Need some prayers ladies...NWR----- UPDATE on little man :) in the discussion

Hello everyone, 

I am writing today to ask for some special prayers and thoughts for a very dear friend of mine. She went into labor today and it was discovered that meconium ( the baby's first bowel) was present during labor and her baby ingested quite a bit. As of right now, he is not breathing on his own and the doctors have not given a good prognosis, they have asked everyone to leave, are no longer seeing visitors and are preparing for the worst. We are all hoping that "little one" pulls through. I am beyond heartbroken for her and  I am asking for prayers and strength for her and her family during this time.

Thank you everyone. Your prayers really mean a lot and I have been passing on well wishes to my friend. (We used to lurk here together before we got engaged and always loved reading the hilarious stories)

 I've only been able to get one update since leaving the hospital. We are being told that our city's NICU doesn't have the equipment needed to treat her baby. The doctors want to transport him by ambulance to a bigger hospital. Unfortunately, he is not stable enough to make the 4 hour trip and the breathing machine he is currently on (I think it's called an oscillator) does not fit in the ambulance. The decision is to either keep him here and hope his condition improves or risk transport. This would be a very hard decision for any parent and I cannot imagine what she is going through. 

Thank you all for keeping her in your prayers. I will keep you posted as we find out more information.
