Thursday!

My Chiquita is 10 today!

She just walked into our bedroom to thank us for having sex to make her alive.

How did YOUR day start?!

I have a busy day of stressful meetings and need to make a soccer ball cake.

Re: Thursday!

  • Happy 10th bday Chiquita and welcome to double-digit parenting @banana468 lol...didn't realize by 10 she'd already know how that works...they're getting smarter and smarter.

It's sunny for the first time in a week and almost Friday so my day is going well so far!
  • Happy Birthday, Chiquita! I was awaken by a dog groaning in my ear so I would take him out. Don't know what is going on with him but all week he has been waking up by 5:00. He normally sleeps until 7:00 or when ever we get him up.

Just finished working out on elliptical and waiting to facetime with my trainer. Need to finish up Christmas cards today. H ordered stamps but they haven't arrived yet. They were suppose to have been here on Monday!

@ei34 years ago a boy told her (when she was 7?) that sex is when a boy puts his penis in a girl's butt (not in my bedroom!).  I bought "It's Not The Stork" and we had a good read about how things work.
Wow. And I thought I was pissed at the 1st grader who told my 6-yr-old on Tuesday that there’s no tooth fairy, it’s your mom taking the tooth and replacing it with money (or Target dollar spot stuff as is the case here).
  • @banana468 lolololol Happy bday Chiquita and good morning parents!!! LMFAO

I was awoken to a fuck spam call. Did not answer. Angel realized I was awake so pawed at me/blanket until I moved the blanket so he could be little spoon lol
I fought so hard not to fall back asleep but warm cat makes it hard.
We have such a hard time getting out of the house on time and I'm partly thinking it's M - he could wake up at fucking 7 but if he doesn't get ready until 7:50, we're gonna be late.
True it's not a lot to do, but it's the principle of the fact.
I told him that he's gotta get it together. Some days we will have to brush the car and we do not have the time.

I’m guessing you can’t leave without him or go separately? H is a snooze alarmer and (pre-baby) this drive me insane. It’s fine if it’s just him but if it impacts you that’s really frustrating.

If we were a 2 car family - or even if I had my license or if BK was older - I would 100% just go get stuff done.
    Brush car.
    Do daycare drop off.
If 1 car family I'd swing back and get him.

M is awake, just admittedly lazy and slow in the mornings. He doesn't take long to do stuff, but he waits until the last damn minute.
Nice weather it's not a terrible issue, but with winter coming it makes it difficult.

Lol why would you swing back and get lazibones after him letting you do all the work?

    1 - I have no drivers license

2 - we're a 1 car family and he needs to get to work still - if I had my license, another car is not in our price range yet

    3 - while I'm getting ready, he does get BK half ready {timing wise it works out that way even if he did procrastinate}
half ready = breakfast, sesame muffin, out of pj's and into top and socks at least

    4 - M is an admittedly a massive procrastinator {which goes into his ADHD territory - which is a whole other ordeal some days *eye roll*}
  • Lol oh wow, @banana468 that’s funny! Happy Birthday,l to Chiquita!

I pulled the trigger and bought my cabinets & flooring today! Eeeek.  It’s real now. I actually switched from ceramic tile to plank faux wood flooring since that’s all the rage. I’m not looking forward to the work, but I am looking forward to the outcome.  Anyone want to come and help me? Anyone?  Anyone... why are there just crickets?
I would send my H over, if we lived closer to you!  He is now the master at installing wood-look vinyl plank flooring, lol.  About 4,000 square feet of it over 4 different units.  Kitchens included.  But if you all get stuck or need any tips, hit me up.

The only flooring we didn't replace was in most of the bathrooms.  I think there were 1-2 bathrooms, out of 8 total, that we needed to replace the flooring.  But we used tile for those.

Lol thanks @short+sassy!  I was thinkng of you when I asked.  My parents are coming on the 19th to help and my Dad’s done it before, so I *should* be ok.  Right now I have the peel & stick tile! (Previous owners, not me!)

The hardest and most grueling part is pulling up the old floor.  Vinyl plank is, relatively speaking, easy and quick to install.

  • Please help.
I'm planning tattoos I should not be planning lol!

I have like 6 planned and nothing booked.

Butterfly and cardinal - left forearm, near elbow
"you are my sunshine" with sun - left arm, bicep
garter tatt - probably to be done in pieces. Bow done first. Likely right thigh
green star - right side, adding to chain
    MJHS {BK's full initials} - maybe on side of left forearm? {like that part of arm between pinky and elbow}

I think 3 or 4 are being done this spring {star, cardinal and butterfly - maybe BK's initials} since 3 are going to be tiny
  • I am amazed at how much Xmas stuff you all have done already. So far, I've figured out what I want to do for our card photo (but haven't taken it yet) and ordered some candles for the windows. Hopefully we can decorate and take the photo this weekend, but I have no idea where to even start with gifts. And this is why I hate christmas; it's so stressful!

Nothing much else going on here. We found out yesterday that reorg impact announcements will happen Dec 14-16. That's so unlike my company; we historically never let anyone go during the holidays. Technically we still aren't; exit dates will be in March, but I'm still surprised by the timing. My manager and director are still convinced that we're relatively safe, but I'm stressed.
  • Happy birthday Chiquita!  When I turned double digits, my parents informed me I was now too old for birthday parties.  Good times!
The sun is shining and tomorrow is Friday - I second the sentiment that that makes this a good day!  I may go cross country skiing on Saturday if the snow stays.  I'm going to fail miserably at it, but it should still make for a fun outing.

yeah, I have no idea.  It's so silly, but it has felt like the shortest year with the longest days ever.

2020 in general, but I felt that when BK was younger.

This reminds me of something that stuck with me when BK was 1.5 months
"The days are long but the years are short"
Accurate a.f. BK is 2.5 now
  • Happy birthday Chiquita!

Tired and bored AF. But I have a Covid test scheduled for tomorrow. Hopefully I'll test negative and then I can visit my mom at her rehab center.

Saw this in my paper a bit earlier...in case anyone I’d interested in where they stand.  (I’m only behind 135.7 million people nationally😝)

Cool!  What an interesting survey.  Here are my results.  I'm cutting in line way in front of you, @ei34, lol.  Which REALLY isn't a good thing, overall.  Because "thanks being an essential worker forced to go to the office every day" and "thanks having Type I diabetes".

Based on your risk profile, we believe you’re in line behind 23.0 million people across the United States.

When it comes to Louisiana, we think you’re behind 342,000 others who are at higher risk in your state.

Wow on this stat!  And in Orleans County, you’re behind 27,300 others.  There are only about 300K people  in Orleans parish.  I'm ahead of 91% of the local population.

According to that I’m one of the first to get a vaccine. Lol.

  • According to this, I'm basically last. Actually last, because there are around 300M people in the US, and I have a pretty good notion that at least 10% (30M) won't get the vaccine either because of religious/health restrictions, or because they're anti-vaxxers.

So I'm still expecting to WFH until June.

Based on your risk profile, we believe you’re in line behind 268.7 million people across the United States.

When it comes to Georgia, we think you’re behind 8.6 million others who are at higher risk in your state.

And in Fulton County, you’re behind 856,700 others.

I'm picturing the whole US in one room, but most people have left because their vaccines are done.  You are one of the last to leave and the only people left are anti-vaxxers.  And conspiracy theorists.  Who either think COVID is fake.  Or that COVID and it's subsequent vaccine...which is actually poison...were both created by aliens to decimate the human race.
