Since it's getting colder out (for some of us), my dry skin is becoming even more drier. I can't find anything that works. This could possibly be in part of my foundation too. I did buy Noxzema moisturizing cream to wash my face with (I remember it being very good in the past for me) but as far as moisturizer and foundation, I'm willing to get some recommendations.
Right now I use a "gold bond: diabetics lotion" and some organic stuff off of amazon for cream and my foundation is "missha". What do you guys swear by?

Another thing I found really helpful was to switch from a full on foundation to a CC cream. It is lighter, has moisturizer in it and keeps my skin from rebounding really bad. It's not as full coverage as a foundation but it still evens things out and takes away redness.
My go to face cream is Cetaphil with SPF. If you haven't tried it, it's awesome!
For cleansing, I use products from 100 Percent Pure. Also the Neutrogena wipes.
For moisturizing, I use Philosphy Hope In A Jar. I love it. No more dry, patchy, flaky skin!

I drink a LOT of water, which helps balance out my skin regardless if it's dry or oily.
For moisturizer, I love Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. For a cleanser, I use Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel. And my "foundation" is Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer. If I am having a breakout or an oily day, I go old school and use 90% rubbing alcohol before I moisturize.
I love that you use Noxzema - I love the way it smells! My cousin uses that because she has the same complexion as our grandmother who is almost 97 and has used it for almost as long as it has been in existence. Our grandmother didn't wrinkle until she was well into her 60s - my cousin is hoping that her use of Noxzema will do the same for her lol!

I've also recently started using Rodan and Fields daily moisturizer because my friend sells it and I've noticed a huge difference in her skin and her husbands plus she gave me free samples. I like it so far but haven't been using it long enough to really recommend it but if you know someone who sells it, I'd see if they have samples to at least try. It's way more expensive than my typical routine but I'm going to give it a shot!

@CharmedPam Find a good hydrating moisturizer. Have 2. One for day, one for night. My mum swears by Olay - I often use coconut oil at night in small spots on my skin that get dry from the wind. Clinique has a great hydrating one, but Nivea is drugstore dupe.
For day, moisturizer > primer > foundation. The primer will give your skin that extra boost.
I actually just started a new skin care routine because it's cold out. I just got Rimmel stay matte primer, and the mousse foundation {also matte}
I'm also going to be using a miscellar water to remove a good amount of my makeup. Since my chin is breaking out, I opted for sensitive/oily option.
We'll see how that works. I'm not big on using coconut oil on my T-zone since it's tempermental.
And thanks, @climbingwife, I will look into those suggestions. I used the hd before and it dried out my skin too....unless it was that with the moisturizer i was using at the time?

currently includes: irish moor mud (clarifying), 24K gold (brightening, refreshing), pumpkin enzyme (exfoliating), cucumber (hydration, refreshing), and the 24K undereye patches. I've used all of these, and i like them for different reasons. i will usually use the moor mud on my t-zone to clear it out, while i use the 24K on my cheeks. i use the 24K by itself all over or with the eye patches - skin looks amazing afterwards. the pumpkin is an exfoliator on 2 levels - there is a grit to it, so you have some physical exfoliation along with the enzymes for a chemical exfoliation. I will use this first and then usually follow up with his blue marine algae mask (may have been discontinued - it wasn't as popular) or rose stem cell mask, or cucumber mask to hydrate and refresh. after the mask, i'll moisturize with the cloud cream.
I love the cleansers too - irish moor mud and rose stem cell are my favorites.
PTR's line is available from Sephora, direct from his website, and in a limited selection at Ulta. They also started carrying it on QVC, and I've gotten some good deals on there - like on the retinol night serum. I usually buy from Sephora or PTR direct depending on promos. For first time use, i usually buy from Sephora because of their excellent return policy. They will also give you free samples of any product if you go in and ask. (good way to try out some of the higher end products to see if it's worth the splurge)
I used some of the PTR 24k sheet masks and undereye patches (24K and cucumber) on our international flights to/from Australia, and my skin looked awesome post-flight. When I want to look a little more polished, I use a BB cream and top it off with regular pressed powder. Right now I'm using a BB cream from the Body Shop and really like it.
Anything that claims to do anything but wash or moisturize my face tends to make me break out, ironically. The plainer the product, the better.
Now I must find a foundation that doesn't dry out the skin. I may go to sephora and ask someone there. Or what do you suggest? a department store instead?

To remove my makeup I use Garnier micellular water and it does a great job of removing everything.

I also second PTR and his masks. I got a kit that was $25 and had like 7 mini masks in there for you to try.
For primers I use this Too Faced one, its more on the pricey side, but as far as primers go this is the only one that I can feel my skin staying hydrated all day.

Im in a dry, cold climate and with her recommendations, this is the longest stretch I’ve gone since puberty without flaky skin.

It's super moisturizing, and cheaper on amazon.
My best creams are Cetaphil and CeraVe for my face. I alternate with Gold Bond, Eucerin, and L'Occitane creams for the body. I will also use Aquaphor with gloves at night with my hands.
