Stupid movies

Re: Stupid movies

  • I don't like Daniel Day Lewis, but I like Paul Thomas Anderson and I did sort of like There Will Be Blood. Not PTA's best work, but decent.

I also liked No Country For Old Men, and I don't mind the ending. It works if you go back and watch it and think about it. I thought it was a really well done movie, but there is no back ground music in that, so I can see how it can get a little slow.

Re: Foreest Gump. The movie made him look like this sweet retarted guy that all this cool crap happened to. People were all, "It's so life affirming!" REALLY?! I mean, really. I've heard the book is way more tongue-in-cheek, but I have no desire to read it. Pulp Fiction should have won best picture that year.

  • I also could not stand I'm Not There (the Bob Dylan movie).  It's like, I get it, there's some Bob Dylan in all of us.

That movie was a huge waste of 2 hours. It was like being on bad acid or something (I would imagine).

I did like I Heart Huckabees. Call me cheesy, but I came away from that with a feeling of life affirmation! It totally backed up my "everything happens for a reason" and "everything is connected" mantras.

[QUOTE]something else I just thought of. has anyone read "My Sister's Keeper" then watched the movie? I'm used to filmmakers screwing up book adaptations and I don't really mind as long as they keep the basic plotline. so I was FVCKING. PISSED. OFF at the ending of the movie!!!! they left out the best part of the book!!!! I actually screamed when I watched the ending.
