Random Things

Re: Random Things

  • I love cats too, Salt. My one cat pretty much always has to be touching me if he's laying near me. So in bed, I'll roll over or whatever and next thing I know I feel this little paw poke my arm or shoulder or whatever. It's so cute.

  • Awwwww!!! That makes me smile. :)
Anyone who says cats are anti-social, etc, has never met an awesome cat. Our guys are the life of the party when we have people over!

  • Random question, how is it easier to lurk one board over another? I just leave it up in a separate tab anyway, so it's no more effort to get to the nest in my cache than the knot.

  • My cat responds to you when you sneeze. It's not a meow. It's this weird.. "maaah" sound. She'll do it even if she's sleeping.

Also, she leaves the room when I sing. If I sing along to music then she'll stay, but if there's no background noise, she will leave.

I love the sneezing thing! Oskar responds to whistling. If I'm in another room and whistle for him, he comes running to me and will meow every time I whistle at him.

  • Yeah, I use the multiple tabs thing too, Buddha.

  • Sometimes my cats and I will meow at each other. Like one of them will meow, and then I'll meow at him, and then he'll meow back, etc. It's not as weird as it sounds, really.

It's not, that's why it's amusing to me. I could just as easily bookmark the Caribbean nest page, I have no idea why I haven't. Just random.

My H and our cat do that all the time. My H can be laying in bed and the cat will be on the loveseat in our bedroom, H will look up and meow and the cat will look up and meow back and come jump on the bed. They're best friends. ;)

[QUOTE]Random thing I'm excited about: it's supposed to snow in Louisiana this weekend. That makes two years in a row for a state that sees snow about once every decade.

I'm really excited about this, too! I will be pretty disappointed if it doesn't happen.

Keep it all in Louisiana, please. I don't want any in Mississippi. The one advantage to living this far south is that I'm not supposed to be this cold.

  • My mom's cat does this thing where he gets a crazed look in his eye, takes part of the comforter in his mouth and kneads. It somehow seems sexual and dirty. One of my cats does the same thing occassionally. They're both males, but they are fixed. It doesn't do any damage. We just find random lumps on the bed from it, which my mom says look like penis sculptures. It's kind of weird. My other male cat has never done it. Maybe it's a dominance thing.

  • Um. No. It's not dominance. Kneading is an instinct cats have because when they're feeding from their mothers, they knead for milk flow. It would seem, he's trying to suckle your blankets.

  • Buddha, it is definitely unusually cold for this time of the year. I'm usually still in shorts. But, should it actually snow, I'll do my best to keep it all.
