I refer to my parents in WI as home, and Cleveland as home.  I've lived in Cleveland for almost 10 years now.  Is that still weird?
Posted by Loopyseven
Nope not weird! I catch myself calling my mom's home "home" as in "when we get home" to FI when we're back in our hometown. I have to remember it's not really my home anymore and it's just my mom's home now.

Beach, you are not a loser. I call that smart and I am sure you saved a bunch of money.

H lived at home with his parents until he got the job that sent him down south. I was at home until I was 24. I would have been there longer, but had to get out of that environment with my Mom

<div>I do the same thing.  Well, I did until my parents moved to a different state last month.  I guess Cali is now officially home and I go "visit my parents."</div>
In Response to Re: What up E peoples? : That's awesome you all get to go home.  Between my wedding, my brother's, and my good friend's I have purchased enough plane tickets I should own the airline.  Therefore, no money to go home this winter.

Yeah, it seems like airfare is even crazier than usual this year. So we are driving. With a cat in the car. Should be fun.

I also still refer to my hometown and my mom's house as home. I'm not sure DC will ever be home. After only 2 years I am ready to get out of here.
• Allright ladies, I'm off to meet my friend for dinner.  Enjoy your evenings :-)

My mom has lived in that house since I was a year old. I think I'll always consider it "home." I'll probably end up having a nervous breakdown when the day comes that I have to sell it after my mom is gone.
• Haha Missy you would think I'd save money.  But nope, I kept buying new cars, and would buy clothes like crazy.  But I really don't regret it.  I had a great few years spoiling myself with whatever I wanted to buy.  Although it was a littler harder for H to put a stop to that and get me onto a budget, but I'm finally to that point.

• If I get into med school near my parents I will move in with them until FI gets a new job near there, so I might be the loser that moves in with my parents after I'm married.

H and I have had this discussion.  We would totally move in with my parents to get our debt paid off and save up some money if we were able to sell our house.

There is nothing wrong with that. If I end up moving back home before H, then I will stay with my Grandma. There is no way I could handle living in my parents home ever again.
• beach you're not a loser, i have a lot of friends who lived with their parents until 25-27. iI probably would have stayed longer if I wasn't so independent and wanted to do things my way or the highway. My MOH actually is still living with her parents and she's a practicing optometrist.
• Oh my high school students thought it was hilarious that I still lived at home.  I have a great relationship with my parents though and never had an issues so I didn't care living there still.  Plus, my teaching job was never secure so I didn't want to ever get into a lease or a mortgage and then get laid off.

• The only reason I don't think i could live with my mom now is that she has... how do i say this nicely.... become comfortable with her level of cleanliness because she lives alone. I've never been a neat freak, but some things really bother me when I'm there for more than a day or two. Thanksgiving almost put me over the edge and I'm not 100% excited about being there for Christmas and New Years. It really bothers me.
• What would one use to cut a hole in a rubbermaid container?

<div>I may be taking over my dad's business in a year or so when he is ready to retire, and I would go live with my parents while I learned the ropes.  So if you're a loser, so am I.</div>
• Is it something you have to chisel out, or are you cutting it out of the side? If it's out of the side, really strong scissors like gardening scissors might work.
• KJB I would probably use a knife or a razor blade.

Like a hole right in the middle of the side

• I tried a box cutter, but ours seems like we got it at the dollar store.  It seems awfully flimsy.

• I have no hold cutting advice.  I would be much more likely to end up with a hole in my finger than in any containers.

• I'd use something pretty heavy duty for that Kelly.

Yeah, I think I'll leave it for H.  I did enough hand injuries at work to know better.

• I cut a hole in a bin in my college dorm to hide empty beer cans, and I'm pretty sure the sharpest thing we had there was a razor so that has to be what I used.  Do you have a big knife?
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• I'll look around the kitchen :)

• If you were giving a family 3 different bed in a bags would you wrap them or put them in another bag or put a bow on them?

• I would do one of those big gift bags Andy.  But I suck at wrapping.
Photobucket
• I'd use a cordless drill to make a little hole to start from, then a knife or razor (or a cordless hand jig saw?) to cut the circle.
• How big is a bed in a bag?
