Made it to 5:05am today so that's progress! Have a dentist appointment today. B was supposed to have one at his dentist but I cancelled because they're not doing the spin brush so really it is just look in his mouth and poke around a few times while he screams the whole time. So not worth the drama or the $30.
Re: Too Early TUESDAY
Other than that, I'm great..haha. Ordered a new couch that I'm picking up tomorrow. Getting more things unpacked and organized as I go.
I slept poorly last night and needed Advil in the middle of the night. I think I am now at the age where I can be bloated after dinner and it catches up with me. Oh this is fun!
SIL's sister announced on social media that she is expecting and due in March. I noticed that neither SIL nor BIL "liked" the post so we shall see what's going on. It has to be hard knowing that they experienced two serious losses and I'm not sure how serious the sister is about the guy she's dating. I hope BIL doesn't get all santimonious as he's known to do now.
My boss' grandma {who wasn't doing well} passed
Confirmed yesterday my nana has leukemia but they're anticipating to be able to do the pills to help her.
She's staying in hospital for awhile and has to still do a bone marrow test {likely to ensure not spread much and where they're at}
Dr seems positive that she'll be okay, but it's still nerve wracking
M & I are going forward with kitchen stuff. We joke how much it's changed from our original plans.
Then - change handles, paint cupboards, paint counters
Now - replace it all!!!
We want to lift our microwave {and potentially get a new one} so we're trying to figure out logistics of where. Likely it'll be in same spot, just up - as the plug is there.
I'm just trying to ensure we still get good cupboard space while possibly taking some space out.
I can render things BUT we are doing measurements and then booking an appt with ikea
I have a really hectic day and I'm bummed about that. I'm missing some of my bank statements and might have to run around town at lunch time to get them (sigh). One of them is for my HELOC, which I have online banking for, but I can't print statements from there. The other one is a business checking account that I don't have online banking for. Last, but not least, I need my current quarter for my 401K. But I assume the only way I can get that is online, so I'll need to set up that account.
I'm also leaving work about two hours early to complete four mystery shops I was supposed to do this weekend. That was not the original plan AT ALL! But between feeling crappy anyway and nervous to go out in public, I pushed them out to today. I even tried to do one last night (gas station), but it has to be done in "daylight hours". It was dusk, almost dark when I got there. In the 10 minutes it took me to pump some gas and pick up something to buy in the convenience store, it was totally dark, so I abandoned completing it. It actually starts as a mystery shop, but then I reveal myself and conduct an audit with a lot of pictures. I didn't reveal myself, I just left. I didn't realize how dark it gets so early! It's really annoying for these particular assignments because I used to be able to hit 1-2 when I got off work. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to stop accepting these assignments, unless I can do them on Fridays or the weekend.
Oh yeah. And I need to do a pick up for my Walmart order. It's too much, y'all! It's too much! I'm trying to stay focused on "tomorrow". If I can finish my loan paperwork, get my Walmart order, and finish all of these shops...I should finally be able to relax a little and stop feeling like there is this heavy weight on my shoulder.
Welp, on Friday I figured out through various electronic breadcrumbs (me trying to change PW/delete profiles, etc), that K had been planning this all for awhile. So, I left work early Friday. Went to the bank and closed the joint account, then started drinking. It was a hellish weekend.
Yesterday, I had the garage door opener turned off, the door code changed, and the locks changed. K didn't sign the release for the lease, so technically the landlord would have to let them back in, but I don't expect the coward to show back up. I've also texted their mother (R), that she needs to come get the 95% of the shit K left in the apartment by November 30. R has responded with "ok". I actually slept a fairly solid sleep last night; K still having access was weighing heavier than I realized. I was jumping every time I heard a noise that I thought was them coming back.
I'm back at work, putting my nose to the grind to get through everything that got messed up by me being unexpectedly gone for 4 days. I'm still hurt, but I'm also disappointed and angry at them.
Sending good news vibes @climbingwife FX
@MissKittyDanger sorry to hear about your Nana. That is so hard.
Ssdd, here. I got my hopes up that we might be able to go somewhere in December because DH had to use some of his vacation time or lose it. But, sigh, it's not in the budget with Christmas, our housing lease renewing, DH wants to buy a car (until now we have always leased), and other random things. We will do a few days at a fancy hotel here on "the good beach" but I miss traveling.
Birds keep crash landing into my office window. The reflection of the tree outside my window must really be sharp today. I jump every single time it happens, LOL.
It's Tuesday, blerg.
@climbingwife, hope the meeting goes well and you can get rid of that thing very quickly. I hope it’s a speedy divorce like mine. Jan 6th - February 24th.
