Wedding Woes

Friday

Backing up a little

Wednesday was ok with MIL.  I didn't kill her.  I did side eye sFIL making a plate for lunch and instead of sitting to eat with us he took it out to watch the Andy Griffith show.  I also had to check myself when she asked about my "little job" and "all my free time."

Yesterday- While waiting for my doctor appointment I was putzing around facebook.  That's when I find out BIL's wife's dad died.  Apparently around the same time BIL was leaving a lawyer's office with his wife's 21 year old son.  Son and 17 yo baby mommy split up and they were just making a coparenting plan.

Doctor found no fibroids and only one small cyst.  It's right before my period so the uterus walls were very thick.  He wants to repeat right after a period to make sure nothing is hiding.  My C-sections scars were very pronounced and apparently could be part of the problem of spotting mid cycle.  If the second ultrasound is clear my options are bc pills, an iud, or some pill taken during my period that's still pretty new.  I really don't want any hormonal bc.  I'm not a candidate for ablation due to my csections.

A little further back, gMIL (92) found a mass on her lung two weeks ago.  Today we find out biopsy results.

DH's transition is a shit show

It's stormy.

Is it happy hour yet?

Re: Friday

  • With a week like that it's always happy hour @6fsn

Cleanjng, purging, packing. Which is probably what I'll be doing to the next two weeks.

Another random packing wuestion; what did you all do with jewelry from ex's? Like nice stuff, but stuff you don't wear and don't really want? It's too nice to throw away, but not sure what else to do. Thoughts?
  • My goodness, you have a lot going on today!  Vibes for good results from your second ultrasound.  Also, vibes for a clean biopsy for gMIL.

Packing this weekend, and Wooz has a birthday party.  I'm thinking of taking the kids to the pool after work/school/camp and just ordering a pizza.

My brother is officially a UK resident.

(It took me like 5 tries to post this, stupid Knot.)

Gah @6fsn, that's a lot of crap to deal with.

When do you leave for England, @Heffalump?

Let's see...After work, we're going to Costco and eating dinner there.  It's the cheapest dinner out I can buy for my family.  ;)  And we are low on all.the.things since we haven't been to Costco in about a month.

Tomorrow, we're going to FIL's.  SIL is still in town and will be at his house.

Sunday, chill day and maybe we'll start getting stuff ready for camping the following weekend.

Seriously Costco pizza is better than anything else we have out here.
  • @6fsn Jeez rough week :(
my mum had scar tissue caused by me and she didn't have csection {I had wide shoulders and bigger than my mum could hand AND I came out sideways. I am the reason I'm an only child, oops!} Hopefully the dr's have a game plan if it's just scar tissue and can ease some issues you're having :(
    Healthy vibes all around!

@charlotte989875  I have a not-so-secret love affair with purging. M hates it lmao
I never received jewelry from ex's but I have stuff I generally never wear for one reason or another. If you wanna keep it, maybe get a nice jewelry box or something to show it off. That way if you want to wear it, it's available but if not it still is nice.

@Heffalump  congrats to your brother! The wedding is coming up soon too, are you excited?

Not much last night. Did groceries, M talked to pharmacist about nico patches. Still cheaper than what he's spending now!
My mum said she may have some patches, but she's checking to see if they're still good.
Had to stop at another grocery store because they sell really good salmon. Unfortunately I had to go through the cash of a girl I use to be friends with - long story, but it's just annoying and I have no use for her - so I had to play nice.
M asked why I had to play nice. Well this girl likes to run her damn mouth, and despite the fact she is turning 32 this year she acts like a fucking teenager .... I have zero patience for that.

    Anyways!
Tonight is my massage. Indian Head Massage specifically. I'm curious on what it's like, and as long as my knots get dealt with I'll be happy lol
  • Tonight is K's family 4th celebration.

I *think* I told you guys that K wasn't out to Grandma G, who is apparently a holier than thou bigot (some stories:  Grandma G apparently had a 21 year affair with the next door neighbor b/c Grandpa [who has passed] was a traveling salesman.  When I say affair, the family photo album is full of pictures of Grandma G and Uncle G traveling to Africa and the like, with Grandpa no where in sight b/c he wasn't there.  It'd be rather astounding if it wasn't irritating).  I was refusing to go to family celebrations with Grandma G where I was going to be passed off as K's "roommate".  I have mixed feelings about doing that.  I wasn't trying to force anything; I also don't want to have to pretend K is just my friend when I'm out with her family.  Well, apparently K's mom got real pissed off about something w/Grandma G, asked K if mom could out her, K gave permission (this whole part is weird to me, but whatever works with their family dynamic), mom outed K to grandma and it...hasn't gone well (stereotypical religious bashing and stereotypical comments about babies and gross).  So, it remains to be seen if Grandma G will be there or not.  I have promised to charm the everloving hell out of her is she is.  I was raised by my grandparents, old people are easy.

