Mooorniiiiing!

Re: Mooorniiiiing!

  • Musu, it certainly sounds like a case of food poisoning. Hopefully it'll run its course soon and you'll feel better by the end of the day. I know taking unpaid time off sucks, but really, you're no good to your coworkers if you're that sick. *HUGS*

  • Ugh, Musu, that sounds a lot like food poisoning. My doctor once told me when I had the stomach flu really bad and couldn't keep anything down to get a bottle of coke or pepsi and shake it until all the fizz went away, then take a couple of tablespoons of it every half our. Just swish it around in your mouth, then spit. Helps keep you hydrated. Weird, but it seemed to work.
Boo. I just found out my favorite restaurant in DC closed just over a week ago. :-( I wish I got to go one last time.
    Posted by cfaszews25
Which restaurant? I was so sad that Jose Andres closed America Eats last week that I made FI go with me one last time on Tuesday- they had the best drinks and the best cheese platter I've ever had.

  • I kind of want to sock my cousin in the face. She's the one who cheated on her husband a few months ago when he was at basic training. Now she's convinced that she has serious problems and has taken a medical LOA from work to work on them...which wouldn't really be an issue except that instead of actually seeing a therapist or getting help, she spends all of her time going to the beach or the movies and trying to foist her kid off on anyone who will babysit her. She keeps posting on FB how bored she is. Dude, you have a kid, did you really think that it was going to be fun and exciting 24 hours a day? Sheesh.

  • Morning. I hope everyone feels better. My doctor just changed my antibiotic. I have a staph infection, and while it looked pretty minor, it isn't clearing up. I believe I'm also going to be tested for a latex allergy, since the band aid situation is getting worse. I'll be popping in during breaks in my class.
Morning, all! I am hitting the ground running today because it's going to be another busy one. Work, saying bye to my family visiting from FL, then class, which is actually a field trip tonight. We're going to the Noah Webster House and West Hartford Historical Society (clicky), touring the house, and learning how to cook, Revolutionary War era-style. I'm excited, it's definitely going to break up the monotony of the two-hour class each week. I have a pile of homework to do and a presentation due for Thursday, gah. Feel better, Snippy! Colds are no good.
    Posted by baystateapple
Wow Bay, that sounds like a really fun class. I don't think I ever went on a field trip for a college class. Maybe I should have majored in history, it sounds way more entertaining that psychology :).

Morning all! Nothing exciting happening today, just getting prepped for an all day event for work tomorrow. But that will take all of 5 minutes and then my day is wide open. I really miss having actual stuff to do during the day. Then it's the gym, home to cook dinner, and bed early.

Does anyone know of a good source for vegetarian crockpot recipes? I've found a ton of recipes online but almost all of them involve meat, which would be delicious for H but leaves me with nothing.

  • Bay, I'm jealous of your field trip. My last college field trip was when my biology class toured a local water treatment facility. Cooking class > poop tour
Morning! Hope all the sicklies start to feel better! Midge, sorry to hear about your Aunt. Better to be safe than sorry, right? I'm grumpy today. H and I both slept awful, roofers didn't show, it's IT Day, and we have dinner tonight at FIL's house. It's going to be a long day.
    Posted by rachers1017
I would be filing a complaint with the BBB if I were you. There is no way a roof should take that long. We had ours replaced in a day, as have most all of our friends. This has been going on over a week hasn't it?

Cal, I used to be a vegetarian and am a crock pot addict. I have a bunch of cookbooks. When I get home, I'll get you a list.

Sweet! Thanks! It would be so nice to have dinner ready and waiting for me when I get home sometimes. And H doesn't cook so the crockpot is really my only option.

I must admit I've considered it. But there is SO much drama already in my family that I just try to stay out of it. The most I've ever done is hide her status updates. She's a really good one for vaguebooking and passive-aggression, and I don't need it now or ever.

Thanks Rach. It is for sure better to be safe than sorry. Yesterday I thought she had agressive cancer in both breasts so it was definitely good news to hear this morning that it's not.

I also agree with Gurr. Add my parents to the list of people who's roof was replaced in a day. Considering they promised it would be finished yesterday and haven't even shown up today, I think you should get some of your money back as well.

    Good morning, ladies.

I have class today, as usual. I have no clue what I'm cooking for dinner. I do have to organize last semesters notes, though. I'm keeping those for review since I'll have a semester long gap in between end of fall semester and the start of clinicals.

I'm kind of getting nervous. Fall semester starts in August then I'm done with the majority of my classroom work. I just feel like December will be here before I know it, then there's the wedding in March, then Pharmacology then clinicals start next fall. For some reason I'm fearing Pharmacology, all of those meds, doses and indications, contra indications...what if I freeze up in clinicals?

Oddly enough, I'm not worried about the wedding. I have most of that planned and only have to book the DJ and photographer. Oh and find a MUA. That's it.

I need to chill, but my brain won't let me. I hate that.

ETA, I hope you feel better soon MuSu...rest and take what fluids you can keep down. Snippy...mucus is facinating to me. I can't handle puke.
  • Morning ladies. Waking up in Kingston Canada on the boat. Life is good!
  • Hi, just popping in!

Cfas. I need to know. What were the basket ingredients for the pudding?!

MuSu - Definitely sounds like food poisoning to me. My digestive system wigs out every once in awhile and I hate it. No fun at all.

Rachers - When are those roofers going to be done?!?!

I finished the third 50 Shades book last night. I'm moving on to Rach's recommendation next!

  • Yes, Edie. We're watching Children of a Lesser God. I just found out that the weird guy in my class got special permission to take all six.classes this summer, but he only has to attend the 200 series. His dad works here. I am pissed.

  • Bay, thanks, the wedding was super fun, and so perfectly sweet. Great weather, great friends, great family, and a romantic setting somewhere out of a movie. I can't wait to get the pro pictures and the video. The pictures we have seen so far make me smile, BIG TIME!
