Happy Monday friends. I’m on PTO- but logged in listening to a call because my company just announced an acquisition (were not the target, thankfully).

Skiing went great on Friday! I was exhausted and sore after but was super fun. H and I had a thing Saturday over the baby and sleeping. He apologized but it still stings a bit.

@charlotte989875 That sounds like so much fun! I used to snowboard but it has been a few year between pregnancy and babies. I am sure I would be super sore!

I am sure I am starting to sound like a broken record, but we put in another offer on a house over the weekend and are waiting to hear back.

I managed to get stuff done this weekend.

Saturday I got bras. Aerie did same deal I had when I bought originals, so the price difference was only $5.65

I took a brief nap while BK napped but that was short because Angel had a vet appt to check his blood pressure.
M ended up picking up edibles for me because the store is just a block away from the vet.

Sunday - painted my nails. Organized my pantry and tried to start above sink and above oven, but got stuck because I'm short.
I did adjust some of BK's room and it will change as she gets bigger and it'll be so much better when I can finally do a toy box. I'm refurbishing one from MIL so that way when we drop the side of BK's crib side. I'm hoping not only "out of sight, out of mind" but also I'm probably getting a latch. Something to just do while she's sleeping

Anyways .... I tried a few pairs of BK's 2T pants without diaper, and I'm surprised they fit her.

Side note is I woke up and did my makeup.
I feel mildly accomplished this morning.

Weekend was really nice. IL's were actually very pleasant to be around and were here most of the day on Saturday. SIL stayed for dinner and it was fun to chat, we haven't seen her since Christmas. Lot's more calls today to follow up on our busy week last week but I'm at home which is nice! Excited to dig into picking new fixtures/tiles/etc for our bathroom redo. I think we've decided on a general "look" and just need to pick the details and start demo-ing!! Hoping to have at least our bathroom usable before baby comes.

@charlotte989875 I'm sorry you and H are still tiffing over baby sleeping stuff, hopefully you can come to an agreement soon. Glad skiing was fun!

@Jstump2 that design is about 30% of the homes in our neighborhood, people have done really nice things to update a little and I love your design ideas!

@MissKittyDanger glad your bra situation is getting figured out!

We had a wonderful weekend. Friday we just chilled out. Saturday we met our friends at the park for a playdate. It is always fun to get the babies together. DS had a blast playing in this little stream and just being feral. I swear he has not stopped running in months. DH also picked up our new (to us) car. It is so cute! I just love it.

Sunday I had my riding lesson in the morning. My trainer's wife had their baby last week so I am going to start covering some classes on Thursdays.

It's kind of a funny story but I accidentally ordered myself a birthday present a couple weeks ago. I was trying to see what the companies payment and delivery options are thinking I would bail out of the purchase when I go to the payment page. Except there wasn't one! It just said Order Confirmed. Then I thought, who knows if this ordering form is actually functional or not though (you would be surprised how many aren't here) so I'll wait and see what happens. Color me surprised when they promptly contacted me about delivery, lol. I stalled them as long as I could trying to get it closer to my actual birthday (because I hadn't told DH I had even decided what I wanted yet) but it was delivered on Sunday. Picture below.

Then DS and I had dinner with one of my former students and her family. It was lovely to see them as it had been at least 6 months.

Today I went to the gym and then to lunch with another former student. We sat and chatted for about 2 hours. It was fabulous.

It was my birthday on Saturday. On Friday, a couple of co-workers did a surprise visit and brought a plant. It was fun to see them (masked and socially distanced!) On Saturday, DH and I ran some errands in the morning. In the afternoon, another co-worker knocked on the door. My mom (who's been in our circle all along) came over and we ordered from our favorite Asian restaurant. It was a good day.

Sunday we did recliner church and I went out for a Sam's Club pick up and a Walmart stop. As I got home, the snow started. We got about 4". Today it's supposed to be 37 degrees - Yay!

I just finished my self-assessment for my yearly review. I'm up for a promotion, but have been told it won't be until end of the first quarter or beginning of the second.

31 Design Ideas That Make Small Bathrooms Look Bigger

Our current bathroom is has ugly beige tile all over the shower, floor and walls, no drywall or paint anywhere. There is a tan toilet and original (1975) laminate white countertop and vanity.

This picture is kind of the vibe we're going for - not our bathroom but a similar layout. I will pick a primarily white tile/solid surface for the shower (instead of the beige in this pic), same for the floor. We are ripping the mirror and tile off the walls and replacing with a cool mirror and drywall Probably a white/gray marble looking tile floor.

We're going with a similar color vanity as the picture because the guest bath has a very similar one that is only a few years old and I want all the bathrooms to look cohesive. We'll do the same vanity in the powder room downstairs. White based countertops, white toilets. Will paint the drywall a light gray. We don't have a window above the toilet so I will probably add a few glass or wood floating shelves for additional pretty storage.

