I can't wait until they die and show up in front of St. Peter, who's all "OMG you're finally here! We're so excited! Just c'mon in....HA. Sike. We think you're all giant vats of jackass crazy up here too. Take your ish down south."
If I wanted to hear the pitter-patter of little feet, I'd put shoes on the cat.
Some similar crazies came to my hometown when I marched with my high school band in our September 11th 1-year anniversary memorial event. I might have yelled at them as I marched by playing the cymbals...
"In the old days my ass would be in your back yard picking cotton, so excuse me if I don't put much stock in how f*cking awesome the old days were." -Nuggs
The WBC protested our synagogue for a bit (I regrettably live very, very close to where they're from). We started a fundraiser where people pledged money that for every minute we were protested, people would donate x or y amount of money to benefit our Jewish community. So, we raised some good money for some good Jews, and the WBC people left a heck of a lot quicker since, gasp, they were raising money by their presence in our community.

This is our school. My kids both graduated from this high school and were both very active in all kinds of things there, academics, sports, music, all kinds of things.

I have seen these assholes on several occasion here in ks. they are based in topeka and pride themselves on traveling to college and high school campuses all over the state and country spreading their hate. In topeka if you get stopped at a red light and they are picketing at that intersection they have no problem rushing your car and spewing their hateful words. They have no problem using profanity and showing explicit pictures to small children. they protested a friend of mine's funeral a few years ago, and although they had to stay a certain distance away that did not stop them from gravel at us and removing american flags from other graves that were marked as soldiers graves. These people are disgusting! As far as i am concerned they are the best example of religious extremists in our country!!!!
So i just read that the reason they've picked "our" school is that a high school in a nearby suburb asked the group to send a representative to speak at one of their classes. So whenever they are at one place, this idiot group usually picks another to protest at. The school that invited them is Worthington Kilbourne HS but are they protesting at Worthington Thomas HS? No, they are coming to our suburb to protest at Hilliard Darby HS.
Thanks Kilbourne - we'll send your student council the bill for the extra police and security we're having to have. ALSO Darby sits at a VERY tight T intersection that is swamped at this time of day. We have the HS, two Middles schools and a 6th grade building all along there and it is crazy with traffic. LOVELY.
Thanksfully for me I now live at the Northeast end of our district and won't have to deal with it but I feel for those that do.
skippy - why the heck would WK ask them to speak at their school? That sounds so ridiculous. All the people I know from WK would be totally against something like this. I could pick a million CPS schools that could be picketed before Hilliard.
i seriously wish municipalities would start billing WBC for all of the costs incurred with their protests. the money spent on police details, barriers, road closures, etc. is astronomical. as taxpayers, we are all footing the bill for their nonsense.
