not all 'girls'. And not everyone is in a heterosexual relationship.
But honestly, how many times do you actually think he is going to watch it? I don't think it is bad, but I do think it is a lot of effort for not much return. I see where the friend is coming from- giving marriage advice is to both of you not just him. And a video of friends and family saying they love him would be more of a birthday than wedding gift. In the age of snapchat, and easily sent videos, do you really think he is going to sit and watch this a lot?
Why not have one of those books at the reception where people can write down marriage advice if they want to.
