"It is raining."

I know everyone will find this pretty stupid, but I've never understood the phrase. What is "it"? What exactly is doing the raining? Given, I still say it myself. But the entire phrases just boggles my mind.

The overuse (and misuse) of the word "literally." "I literally jumped 50 feet, I was so scared." Really? I would love to see that. I've heard newscasters use this word incorrectly, or even when it's not necessary as in "The snow was, literally, five feet deep." Ok, great - as if I thought you were speaking metaphorically.

This post had me cracking up.

This isn't a saying but it happens to me all the time. If I ever tell people I'm Christian (mainly people my age) they sing "Our God is an awesome God!" with a dumb grin slapped on their face. Its so rude lol. Not to mention its happened more than 6 times to me so thats pretty bad.

"Everything happens for a reason." Really? So bad stuff is happening to me for a reason? That makes me feel so much better...no, wait, IT DOESN'T. Now I'm wondering what I did that was so bad that these things are happening.

"You're 33 and don't have any kids yet?! You'd better get started." My grandmother didn't start having kids till she was 35 and she had 4 over the next 7 years...in the late 1940s/early 1950s. Plus, my gynecologist isn't worried about my age so why should anyone else be?

"There's never a GOOD time to have a baby." Yeah, but there's such a thing as a BAD time to have a baby. I work full time and am trying to finish a degree, so now would count as a bad time to have a baby...unless, of course, you're offering your services as a free day-care provider so I can still work and finish school after I give birth.

Yeesh so Cassandra got a little crazy huh? CP I think what Arwo was saying was simply that it must be interesting being you - the experiences that you post are not something typically experienced by most people. For example - losing and maintaining weightloss on a terribly unhealthy fad diet, and people singing to you when you tell them you're christian. (Really? This happens to you a lot?)

She was just saying - how off that these things happen to you and I'm totally with her.

we are all different. I don't see the reason why you have to constantly point it out with me. Whenever you quote me you belittle me or act as if I have not had any life experience. When neither of us actually knows what each other has been through. So just stop-- I don't see why thats so hard.

I don't think I ever meant to belittle you--although I certainly don't seem to agree with you on some things, and as I've said, I don't really understand you because when you've described your experiences, they've been pretty different from my own, and I have a hard time imagining what that would be like. What can I say, I lack imagination.

I was hoping it would be more of a "Ha ha, we're so different from each other, and that's OK!" thing.

well from past encounters with you I didn't really see this last response as that. It really isn't a big deal I just thought it was weird. The main point of why I think people saying that is annoying is because I feel like it is becoming more main stream in my generation to make fun of people who believe in God, mainly Christians. Hence why I said I only hear that from kids my age. But yes, we are different. Since you elucidated I should say sorry for thinking your comments are always coming from a rude place-- I shouldn't judge like that. So, sorry.

OMG!!! This happens to me all the time at work too! I F*ing hate it!! Maybe you should listen to the message they left you to figure out who called....ummmm... the whole point of having a voicemail!

I'm tired of people asking what happened to my wrist! I've had problems with my left wrist since my gymnastics days from my childhood. Sometimes my wrist starts hurting a lot (this has increased since starting bartending) so I bought a wrist brace from Walmart and wear that when it hurts (btw i don't have health insurance, and plan to go to a Dr once I do). Whenever I wear my brace, people ask me what happened... I'm tired of answering that question!!!!