Hoping to balance updated/pretty but not so over the top that it doesn't fit with the rest of the house or neighborhood.

@charlotte989875 What's up with the sleep stuff now? Sorry it's still an issue and H upset you. Sleep deprivation is a mindfuck, as is a partner who's not getting it.

The weekend was all right. We had a blast at the pinewood derby on Saturday. Everyone was so happy we pulled it off. The kids had the best time. DefConn won 1st place in his den and had the second fastest car overall.

DefConn went home with his BFF afterward and ended up having his first friend sleepover. He and his friend have been begging for one for months. I had all the feels. DH stayed at his dad's house Saturday night for his dad's bday. So I ended up alone in the house for the first time in 2 (?) years overnight. It was OK, but since it was last minute I just ended up watching Firefly Lane (loved it! can't wait for more!).

My younger sister, BIL, and foster nephew are on a family vacation with BIL's family in S. Fla. BIL's dad has been diagnosed with incurable cancer (geeze, heard that one before...lil sis is definitely having a struggle with the deja vu of it all) and was gifted a vacation home by his boss to take a family vacation. They are having the best time and making memories. The pics have been great.

Dad is also in Fla with his friends. His pics of him and his old man friends are cracking me up.

Yesterday, I had to go to the office and get a new headset (I have been in a week+ saga of not having a working phone). I needed to get stuff for dinner and other odds and ends. I ended up spending about an hour and a half gloriously wandering around alone and of course spent $$ on stuff I didn't need.

OH and I got a pair of wedge sneakers. They are SO CUTE AND COMFY! I hate regular athletic shoes for just wearing out and about, but wanted casual shoes I could wear in winter.

Not too much going on. It was a bad day yesterday, so I'm going to be dragging all day today. I woke up late yesterday. Then took a nap at 2:30pm. According to my H, my blood sugar kept dropping low and he kept feeding me juice. I don't remember any of it. I woke up at 8:30pm feeling crappy and out of sorts. Of course, then I couldn't go back to sleep until 1:30am and had to get up at 6am. My whole Sunday felt wasted and now I can barely keep my eyes open, lol.

At least my H was productive. We lost some shingles on our roof during one of the tropical storms last year. It's been fine and we didn't have any leaks, but my H replaced those shingles yesterday. He said we probably only have about 5 years left on our roof. Meh. I bought the house 10 years ago and my inspector said the roof had about 10 years left, so I guess the fact that there are still a few years left puts me ahead, lol. Time to start saving now, though! A new roof is probably going to run me $10K-$12K.

Some of you may remember that I had a vacation of a lifetime planned for May 2020. A 7-day cruise in the Western Mediterranean that embarked from Barcelona and went to Cairns and multiple stops in Italy. It was cancelled (obviously) and I rebooked it for this May 2021. It was cancelled again (sigh). Which was just as well. I'll be fully vaccinated by then, but places might still be closed and Americans may still not be allowed in some/all of those countries. I rebooked it again for an embarkation of August 15, 2021. Crossing fingers the world will be enough back to normal that I'll be allowed in those countries and the tourist attractions I want to go to will be open! I can still rebook if I feel I need to, as long as I do it 14 days or more before departure. But it would be nice to go only 6 months from now, instead of over a year from now!

Thanks everyone! My mom can be negative and is frustrating me lately. I sent her the house and told her we were going to make an offer. Got zero response and when I was talking to her later finally asked and all she had to say were negative comments.

It had tiled walls about waist high, with those smaller 2"x2" thick tiles in a rosy/mauve with sage green accent tiles. The toilet and bathtub were that same rosy/mauve color.

Long story short, we fell out of contract. Which was too bad for a number of reasons, including that "retro" bathroom had grown on me, lol.

Ugh, LSS H doesn’t get that babies don’t all sleep through the night. And he thinks that we should be doing something different to make Baby M sleep all through the night. I finally had it and listed out all the things he had asked we do that I was doing (putting him down drowsy, not letting him sleep on me a while, not picking him right up when he cries, cutting out dairy, feeding him oatmeal 2x/ a day) and said “tell me what else, specifically, you think we should be doing”. It sucks because his sisters kids sleeps like 10-12 hours at night so he thinks that’s the norm and not at outlier. And M is still breastfeeding so he needs to still eat 1-2x a night.

We moved M into his own room but I’ve been sleeping in the chair. A lot of my anxiety is about SIDS and a friend who lost her baby at 6 months. So the move has been hard on me. I probably haven’t done a good job of communicating that to H either.

