• Hy Vee sells fetzer gewurztraminer for 6 bucks all the time.

  • There are many pretty good Rieslings and Gewurztraminers under $10, or between 10-12.  I rarely pay more than that for a bottle of wine unless I'm celebrating something ;)

  • Anything with "Moscato" on it. I like my wine and champagnes sweet.

  • Chatauex St. Michelle is one of my favorite Reislings.  Barefoot makes some goods ones as well.  I'm sure I'll think of more to add.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

what a coincidence, I just ordered our wedding wine, all under $10

Whites are Messina Hof Gwertztraminer and Messina Hof Unoaked Chardonnay. Red is Tarima Monastrell.

Bonus is that the Tarima has some cool thing on the label that is probably a flower but looks like a cross between a pomegranate and the underside of a squid. Cool label!

ETA: I hate Red, and I like this one. Doesn't taste like I'm chewing on a barrel at all!

Check this out:  (i've tried a few they mention and agree that they are quite good.)

    Mmmmm, yes.

My favorite Gewurz comes in a blue bottle and is very German.  But I can't remember what it is right now, which is odd because I was just recommending it by name to another friend.  It's right around 9 bucks here.
No TJ's!  I would definitely have a tantrum over that. Here are some decent labels that are usually  under $10 that most grocery stores carry: Rabbit Ridge, Bogle, Columbia Crest, and Chateau Ste Michelle,
    Posted by kodakitty
I cruise our wine section often and have only ever heard of the chateau.  We have some great locals though.
  • Columbia Crest is pretty good.

Beaujolais Villages red table wine is around $9 and it's good.  It's not really sweet but it's not terribly dry, either.
