Snarky Brides

Monday, Monday...

There is something wrong with me and I am finally going to the doctor's to figure it out. I have a weird rash (not tmi, it isn't that kind of rash) on my leg near my knee...about the size of a quarter. It's been there for 2 weeks, hasn't gone away. Then this morning I wake up and my eyes are both swollen. Not so much I can't see but enough that I can tell. I am starting to get a little worried. So now I am going to the doctors, yay me, I get to sit in the clinic office and get sicker.

Good news is that a) I ran 3 miles in 30 minutes yesterday...a personal best for my slow ass...and b) this morning I (finally!) weighed in with a 20lbs loss since new years...

What's up today ladies?

PS: RACH I WANT TEASER PICS AND I AM SO JEALOUS.

Re: Monday, Monday...

  • Hey!  I read your update on FB about the running-great job!!!  I am averaging around 40 minutes because running has just never been my thing.  I am though running my first 5K race in May so we'll see how that goes....!  And I hope it is just an allergic reaction.  Fingers crossed for you,  my dear.

This day is going to be LONG.  All I want it to do is go by fast so Thursday comes quick.  That is pretty much all I got.
It's time. Adoption saving and process started in November 2012.

  • Congrats on the weight loss and fast run-time! That's awesome, numbers.

I don't know if I'm PMSing or it's really because my CW's are utterly annoying, but I want to stab each of them with a #2 pencil. I've worked here a year and a half, and they have yet to learn that I am NOT a morning person. I do not want to sit here and discuss kayaking at 6:15 in the morning. I do not want to hear about your child's bowel movements while I have my breakfast at my desk. I do not want to hear about your wife's new-found love of Sketchers Shape-ups while I log in to my computer. I want you to shutthefuckup and leave me alone.

This weekend was fun. We got in some quality time at the beach yesterday and Will BBQed these amazing burgers for dinner last night. I just wish my weekend were longer. I'm kinda sad that we're having to do a delayed HM because of Will's summer deployment, because we so need a vacation.

  • yay, Numbers!  Congrats on your run and weight loss.  I'm still threatening to start training; yeah, I'm that person.  We did a mountain bike ride that kicked my butt, and seemed so much harder than previous times I've ridden that trail.  Boo to extra weight and no riding all winter.

    Have a great day, everyone!

  • Congrats on the weight loss numbers!!

Good morning!  H and I worked the in the yard (mowing, tree trimming, shrub-scaping, pressure washing our entire stupid privacy fence) from about 8am to 7pm yesterday.  I think I got my workout in....  I thought at one point I had gotten chiggers, but it turns out the spots were just where our sago palm poked me all over the arm because I pretty much attacked it with hedge clippers.  Thank God.

Materials for our deck are being delivered today!!  Hopefully it will be ready by the weekend because the ILs are coming into town for spring football!  SO EXCITED! (about all three)

Not much happening today, just trying to stay awake after an exhausting weekend!  Have a great day everyone!

P.S. Mehg, I think it was you who recommended the book Keeping Faith.  Thank you for recommending it!  I really am enjoying reading it (and it helps pass the time at work/gym lol!

  • Morning all!

numbers, yay to running and boo to doctors offices.  I need to get my butt outside and start running again.  The only race I ever run is starting to loom over me.

We spent the day yesterday hanging out with Derek's BFF, his wife and their triplets.  Their son is doing pretty well, all things considered.  He's gained some weight since coming home from the hospital and is just happy being a kid.  Being around those 3 makes me want to jump on the TTC rightnow.

Coming home we ran into the weirdest weather.  First it started just pouring rain, then it turned to slush, then snow, then slush, then rain, the snow again, and finally rain as we got home.  Weird.  There was soooo much water on the road, I pulled off the highway and made Derek drive.

And, as much as I love thunderstorms, I did not appreciated being jolted awake at 2am by a house shaker of thunder.

  • Returned from a whirlwind trip to Utah to finish dive certifiaction in the Homestead Crater.  We did it!  Now on to more exciting places to dive.

Got some frustrating news when I got home.  It appears that about half of my invites may not have gotten to their intended target.  I was bad and used labels (flame on) in Edwardian Script, and I guess that the stupid machines or whatever can't read it.  I've only gotten 1 returnded to me (and it had the right address mind you) but 2 other people told me that theirs hasn't arrived yet.  So, I sent out a fb message to those who haven't RSVPd yet to see if they even got the message.  WTF post office!  It's been 2 weeks since I mailed them out FFS!  My friend in Germnay got hers!  GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
  • Aww good, Shay, I'm glad you're enjoying it. I had to take a break from Jodi Picoult. I've read about 8 of her books in the past six months, so I kind of ODed on her. I have her newest book at home (Sing You Home) but I think I'll read that after I finish Water For Elephants and Girl With The Dragon Tattoo/Millenium series.