He also said he doesn’t feel like we have much of a relationship right now. That hit me really hard. Like I’m doing all the night stuff, working, I try and ask him about work/ what he’s doing / how he’s doing and he’s always so focused on what else needs to get done at night. He
acknowledged that he was at fault for a lot of that too.

He apologized and said he didn’t realize everything I was already doing & that he was having a hard time with the fact that one change to the routine and it throws everything off. He likes routines and is having a hard time with the fact that the baby doesn’t care about a routine.

Neither of my girls "slept through the night" for at least a year. I had a much easier time with my second because I had let go of my own unrealistic expectations.

@short+sassy sorry your Sunday sucked. I’m also looking at cruises, but for early 2022, and I’m not sure what we’ll be like then - but also - the cancelation pllicy has been great through covid. I have Celebrity Cruise credit from a canceled cruise to use (which I would have cancelled ANYway since it was with my ex). Ugh! I hope yours leaves in August. It sounds so amazing.

i did end up going to the movies Saturday . Not busy at all and i felt safe and comfortable throughout the whole thing. I’d probably go again, but the audience is not what it was, I have no idea how they’re going to stay in business.

Other than that, chill weekend. Well, not really, I’ve had some mystery water coming up from my kitchen floor and since friday, I’ve been sucking up water with the wet/dry vac. At first I thought risidual from the original flood from the plumber but every day new water is coming up through my boards and it can’t be that. Right now, my suspicion is snow melting from my sliding door and seeping in, since that’s where most if the water is. My shovel broke so guess what i’m getting after work? Going to try to shovel around the sliding door to put that theory to the test. My life’s awesome.

My cruise is with Norwegian and they've also been fantastic. Totally flexible with rebooking. Originally, I was only getting one of their "free" packages. But, when I rebooked last time, they had a special offer where you would get all five of the free packages. That deal already got carried over to this rebooking also.

I hope shoveling near the sliding door solves the water problem!

My weird news, I thought I had an ingrown toenail about 2 weeks ago because it was a bit painful and red (didn't see any spot the nail was actually puncturing though). Soaking in epsom salts didn't do much but it wasn't getting worse.

FFW to Fri/Sat and I noticed it was hurting again so I finally looked Sat and my whole foot was a bit red and I noticed 2 other toes were getting a bit red. Did a telehealth visit Sunday morning and the provider said covid toe - which I briefly remember hearing about last spring. Basically a covid symptom, or more often an after-Covid symptom that can come weeks later. I had to get a covid test (my first!) and it was negative so I'll get an antibody test although only a small % of people with covid toe report antibodies.

I have not knowingly contracted it. I did have a cold about a month ago but that is it.

@charlotte989875 it is SO hard for a relationship to be sleep deprived and also be in the middle of a pandemic where you cant' exactly have an easy date night.

DH and I still have our moments (and had a tiff a week ago) about stuff and then I yelled at everyone yesterday saying "Is the only way that people will listen to me is if I turn into a raging bitch? Because that's not who I want to be but I'm really fucking frustrated that it's the only way people will listen."

Hugs - I've been there and it's not a fun place to be.

6 month immunizations today 😭 my little babe is a snuggle bug.

So, a few weeks back a girl who I went to elementary school with reached out to me on Facebook and asked me to listen to a presentation these were her exact words

“Hello! I'm in training and I was wondering if you and your spouse can listen to my presentation while my instructor is watching on zoom. No obligation to you at all. Just listen for my training please.. it will be in the evening in about 2 weeks. Please let me know what day works best for you”

So I assumed it was for school. I got the meeting invite and it’s a freaking MLM pitch. I’m usually good about sniffing them out, but the words “instructor” threw me for a loop. I responded and said I assumed it was for educational purposes and that I don’t personally support MLM’s and l didn’t want to waste her time.

She was ready with some canned response and I let her know absolutely not. You do you, but don’t put lipstick on a pig!

@MNNEBride Happy Birthday, February sister!! I always say it and I will until I die: February babies are the best.

I had the shittiest weekend I've had in awhile. K has started their "redemption tour" and has started contacting my friends with, "I miss you, I love you, I hope we can still be friends" and then launches into what a monster I am. Honestly, I can't quite identify my feelings about it, but it's mostly a protective, "leave my friends alone" feeling Like, K weren't really friends with any of my group, K just came along with me. I've had quite a few friends comment that they would reach out to Kelsey over our relationship and never receive a reply. So, it's all so self-serving, manipulative, and gross. I'm hoping it ends quickly. The friends are just letting me know it's happened, not screenshots or anything intimate, so I'm okay. Most of them are more like, "Can you believe this shit?!"

Remember the friend drama? Yeah...it got worse. Alcohol was involved on his part (TBH, mine too, but I did my 2 drink limit) and when I tried to talk to him about my boundaries and feelings, he got violent. After he was kicked out of the place we were at, he messaged me and said, "You are a literal POS and I am done defending you." I just blocked him from all access and will never see him again. So, easy enough decision.

