Look at it like this:
If you were at work and you made friends with people there and one of the co-workers you talk to often came in and said "OMG I just had the best shopping experience at Target. They were so friendly and I got the best stuff ever. I totally recommend Target if you need such&such item" You would take that persons advice to heart b/c you have a relationship with them.
Same work situation, a co-worker you have never talked to and never seen before walks right up to you and says the same thing. You'd be like "WTF, why are you telling me this? Are you paid to promote Target or something?" Why? Because, its not a common behavior to walk up to a stranger and tell them these things and expect them to give a ratsass about your opinion.

Message boards, chat rooms, etc all work the same way. We've built relationships with each other based on our post history. No, it's not all puppy dogs and rainbows, but life isn't that either. Most of us value the relationships with our fellow board members and b/c of this we put value in the opinions and reviews given by our fellow knotties. Any "clicky"-ness that appears is due to the fact that some knotties know each other better than others and therefore have closer relationships with each other.

Hooray for saving the thread! As many still don't believe me to be real, here are some more pictures as requested. The first is our group going out the night before the wedding. Then me in my dress before the wedding taken in the bridal guest room. The guys on our trip to see the Pawn stars who weren't there in the store. Boo! And the happy couple the day after the wedding enjoying the sights in Vegas. I apologize for run-on sentences. I didn't realize how critical people are in forums. I am a finance girl. Numbers are my thing, grammer not. I'm getting a kick out of the stir my innocent post has caused. Leave it to a Jersey girl! Tongue out

See, I hate comments like this. Ditto Scareall, it might feel "clicky" to you right now because you're new. When I first joined, I could tell that people "knew" each other and I was definitely shy to post because of it. But you keep posting and start to get to know the people here. People will be brutally honest - which certainly helped me when I had a really bad idea. But they've also been super supportive. Lilmissscareall really did explain it perfectly. So OP, sorry if we came off as bitchy, but first impression of your post was vendor, especially after some of the previous negative posts about MB Vista Suite issues. Also, when reading a really long post, it's really tough to follow when it's a huge wall of text with no breaks. Congrats on your marriage, sounds like everything was perfect for you. Edited - for some reason I kept saying Sin instead of Scary... Can I call you Scary or is that only for Smokey?
Wow...I never knew a post from me would cause such a stir. The reason this is my first post ever is because I don't post things unless I feel moved to do so. The reason this is my first in years...because the first time I registered on theknot was for my 1st failed marriage. This is my 2nd marriage and I couldn't be happier. He treats me better than my 1st husband who I can not even describe without using obsenities. He was a cheating d-bag. There. I said it. So I hope you are happy all you who think I'm some sort of vendor. I'm a proud jersey girl who just went to the NKOTBSB concert in Atlantic City last week and am going to see Britney Spears this Friday at the Izod center. Would a vendor share that info with you? Yeah...that's what I thought. I had an amazing wedding and some of you just managed to rip me to shreds. I posted a professional shot as well as one taken the night of my wedding before we went to Mix Lounge for the after party taken on a friend's digital camera. The cocktail dress, got at Macy's for $46 and better yet, my wedding dress, got that on Macys.com for $208. But my shoes were the most fabulous. Hot pink from DSW for $60. So there. The only complaints I have is with this website, NOT Mandalay Bay. Just because you might be a bridezilla, don't take your anger out on me. I'm just trying to share my experience in the most honest way possible. Never thought it would come to this. You, knot users, disappointed me most. That excludes those who do believe I'm legit. Thank you for having a lil' faith.
Posted by gkirgan716
Sorry but you were the one that called my wedding and weddings like it cheesy and basically classless. Do you really expect people to be all lovey dovey when you insult their choices.
And believing that you are legit and not a vendor (or vendor prompted post) just makes it worse in my opinion. Way to make friends and introduce yourself.

All I wanted to do was post a positive message about my wedding. I was very happy with the way everything went. I am NOT here to make friends. Is that what people really do on this website? In that case, I'm done with this thread. Have fun continuingon as you were. I've left quite a legacy. Pretty proud right now. 3 pages of responses? NOT BAD FOR A FIRST TIMER, HUH? Tongue out

I'm with j_jay. Your OP was lame (reviewing one single venue/vendor and insulting other people's choices). A vendor prompted post is somewhat pathetic as well. If our WC had told us "hey, when you get on the knot.... 'cause you're on the knot, right?.... give us a nice review, ok?" I wouldn't have done it 'cause it defeats the purpose of an "honest" review, which is what you call yours. I still don't know why the director of the chapel felt the need to intervene here but did nothing to help those other brides when they were having issues at her venue. That would have actually generated valid positive reviews.