Keeping Faith was actually my least favorite of her books, but maybe that's because when I started reading her books, I began with some of her heaviest-hitters, so I wound up comparing it to them. And I'm still not 100% sure I understood the ending. When you finish it, you'll have to let me know your thoughts.

  • BK, that font should have been pretty easily legible, especially compared to some types of calligraphy.  I mean think about how many people with bad handwriting send things.  That is really odd though.

  • BK- I wonder if the font was too fine?  That's the only thing I can think of that would affect it; like Shay said people with bad handwriting mail stuff all the time.

    Numbers- congrats!

Morning everyone. I slept like crap this weekend, so I think I'm going to stay home this morning and try to catch up.  I was leaving working at noon anyway for a dr appt, and nothing was going on this morning.
  • Yeah, this is only my second book of hers.  I read My Sister's Keeper before the movie came out so that I could compare the two (I hate seeing book movies before reading the actual book).  I'm hoping to finish it soon so I can start Water for Elephants.  I'm really liking it thus far though.  The only thing I've found I don't like is that she has freaking long chapters, so if I just want to read for 10 minutes before bed, it's impossible to finish one lol.

  • I agree, they should have been able to pick up that font. I mean, I had a pen-pal in Japan when I was 7 years-old and Lord knows I wrote like shiit back then.

Steph, sorry you didn't sleep well. That's cool that you're able to take the morning off; I should have done that!

  • Congrats on the weight loss! I need to get there.

I hate Mondays, especially this one in particular. I had to bring Pumpkin to the vet on Saturday. She has been scooting her butt on the floor pretty bad Friday night. I brought her 2 weeks ago because of this thinking it was her glands (gross..sorry for TMI), but it wasn't. We kinda figured it was her vaginal area this time. She has a bladder infection and bladder stones. $200 for medicine and perscription food, as well as a urinalysis. HOLY MOLY! Poor thing, I feel bad for her but I know she will be OK.

    Is it Friday yet???

  • Good morning. This weekend was... weird? I don't know, it was just off. Maybe the strange weather had something to do with it. We had a showing on our house yesterday (fingers crossed!), so I hope the people liked it. Not much happening today except work and the Butler/UConn game tonight.

Also, does anyone have a good car parts ordering site or catalog? I need a new glove box latch for my car, and the dealership wanted to charge me $130 to change it. F you, I'll do it on my own.

  • Morning Ladies!

This weekend I was not productive at all. But next weekend I have to be. DH leaves for MN on the 10th, only to come back the 12th, and leave on the 13th for Talledaga. It's one of his annual guy trips (the second is in Sept). He will be gone till the 18th.

So my plan of attack is clean the house this weekend, and while he's gone I'm getting a massage and a pedi.

  • Good Morning!

In celebration/anticipation of our upcoming diet, I am making cookies today.  Big, buttery, chocolate filled cookies.  Some people throw away junk food when they start a diet, I'm too frugal to throw away perfectly good anything.  I'm eating it all ;)
  • For the font on the labels, I used as big as I could get and I bolded it.  It should be plenty legible.  JERKWADS at the Post Office.  Just out to eff up my day!  GRRR!

    1) I would order from that site for the name alone.
    2) I don't mind the grey at all, but would personally pick the white/teal ones, but that's just how I roll.

  • Shoebacca?!?!?! Amazing. What an incredible name.

Good morning lovelies!  We had a busy weekend.  Saturday we ran all of our final errands for the wedding (including buying gifts for the GM's, since FI loves to wait til the last minute for everything).  Then we celebrated with some friends.  Sunday we decided not to do anything, and so we just watched Netflix on the couch all day long.

I'm still feeling sick, so I'm going to try and stay in bed for most of the day.

We have nothing left to do except for packing and making those waterbeads, so I'm pretty stoked.

    Good morning everyone!

I'm stalking the weather websites for the forecast next weekend, but they all say something different. I don't mind rain on my wedding day, I just don't want storms. About half our guest list is OOT, so I don't want their flights to be delayed or anything.

Unlike April, I have a TON to do still. But I know that I work best under pressure. I'm going to be bossy the last couple of days, but I haven't had my bridezilla moment yet, so I'm due. Wink

No more work until the 18th. YAY!

Have a great day, ladies! It will be Friday before you know it!