Honestly, I'm re-examining a lot of my life and friends lately, and at this point, if they are not healthy friendships, I'm walking away. I think this this one was probably the last one that is unhealthy. I fell in with some people after my divorce that...well, low self-esteem and self-worth will do some f****d up things to your psyche. I should've gotten myself into therapy much earlier. I think I'm coming out the other side, and honestly, I'm feeling a fierce joy in only taking care of myself. It's still weird, but having my own space that I didn't have to compromise on a damn thing and making my own decisions and path is the best damn thing I've ever had in my life and I love it.

Birthday week! I'm very excited. My BFF is coming into town (we are both covid free at this point), I'm being self-indulgent with gifts to myself that are special to me and for me, and I think I'm doing pretty great. Now I just need my damn vaccine and herd immunity and I'll be happy.

MNNE - Happy Belated Birthday!

Charlotte - I'm so sorry this is still going on. Did H go to the 6 month appointment with you? I feel like he needs to speak to someone about the sleeping patterns of a 6 month old. Do you have a stash of pumped milk? Can you start using pumped milk for at least one MOTN feeding? It might go faster for you to get back to sleep. I actually got pretty good at wearing the pump while I fed DD her bottle at night. It was different for me, as I always had to supplement my milk with formula. I did not produce enough milk on my own. So DD always needed a bottle after nursing, but with the pumping I could frequently just provide her with extra milk I pumped. And the first year is hardest on the marriage.

We got our can lights installed and hooked up! They are awesome! We ended up having to paint the ceiling twice. The paint we purchased to try and match the original ceiling color was off, so we had to paint the whole thing. Then the paint we bought was SUPER thick and covered like shit. So even though the colors were really similar, we ended up needing to do a second coat on Sunday. We did read up on thick paint and were advised to thin it out with some water. That worked so much better! Saturday, we used half a can just on a half assed paint job. Sunday we used a quarter can, watered down and it covered beautifully!

DDs birthday is on Wednesday. I am having a big sign put in the front yard - she is going to get a big kick out of it! Saturday we will have her birthday parade, which she is super excited about! I am going to make cupcakes to hand out too, so that is my biggest agenda this week! We aren't having too many people, just immediate family, and close friends. So that won't be too bad. I am in the process of making her a "birthday" shirt, since I forgot to order one from etsy.

@VarunaTT, That's so annoying about K! The chutzpah. Especially considering these were more your friends and not mutual friends. I'm also sorry to hear your friendship ended with drama guy. I remember from your previous post that you all have been close friends for a long time. But it sounds like he's become a toxic person.

At least your BFF is coming into town for your birthday! That sounds like it will be a blast.

We’re still only allowed one person at appointments but he’s going next time. I want him to hear from the doctor there isn’t anything wrong with his sleep now. H gives the last bottle so I can get to sleep earlier. We have a stash but it’s all pre-Non dairy so I’m trying to feed and pump enough so we can tile out a dairy issue. I do produce enough for him + a little pumping so it’s working.

I think the biggest thing is he’s feeling like there isn’t enough time to do everything he wants to get done. I’m fine not cooking or hiring people to do more of the stuff around the house but he’s very much a “if I can do it we don’t need to pay someone” kind of person.

it's my day off, per usual. I'm working on stuff because the Mr's birthday is this week.
My parents get their 2nd shot on Friday--so I may have an opportunity to be ALONE IN MY HOUSE. I can't tell you how much my introvert soul needs that.

@charlotte989875 , I hope the doc pass of helps--is ot possible to do a telehealth ped. visit if that doesn't alleviate the BS level in your house?

I've had a slew of bad migraine kick, but, we're surviving. I'm on Ubrevley as a rescue med--which is very new and is the only one that works for me, currently available.
So, I have kickass insurance and got pre-auth. So I spend $50/ month. That's 10 pills, which essentially is 5 migraines. My migraines now cost $10 each. (also, I'm limited to 5 headaches per month, apparently. Someone please tell my head that it's over by 30%)

But, that's not what I"m pissed about. The price w/o insurance is $380ish for 10 pills.

So....apparently uninsured/underinsured people are supposed to spend $70, that is SEVENTY US DOLLARS per headache.
So so broken. so angry.
One of the reasons I work only part time currently (one of several) is because my continual health problems make it hard to handle a FT schedule. So in a slightly different world, if I had crappy insurance and had to pay for these pills, I'd be unable to pay for the pills that make it possible to work to even get crappy insurance. It's infuriating.

Neither of my girls "slept through the night" for at least a year. I had a much easier time with my second because I had let go of my own unrealistic expectations.
