We are getting married at 7 pm. We have Todd all day (8 hours) for getting ready and photo tour then there ceremony will have to fall under cashman. I'm thinking todd will be from 12 to 8 or 11 to 7. Our reception starts at 8 till 11 or 12. We will have todd all day but his time will be up about reception time. Here's my dilemma. I love nighttime and I'm kinda bummed we won't have all of the reception covered or much for nighttime photos. I'm considering hiring someone like tyler freear for 3 to 4 hours to do the reception and evening photos. Is it crazy to do two photographers? I also like the idea of having two styles of shots. And I can do tyler on an hourly basis so its affordable..... thoughts?
Re: is this idea crazy?
I'm having Todd do everything but I'm booking him for an extra 2 hours. I'm doing the 2 hour photo tour first, starting about 1pm, then our ceremony at sunset, then the reception after that. I figure by the time the 10 hours is up (at 11pm-ish) we will have most of the pics we want or need.
[QUOTE]Getting ready photos are easy to fake... At my fi brothers wedding I was a bm for his now wife and we all got ready hours before camera arrived... Reapplying powder/lipgloss/faking mascara, putting on jewelry, rezipping eachother or untying a bit of bridal dress then back up, helping with garter/shoes.... Her photog got all the getting ready shots including dress on hanger and artsy shoe/jewelry shots in 15 minutes... I wouldn't have Todd show up until the tail end otherwise it will be a alot of sitting around on the clock IMO... Save him for later in the evening at the reception... You'll def want party pics!!!!

Never thought of that shoe twin! Your right, I'm probably estimating too much time for that part of the day. Perhaps I'll redo my timeline and make it work better.
[QUOTE]Have you checked with Todd? I know he has an hourly rate too which is probably competative with Tylers. I wouldn't want to start with a new photog myself in the middle of it all. But thats my opinion.

Good idea too, If I need more time I'll see if Todd can stay longer. He will get a nice break during the ceremony too.
And like goodtobe said, its easy to fake those sorts of shots. Especially since you'll have to reapply lipstick/gloss throughout the day.
btw, I'm jealous, you only have 2 tiny little months to go! lol I just want next March to get here. I know thats wishing my life away but gosh, I've waited for this for a while. lol
Its actually starting to get a little scary at this point because I still have a lot of things to do! I'm having to decide on things I've been totally unable to decide on...like flowers, accessories & ceremony music. I didn't start planning until about 9 months out though. You're ahead of the game girl! I can't even decide how to wear my hair.
[QUOTE]Todd will work additional hours for $100/hour. :)