Then we're out of town tomorrow to visit my favorite aunt, then drive the rest of the way to a roller derby game for K on Sunday, and back home.
  • It's FRIDAY!

Work is looking busy and I have one client who is asking for something that should really come from her.   It's putting me in a seriously awkward position and taking the time to help is something I don't really have.   I'm not really pleased.

This weekend is Sailfest and Saturday night the local casino sponsors a really great fireworks show.

MIL was in the ER Wednesday night with bloodpressure / heart related issues.   She's going to see a cardiologist next week and I hope things are OK with her.
  • Side note: I had a wedding bitch fest because my mum's friend who is getting married in September {we now have 2 weddings to go to!} is a fucking shit show now.

Originally she had her exSIL {they're still friends} and 3 friends {my mum included} as wedding party. Well due to money, she can only have 2 people in her wedding party and not everyone is invited to the actual wedding.
M and I recently got the invite and I know the only reason why we're invited is because M is gonna drive my mum and another lady there.
    Whatever

Anyway's the exSIL wants to throw a shower for bride-to-be. In theory, that's fine BUT she doesn't live in the city so basically she called my mum and said she wanted to do this.
My mum was going to plan a girls night. Nice dinner. Maybe something else but wasn't sure because people are tight on budgets and this is last minute planning.

I was getting pissed because the one who wants to throw it can't even really help and people who aren't going to the physical wedding are invited.

    WHAT THE FUCK!
I got pissed and told my mum that she should have said "look a shower is great in theory but people have tight budgets, this is what I was thinking ...."
I'm so irked with this lady.

    /rant
  • yes, good luck @6fsn on the next test!
@charlotte989875, I wouldn't know how to answer that, because none of my ex's got me nice things :(  I would suggest ebay though?
@mrsconn23, I love costco food! and the prices.  I can't leave that place under $75 every time I go grocery shopping though.
@VarunaTT, sorry you have to be referred to as K's roommate.  That's not fair.

This weekend I have nothing planned.  And I love it!  Maybe dinner and a movie on Saturday.  the finance guy at the mazda dealership is avoiding my calls, so I may just try to talk to the general manager about getting a refund on the extended warranty I was talked into. Especially now since IL wants more money from me (read my post in chit chat URGH!) I have other questions for him too, so it would be nice for him to get back to a NEW customer!

  • @banana468  yikes! Hopefully your MIL is okay :\

@VarunaTT  friend of mine has a grandma very similar, but when his mum outed him {he legit kept telling her to tell the grandma lol} she wasn't thrilled but wasn't surprised either lmfao!
Good luck charming her though :) let us know how it goes!
  • On Costco pizza, my H and I like to get the pepperoni pizza that is inside the store.  Take it home and load it up with our own toppings, like onions/olives/mushrooms/garlic.  Inexpensive and much better than most pizza places (at least where I live).  Mmmm...now I might have to go pick one up on my way home, lol.

I keep feeling like I'm forgetting something I need to do this weekend.  But I keep racking my brain and nothing is coming up.  I hate that, lol!

Except what I might be forgetting, lol, it should be a mellow and relaxing weekend.  I need it after my last one...which was fun, but busy.

Supposedly the tenant we're evicting is moving out on Sat.  But then, he was also supposed to allow us to do showings in these last two weeks but has never responded to our texts.  That would busy up our weekend getting the unit ready if he actually leaves, but we're pretty doubtful at this point.

And, really, the person it benefits most to move out this weekend is him.  If he doesn't want an eviction on his record.  Which he seemed intent on two weeks ago, but then he is hardly the model for responsibility or even doing what is best for himself.  He deserves an eviction, so we don't really give a s**t.  Our eviction court date is this Monday anyway.  We just want this deadbeat finally out of our lives and get our unit back.  At this point, I can only pray there isn't too much damage because my H and I really just need to move on and put this bad experience in the past.

  • Thanks to everyone who attended my pity party yesterday. I'm feeling better today. I've got two interviews on Tuesday.

@6fsn good luck with the tests. Hopefully it's an easy fix.
@charlotte989875 how nice are you talking? Fine jewelry - diamonds, rubies, etc? Nice costume jewelry? I would definitely not suggest eBay because they always tend towards the buyers in disputes. You can send the item and they buyer say they never got it and eBay will return their money. I'd try a local jeweler or a BST on facebook.
    @MissKittyDanger enjoy your massage.
@VarunaTT I'd have a hard time being around Grandma G. Don't come at me for what YOU perceive as a sin when YOU have also sinned. I'm not religious, but even I know that the god she believes in doesn't put more weight on one sin than on another. I'd be like, "7th Commandment bitch!"
@short+sassy I hope your tenant didn't wreck your unit.