@VarunaTT, my heart goes out to you. You couldn’t have said it better by calling them coward K. They sound like it! Be an adult and sign the thing! Get your shit ‘n get OUT. Ugh. Vent away here.
ummmm yesterday I bought a punching bag. Guess I’m starting to box again? Can you imagine how fit and toned I’d be if I actually used the stuff?
@mrsconn23 ack! Can you put something on the window? {tape or something}
It's amazing that people can't even be bothered to help themselves. Of all people, K should be the main one anxious to get their name off of a lease for a place they are no longer living in. While I'd assume K doesn't expect you to get evicted or trash the place (nor do I, lol), as long as they are on the lease also, they are equally responsible for monetary damages.
I'm glad you got all the locks changed for your physical spaces and ended the financial tie.
Hopefully R will make arrangements to get K's stuff out of the apartment asap. But, jic, check your local laws for the time period when property is considered "abandoned" after notice has been given. I'd hate for you to throw it all out on Dec. 1st and then possibly end up in small claims court because K re-emerges shortly after that and wants their stuff back.
I'm very worried about Thanksgiving and Christmas for everyone, everywhere. It's frustrating.
@VarunaTT I'm so sorry. I hope you can find some peace soon. How awful.
Taking the little boy dog to the vet this am. He is due for vaccinations and needs an overall check, He is 12 and has gotten extremely lethargic. He has been blind since age 5.
@VarunaTT, I'm glad you finally got some steps toward privacy and closure, but sorry to hear they'd been planning for a while. That really hurts.
Just another Tuesday here. It's the worst day of a 5 day work week. I'm really missing my former co-worker. We're still texting a little, but there's some seriously stupid stuff that I'd love to make fun of with him. I suddenly feel more isolated WFH than I have during the whole of covid, but I rationally know that being in the office wouldn't matter because there's no one else that I trust enough to talk shit with.
I also have two vehicles. There have been a couple times I chose one over the other for these shops because one of them was fairly full up.
im sorry about all you’re going through @VarunaTT, especially that it seems planned
Very SSDD over here.
BFF was like, "Look, you're already doing something illegal by locking them out anyway, so just go whole hog illegal and throw their shit on the curb." We both laughed and knew I wouldn't do that b/c I'm not a crap person, but most of my friends right now are willing to come help scavenge then pack to get their crap out. I entertained a dark fantasy about driving into their parents driveway and leaving boxes, but again, I'm not an actual crap person.
I had a hard time keeping track of time this past weekend. I had fallen asleep and was startled awake, so kind of jumped. My phone said it was 7:04 and I thought I was late to work. I have one of those trundle bed couches, so I jumped again and hit the trundle part. It came unhinged and I ended up sliding across my living room floor, hanging onto the couch for dear life. When I tried to get off, it slid and hit both of my shins. (By the way, it was 7 pm on Sunday and I was convinced I had just slept through my entire day, until I confirmed it was both 7 pm and Sunday).
So basically, it was an awesome weekend.
Hubby is still sleeping in the basement - until he gets the word that his coworker had a negative test, he doesn't want to be anywhere near me. He wears a mask indoors and whatnot. And today he is working from home, so on a normal day we'd get a chance to have lunch together, but no luck because of Covid.
Saw a rabbit on a humane society website that looks SO MUCH like one of mine that I have half a mind to adopt him. It is a good possibility that this is a family member, since I know my one has siblings in the area and I don't think they were fixed. Maybe it's my rabbit's cousin!
@climbingwife - I hope your lawyer has good news and calls soon
@VarunaTT - glad you have changed the locks, closed the account and notified K's mom to get their things out. It stinks that they had been planning this for awhile and weren't adult enough to tell you.
I'm back working onsite today and like the rest of the week. They are replacing siding on our apartment building. They haven't started ours yet but are working next door and almost finished. I had to be onsite for an appointment with DH this morning anyway, so thought I'd just work at my old cube. It's pretty strange - a few people working here but most in offices with doors closed. All my things are still at my desk but I had to borrow a chair. Ours are tagged and going to the warehouse where we can pick them up and take them to use at home. After we close on the house Monday, I'll pick up mine and take to there until we move in.
Went to look at toilets and extra kitchen/laundry cabinets last night with my brother. We are upgrading to "tall" toilets at the new house. Lots of features to consider - who knew! The pantry cabinets I chose don't match the current kitchen cabinets so likely will get unfinished ones that match and have the painter finish them. Need to do a final measure on Monday afternoon. Unfinished ones are better quality so that's good but are also almost 2x the price plus finishing. I think we'll be happier with them in the long run.
Also need to pick a paint color. It will be a light gray. Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray is a contender. The other is SW Passive, which is cooler and lighter. The great room faces North and doesn't get much light so want a little lighter color. Choices, Choices!
I would do this.
"K left this at my place. They won't be back so figured I'd give you their stuff"
