OMG a dirty venue, money dance, and Hello Kitty on the head table? Trifecta!!</blockquote

You know I am not sure that I have seen discussion on here specifically about the fact that a dirty venue is an etiquette fail but I think that was because we all assumed we didn't have to address basic hygiene issues. Apparently we were wrong.

If the venue was dirty I would have been throwing a bitch fit unlike anything that ever been seen this side of the Mississippi! Wow....just wow!
  • Thanks for taking one for the team! But oh man, there is no way I would have survived it as long as you did!
We had an agreement that we would bail by 9:30, so by the time it all said and done, 4 hours of our lives were lost.

And on a positive note, I haven't puked yet, so I think it's safe to say we did not get food poisoning &/or Dysentery.

  • This is why one must master the art of using ones foot to turn on lights and flush in the loo.  It's really interesting to watch one do it in a ball gown.  Or stilettos.  I've been in a number of dodgy places in my life and using the foot is a skill that all ladies should possess, just in case.  Also using one's shoulder to turn on the light switch is a good skill…much safer when one is in stilettos.  I carry hand sanitizer EVERY WHERE.
  • That venue sounds like a perfect reason to carry one of these around:

  • I might have those. Used to bug people but all kinds of fun.

$80 to not get wasted off your ass? That's awful.

    The rest gets worse.
  • What type of venue was it, that it was so dirty.

Honestly, I'm a little disappointed. I expected more of a train wreck. What was wrong with their ceremony; nothing you posted seemed like a etiquette issue, just not your style. The money dance is terrible, and the cash bar, but other than the dirty venue (and the interesting attire) it doesn't sound like anything was that out of the ordinary.

Sorry, I was expecting more ;)

  • Again, I think the Hello Kitty and girl dressed as Little Mermaid are pretty kickass. That part doesn't seem like a trainwreck, just differences in taste, like @huskypuppy14‌ mentioned. I love when couples blend things they enjoy in their wedding.

However, the dirty venue, dollar dance, and cash bar are horrifying!!! My jaw dropped on the floor. How on earth would the bride, the family, the DOC, or anyone else not say or do something?

I googled this because I really really thought the latter. Thankfully, it's the former.
