Anyone drinking wine tonight?

We just opened up a nice bottle given to us from a guest as a tip to DH.  It's pretty tasty.

We are also watching Kitchen Nightmares.  Now I know they focus on the drama, but these people should NOT be running a restaurant.  Really.

What are you all up to?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • I'm actually watching an old episode of Kitchen Nightmares on Hulu. Kind of funny. Other than that I'm just hanging out with the dogs.

  • Have fune Veggie!

Back to Central time it is. It was nice not having to do some math to figure out posting times. (You know, because one whole hour is haaaaaard)

  • I'll probably be cracking open a bottle of wine in a little bit.

FI has his monthly poker game tonight, so I'll have the house to myself for the next few hours. Although, I don't have much planned. Most likely just some trashy TV.

  • Lucas didn't come home this weekend. He has training next week in Chicago and he has an afternoon flight on Sunday so it wasn't in the cards. So it's a quiet night here.

  • Whut is up ladies?  I'm just sitting here sipping on chardonnay, listening to classical music, doing laundry, knotting and waiting to see if we will have a government tomorrow morning.  What a great Friday night.

  • Hi everyone!  I'm darting in for now, but I'm heading off to my church group thing in a bit.  Today was occasionally chaotic.  I'm thrilled with all my new FB/TK friends, though!
  • Thank you, Andy, and cheers back to you!

[QUOTE]I worked in a restaurant for a bit and it isn't that hard to give good service to people. I complain about service when I am out. I am not the annoying customer that doesn't realize there are other people besides us, but it isn't hard to say, "I will be right with you."

    <div>Exactly !!</div><div>
</div><div>The outside was busy, the inside part (where we were) had a full bar (7 seat) and 2 other tables sat.  There was another 10 or so tables empty.  It's not like we were lost in a crowd.  We were one of only 3 of 13-14 tables sat. We were wondering how they could NOT notice us.  It's like DH and I had on our invisible suits on.  </div>

[QUOTE]<strong>Lynda, that sucks. Is it typical to have iffy service on the island</strong>? I just clicked on facebook for a friend request and noticed after adding some knotties, now almost my entire "people you may know" section is knotties.
