Who is around?

Is there no afternoon chat thread or am I not seeing it?

Anyways, H and I just settled down in front of the TV with a big bowl of fresh cherries to watch England VS Ukraine. Not ideal for me, but it makes H happy and I do actually enjoy watching big games like this.

Whats everyone else up to?

Re: Who is around?

  • I'm here until C wakes up, which really could be any minute now. Until then, I'm snacking on an apple and possibly going through the entire regretsy site.
  • Sounds like fun.

How have things been going for you Aryn? Forgive me if I'm prying, but are things any better between you and FI?
  • Poke, is that a soccer game? Soccer on tv is NMS. I kinda enjoy watching it in person if I know a player (read I went to games in HS when I had a crush on one of the players)
  • Poke, you're not prying. I move on Thursday. I'll be calling the relationship off once I'm in Raleigh.
  • I love Regretsy.  I have wasted far too much time on there.

I'm here, waiting to go home.  Only 1 hr 45 min left, yay!

FI is going to a movie with some friends tonight, so that will give me time to get some laundry done.  My pile seems to be breeding and has spread way too far.  Sigh.  I hate doing laundry, so, so much...

We have a pot roast in the crock pot for dinner, however, so that should be delicious.

  • I'm here, just finished cleaning and enjoying my last day off before I start my new job tomorrow.
  • Aryn,  I'm really sorry to hear about that. I'm sure you've heard this from other people, but if you ever need to talk you can PM me.

And yes, it's a soccer game. The Euro which is a big tournament for all of Europe to participate in. Well, all of Europe can try to qualify but only 16 teams actually do. I actually rather enjoy it. I never used to, but I was in England while the last World Cup was going on and it was really hard to NOT get into it.

DumDum - I love pot roast, what time should I be there? Haha, but I would so trade my laundry services for a good pot roast.
  • I'm at work waiting for our sys admin to run a job to update my dev environment so I'm here for now.

  • I'm here... I feel confined to my room because there's someone here fixing the phone lines and he's going all around the house. I always feel weird when random people are here fixing shiiit, it's awkward.

I also hate that the majority of my family is home. That also makes me feel confined to my room.

  • Good point Poke, I watched a decent amount of soccer in Spain last summer because that's what they do there.
  • That would be a deal, Poke!

  • Speaking of laundry, I have a crap ton to put away. I should also clean my room, I just can't seem to motivate myself. I'd sort of rather take a nap, haha.

  • I feel like napping. We were up until almost 1 am playing Risk with my grandparents.

Yeah, because that's what a newly married 22 year old should be doing until 1 am lol.

Hi Angel! I have to do chores and stuff soon, but I really don't want to. I've actually been doing a lot of helping H with his work. Which is good because it gets all the crap out of my bedroom.

[QUOTE]I'm rethinking my sig, but I don't want to change it again, because that would be annoying. I can't make up my mind. Decisions are not my strong suit. Now I'm singing Aida.

    <div>FWIW I really like your sig.</div>
  • I'm here until 4:30 then I'm home to steam the carpet in the cat's room, clean the kitchen, and start dinner. DH should be home around 7ish and we have to go into town to get fence boards where my horse went through the fence in a storm.

  • Poke, why aren't you out doing something for your birthday? Couldn't your H DVR the game or something?

<div>I have been craving wings on a daily basis ever since my grandparents ordered some for an appetizer when we were out over Memorial Day.  </div><div>
</div><div>Last night I had some boneless ones over a salad.  It cut the craving a small bit, for a short time.  But now the craving is even stronger.  What the hell, body?  You don't need all this delicious spicy chicken, argh!</div>

  • Beanie, why do you want to change it? I think it's cute. Plus it has Disney in it and I like all things Disney.
  • There's the best local wing chain called East Coast Wings, they are just incredible. We usually go there on Thursday nights. Their wings and they sauces are amazing.

  • Well, he could have but he didn't want to. He took me to the sushi place down the road for lunch (which is even sweeter considering he hates that place), and for dinner he's taking me to a movie despite my objections over the expense and then to Bahama Breeze for dinner. We're kind of broke right now, what with all the wedding expenses and spending money playing tourist with his family.
  • Naturally with Ranch.

And I pass an awesome wing place on the way home.  MUST. RESIST.

Aww, well that sounds nice. What movie are you seeing?

  • Good lord I hate talking to clients on the phone.  I feel like I sound like such an incompetent boob.

  • I'm trying to decide if I should apply for a babysitting gig for this Thursday night. It's for 2 boys, ages 7 and 10, and I don't have a ton of experience with that age group, especially boys, but I do need the money.
    imageWedding Countdown Ticker
  • Don't boys at that age pretty much entertain themselves?  I mean, I guess you still have to make sure they don't set the house on fire, but I would think they could mostly be left to their own devices.  BUT, I know absolutely nothing about kids so this is just me talking out of my ass.

  • There's not enough money in the world for me to babysit.

I think being a nanny would be one of the worst jobs ever for me.

  • I prefer talking to customers/clients on the phone. That way if they say something stupid I can roll my eyes if I want to. Although when I first started working at Staples soon after my HS graduation I accidently hung up on everyone every time I tried to transfer a call. Oops.

Angel - we might see MIB 3, I don't really know whats out. I think I'll google it now actually.

<div>You and me both. H went on back to back trips for work, then came home and did tons of yard work. We also both bought new clothes and are getting ready to donate some old ones, so my entire bedroom floor is nothing but laundry piles.</div><div>
</div><div>In a normal week, I do four loads. I am on my sixth load today. </div>
  • I considered being a nanny - but after we decided to live in England I didn't think it would be fair of me to find a family and then leave them. I kind of think that if you're going to be a nanny you should be ready to be in it for the long term.
