Before watching that six minute preview I was thinking Arizona. Shonda always kills people right after they give big speeches, and before they left for Boise, Arizona made a big speech to Callie about "Don't you ever leave me, I can't take it anymore" etc. Derek, Meredith, Alex, Cristina, Bailey and Webber's contracts have all been renewed for two more seasons so none of them can die - if Arizona dies, that would leave a spot for Alex in SGMW and maybe keep him from leaving for Johns Hopkins. I would imagine the rest of them would just stay because they couldn't leave after such a horrible thing happened? I'm interested in what keeps them in Seattle.
However - I was also open to the idea that Lexie would die, too, and she's looking in pretty rough shape in that spoiler clip. I have read in some spoilerish circles (because Grey's is really good about keeping secrets) that Shonda has said Lexie and Mark will have their reunion but it will be "bittersweet." Wtf? So they will profess their love and then she will die? THE NOT KNOWING IS KILLING ME.
MY THEORIES:

As for Arizona and Callie- I think it may be Arizona. Because then: Alex will HAVE to stay at Seattle Grace. He was supposed to be on that plane- didn't Arizona take his place??? The guilt will destroy him and Callie will hate him forever. ALTHOUGH: Arizona and Callie are a HUGE draw for ratings.. I really wonder if ABC is willing to destroy that. That said, I believe Jessica Capshaw had a baby recently so maybe she wants out?
My final idea- KEPNER. She isn't there. What if the death is NOT at the crash scene. What if Kepner drinks and drives.. or what if she hits someone? maybe the Chief? Just a thought....
As for the contract renewals- some of those could be false announcements.. so I guess no one is safe.
I agree the contact renewal announcements could be fake...and that why Im so worried for Derek.
Shonda also said it would be a "beloved" character. My bet is Lexie or Adele. Although it will be awful if Lexie and Mark realize they love each other, only to have her die

For some reason I think they will keep Arizone/Callie. I think it draws too many people in and ratings.
I was thinking Lexie too, which makes me so effing (it won't let me say the real word?) sad. I really like Lexie. Kepner seems most logical to me, but I don't know.
Chelsea the clip blacked out so you couldn't see what he did. Just before the crunch it looked like he either grabbed something or was trying to break the.. door? Wing? Whatever was stuck on his arm/hand.
Adele wouldn't be that big of a deal though. She wasn't a huge character and it's kind of expected at this point with her failing health. The real "OMG" moment is when something awesome happens (like Lexie and Mark) and then Shonda kicks our asses with killing one of them off.
I "think" Derek used a rock to free his hand?
I guess Adele wouldnt be quite as shocking...but neither will April IMO. I dont think too many ppl are invested in her character

Yea it definitely looks like he smashed his hand with a rock to free it. I would assume that means bye bye neurogod... at least in the real world. If he lives and stays on the show, I assume he may get a Burke-like storyline in which he can barely work anymore.
I don't really care for April. I don't like the way they play on her Christianity in a weird way. I actually had someone say "see, Christians are all weird!". Umm, no. That was just an odd part.

Before the (possibly fake) contract renewals there was a spoiler that said - Mer, Alex, Christina, Mark, Bailey and Jackson were safe.
Also the actor that plays Jackson said the death was someone he had worked with a lot.
So Lexie or April. I would be ok with April but I just dont think thats the "shock" value Shonda is looking for

so I just read an article that claims Callie is narrating in the previews but I never heard her... they make the point that other characters only narrate when something terrible is happening to them or someone they love.....
Callie could be narrating because Mark loses Lexie - they do stuff like that, too. I don't think it will be Arizona. I don't know a lot of people who love her like Lexie... Lexie is pretty popular I thought.
I'm on the Lexie-leaving train, too. Dang it. I like her.