We've got nothing going on this weekend which is good because the rest of the Saturdays this month are booked. H said again this morning, "No excuses. I'm not going to be lazy this weekend." We'll see.

Anyone shop on Zulily? Did you see the Bigmar Key Pendants? I have a Pinterest board called Crap Zulily Sells, this is going straight on it.
  • @DrillSergeantCat  Glad you're feeling better and vibes for Tuesday!
I've ordered from Dresslily but not quite the same place, same idea though.

Have you been on the Wish app?
  • @MissKittyDanger yes. I love wish. Seriously...go look up these Bigmar Key Pendants. You deserve a good WTF?

  • @MissKittyDanger yes. I love wish. Seriously...go look up these Bigmar Key Pendants. You deserve a good WTF?

WTF! I could make that shit lmao!
  • @6fs with a week you have had:

    Go for the happy hour.

@banana468 - hope your MIL is doing okay.

@VarunaTT   wow.    Got to love old hypocrites.

Today I have an eye doctor appointment.   Ugh.  I HATE all the contact options they offered me last time.   There are just not a lot of options for optometrist in my small town.  Lucky he has a new doctor working with him and I'm seeing him today.  Hopefully he will listen to me better than the other guy.

Tonight I work.  Tomorrow another 7 mile hike, then working a private party.  Working right through Thursday.

So DH has a friend coming into town next week.    I asked my boss for one of 3 days off in order to hangout with said friend.    He gave me Friday.   DH just told me that Friday he has J golfing at the club.      So, I contacted my hiking friend and we are going to do a 14er instead.    :)

    LMAO!  I love it.  :D
  • @DrillSergeantCat, TWO interviews?!?  Yaaassss!  Good luck on them.

@charlotte989875, if it is just nice costume jewelry, I'd try to sell it locally on Craig's List, FB, or one of those LetGo type apps.  If that doesn't work, I'd just give it away to a friend who might want it or a Goodwill.  Perhaps the same with real jewelry but, to save time and effort, I'd probably just see about selling them at a pawn store.  Though you won't get anywhere near their value.

However, if I like a piece of jewelry, I don't care who gave it to me, lol.  I'm wearing a sapphire and diamond ring right now that an ex gave me years ago.  It's not nearly as fancy and ostentatious as that sounds, lol.  But it's a dainty, pretty ring that I really like.

@Heffalump, oooohhhh...I didn't realize the wedding was already coming up!  I can only imagine it must be a whirlwind of excitement and activity getting ready for the trip.

  • Congrats on your two interviews, @DrillSergeantCat! Also those Bigmar pendants?! WTF!!!

I am home resting today. Spent last night in the hospital because of a bunch of symptoms related to high BP & they were concerned about the possibility of a seizure. They told me the closer I get to my due date the higher the likelihood that this will happen again, and if it does they'll want to keep me in for longer or induce me depending on how many weeks along I am when it happens. But Babypants is doing really well which is great news!!
  • @short+sassy Yep! Same company, different departments.

glad the baby is doing well.  Take it easy!

  • @sparklepants41 it's a boy, right? They don't know why, but boys tend to cause mom to have higher BP. I'm glad you and sparklebaby are doing well.

She's a girl - but my high BP is from PTSD.

Scary but glad you 2 are doing well :)
BP is one issue that my dr hasn't been concerned with, despite my anxiety and other issues. Sorry to hear you have PTSD though :( not fun

It's like fine jewelry, and I don't really care to keep it, it's not stuff I wear but could be worth something. Maybe I'll try a pawn shop, or gold buyer? I've never really done that before.

You'll get about 1/8th of what it originally cost, but if that doesn't matter to you, then pawn shop would be quickest and easiest.

I was gonna suggest pawn shops but didn't know price points. Really? 1/8th? Damn that sounds horrible :\

Yeah. There's a 400% markup in jewelry. So that $12,000 diamond ring, actually cost the jeweler $3,000. Now we're talking about used jewelry, so you'll get somewhere between 1/8-1/4 of what you paid.
  • @DrillSergeantCat  - yay on the interviews.

Tomorrow is DH's birthday.  Sadly we are both working late tomorrow.   I decided to buy him a Harley-Davidson mesh riding jacket.   It's so odd.  I never thought we would be Harley riders with riding jackets and such.   LOL.   But I do like the bike.
