I've gone to every single one of my friends' OUT OF TOWN bach parties and for each one, we bought lingerie, sexy stuff, etc. And we paid for hotel rooms, airfare, etc. For each one.
For mine, only my MOH bought me something. I know I'm being ungrateful, I just kind of wish I had some new lingerie, etc. I've spent thousands over the years on bach parties and I guess I was just expecting the same. Don't get me wrong -- I'm so happy with my bach party and we had a fabulous time . . . so maybe it's because we went to Vegas? But honestly, it was less expensive than going to Miami, which I've done for the past two bach parties. The rooms in Miami were more expensive, the meals were more expensive, and many of the drinks weren't free. So I guess I'm just a bit peeved that people didn't do the same for me that I've done for them.

B2B - If it makes you feel better, I didn't get gifts at my bach party either. Well I got a little bag of toys, but cheap silly ones. Def didn't get lingerie. I've actually never been to a bach party where anyone gave the bride lingerie. Seems fun, but not common in my circle or region, I guess.
FI freaks out if I pee in front of him.. But he finds it ok to Pee in front of me.. I dont get it! I dont care either way but I make a big deal out of it only because he does. As for number 2 that is just gross and should be done on your own.
I grew up in a house with all women, we hardly ever shut the door. So I have no issues of peeing in front of anyone hahah
bridetobe - you don't sound like a brat, I would be disappointed too!! it's not the $$, it's the thought of it that counts, IMO. I have never been to a bachelorette party without lingerie in hand to give to the bride, regardless of how expensive the bachelorette party was. I have gone to a few more expensive parties where I only spent like forty bucks on a Victoria's Secret babydoll - but at least it was something! Which is all your girls needed to do for you, but they didn't, so I understand your disappointment. I am hoping I get a few pieces of lingerie on Saturday, too - I am grateful they are coming and don't want to sound like a brat but I, too, want some new lingerie, and after spending thousands of dollars on lingerie for all my girlfriends, I think I deserve it too, gosh darn it!
Oh man! Just got here and it took me a half hour to read all the posts cause more are being added and I kept laughin!!!!
About aheming...We can only do two weeks because we're going to a wedding two weeks before and we really doubt we're going to actually make it through that without...We're catholic and they told us we should wait longer than we're waiting. They suggested if we waited from the time we had our pre-marital counseling is the best....So lame. We're too weak for that!
Cory - That's awesome that they got you that! FI is already talking about what he wants to 'commemorate' the event. I asked him why I wasn't enough....
The peeing thing definitely freaks me out! My dress is a corset and I can not get it off easily! The #2 thing would be even worse and I NEVER thought of that...Now I'm really worried!!! How do you wipe after that?????

Yeah, see, we do it at everyone's I've been to. I'm wondering if maybe my MOH just wanted it to be from her only? What she bought me was beautiful (not raunchy) and I love it. I'm just a little surprised about it esp since many of my friends have mentioned over the years that it's going to be hilarious finding something that fits me (32D but XS)
it's so funny how this tradition differs from circle to circle. It's expected to give the bride lingerie for the honeymoon at bachelorette parties around here - every college friend, high school friend, law school friend, life friend, etc. whose bachelorette I have been to - and I have been to a lot - have been like this.
honeybear, I'm Catholic too and they didn't actually tell us a time frame because at the time of the first meeting we weren't living together yet (so they assumed that we weren't aheming). Now that we're living together, we actually ARE abstaining and it's SOOOOOOO hard!

It def differs with each group! This is not something we do either. I have been to only one bachelorette party and the MOH sent out a note about brining lingerie as part of a game.. the bride guessed who bought her what../ But other then that we dont normally do this.
I think it is great idea and I sure wish we did this :)
I expect most of my friends to give me some sort of present for my bach party as I've given them all something and have gone above and beyond for theirs spending a lot of money and time planning when I wasn't even in the bridal party. My one friend's bach party I made $25 party favor bags all of the girls that had VS lacie thong, lip gloss, lube, gum, mini shots, etc. .Also 2 of my bridesmaids didn't attend either one of my showers and didn't send gifts for that. I'm sure I sounds stuck up and snotty, but if they don't I will be kind of dissapointed. bach party gifts are fun to buy anyways!
I've never been to a b-party where the bride gets gifts, unless you count the enormous amounts of stupid decorations and blowup dolls we buy each other.
My brother apparently had "THE TALK" with his girlfriend's father yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's the most adorable girl ever (and she's one of my BMs) and I am so excited. He's going to wait until after the wedding to ask her so that he doesn't "detract" from "our day". What a nice guy
Buttefly - Oh see we did a huge group thing so they just said it. They told us we're not going to be so insane as to say you should never but they did give us like a contract which caused FI and I to die laughing!!
Yeah, I didn't know there were groups that didn't give gifts! I've only been to one but have always been under the impression it was done. Don't know what I'd do if I went to one, brought my standard nightie and then no one else brought anything!! Would be so embarrassed!
B2B that's so exciting!!!!! FI said he was so nervous for his "talk" especially since it was like the whole family was there when he chose to do it! No one will tell me what he said though! Does your brother have a ring??
