It's actually sunny here. Parents were visiting from Cali this past weekend. It was cold and windy the whole time until they left yesterday. It's suppoosed to be in the 50's all week but forecasted rain and snow flurries next week. Bleh!
It's gross here. Granted, we're headed into fall, but our summer was super late, so it should stay longer! Plus last year it was nice all through April, so I wasn't expecting grey skies this morning. I'm hoping it's just one weird day and not the changing seasons...I hate winter, especially in Santiago where the cold just gets in your bones because it's damp and most places (including our apt) don't have central heating.
Chilean winters sound like so much fun. Do you use space heaters or radiators?
That's Elvis! He's only a year and a half old and still pees if he gets really excited. We rescued him about a year ago months ago poor baby was stuffed in a cage and beaten. The only thing I like talking about more than weddings is my dogs.
This thread makes me want cake...and my doggies...and to go outside and play!
It's 91 degrees here and sunny! It has been like this for 1.5 weeks now. I miss my doggies at home. I wish I were home from work, outside, throwing the freezbie for the pooches.
haha- Buddy (the brown one) wants to do nothing but play. He's 4 now and still acts like a puppy. He just discovered bumble bees. He like to jump up and try to eat them. Koozie likes to lay around more and sniff the bushes and flowers outside.
My answer to the people who've started asking if we want kids right away is that Lola will continue to be an only child for several more years. Because oh my gosh, I am too busy squeezing this little face to even think about having a human baby.
This was just after her summer haircut, so her head was soooo smoooooth.
We definitely want a dog or two a few years before we have kids. I hope we don't have to wait too long after getting married to get one, but we'll see. I just need to convince FI to get a shelter or rescue dog instead of a purebred pup! He has a pretty good idea of dog breeds he wants and has names picked out.
Hehe, I will tell Lola you all say hello. She's also a rescue - there are a LOT of street dogs here, and she adopted us. We were waiting for a bus one night, and she came up, jumped on DH's lap and tucked her head under his arm. We'd been talking about getting a dog, so she came home with us. She's ridiculously smart and just funny as hell...I loved the dog I had growing up (yellow lab), but Lola's way more of a personality. She's mostly Cocker Spaniel, but I think she might have some poodle because she's a little smaller than a Cocker and gets crimped hair when she's damp.
Gotta, if you show up with a puppy, I don't think your FI will mind that it's not a purebred
Gottahavashorti - i'm with pound pups all they way. I've even taken in a few strays, spent hundreds on shots and more, and then given them away to good homes. Just explain puppy mills to your FI or show him pictures. My FI likes pound pups too now. "Save A Life, Adopt a Shelter Dog"
That's so sweet. My family's dog was a mutt who was dropped off at our neighbor's then hid under our porch and followed my mom around for a couple weeks until she became more comfortable. We had just started looking for a new dog and hadn't found any at the shelters, so we kept her. She was an absolute sweetheart but had definitely been abused and that was evident for several years based on her fears.
The kitty in my sig and his brother were drop offs as kittens.
I think he'd be open to nearly any dog if I brought it home - he'd just probably want to go get a couple more of his own choosing as well!

"Save A Life, Adopt a Shelter Dog" Posted by suz62984[/QUOTE] Yeah, he wouldn't be going for a puppy mill dog but probably a more reputable breeder. He's open to rescue/shelter dogs, his criteria are what will make it hard but he's the type that will totally come around once he starts meeting dogs outside of his criteria.
My FI and I want to rescue a rottweiller and pitt bull next. Everyone thinks i'm crazy but to me it is about the owner being responsible and not the dog. Those dogs get bad reputations because of their owners. They need someone who can work with them from day 1 and be responsible. I love them!

The important question here is... what type of cake?

Koozie and Buddy
Tried to get my derps to play in the yard. They don't want to. They are lazy, they just want to sit on me.
I don't need kids...I have these two
Yours are adorable though.
