My productive wedding weekend did not happen. Color me shocked. 

I did get my band designed, though. Only because my ring needed to be cleaned and I was already at the jeweler.

We went shopping for bands, and FI decided that he can't decide what he wants. 0 progress there lol

I got a couple small things crossed off my list and started a side project of adding more crystals to my veil.  That one's gonna take a little while, because my patience for drying glue isn't that great.

 

I managed to find some platform flip-flops online to order, for $15!  Score!  Except shipping was $11-boo.  I can't just walk into any store and find those kinds of shoes for my size 11.5 feet so I sucked it up and ordered them.

We chose a guest book finally. Which is funny because I never even wanted a guest book. Like at all. Seems like something that will just collect dust forever. But my mom was all "oooh! that makes me so sad. you won't have any record of who came to your wedding!" 

Ugh. I disagree but fine. If ordering a stupid guest book is seriously that big of a deal to her, I would rather just order the stupid thing than argue about it. I found a pretty one on Etsy that FI really liked so fine. Fine, mom. You win this one.

We are in the same boat with his ring, too. Back to the jeweler next weekend when he's in town. He is pickier than I am. Trying to space expenses out, so he needs to get on the stick.

I thought we were going to get a guest book from Shutterfly, but then we decided on the wine barrel card holder, so we picked up some Sharpies and will just have people sign that barrel instead.  Where the hell we'll display this barrel after the wedding remains to be seen.

I know, I walked in and I was like "thin rose gold band, plain" they showed me one and I said "that's the one. Done!" (We didn't buy it cuz they were way over-priced so we're going to check somewhere else.) The entire rest of the time we were in the store, FI was trying on almost every different band they had. He wanted something inlaid, not inlaid, thinner, wider, plainer, hammered, titanium, etched, plain.... I was like "wow I was not expecting this out of you" lol

Jewish wedding. Our bakery is making loaves of challah to serve with dinner, and they recommended putting them on bread boards-- basically little wooden cutting boards-- to serve. But of course the bakery doesn't have any, so we're going to rent some I think.

I think all I have left to do is figure out what to do with my hair, figure out which grocery stores have a nice floral selection so I can grab a cheapie bouquet, and call to make an actual appointment at the courthouse for the time we want. FI tried to call back in like November and they were like "Ummm, usually people just show up, but you can call back in like February or March..." Haha. But we're nerds and our anniversary is 3/3 so we want to get married at 3:30. Also that'll make it easy to take pictures around the French Quarter for a couple hours before dinner. We do still need to decide where we're having dinner, but I think we've narrowed it down to two, and between those two I think there's little competition. His face LIT UP when I showed him one, so that's probably going to be it.

Courthouse weddings are so easy.

We are getting the 20 gallon one from HERE - they engrave for free.  FI is gonna have to cut the slot in it for the cards to go in and come back out, lol.  I've seen some pre-made ones on Etsy, but they are kinda expensive.

@mobride2015‌ ohh I like free engraving. I browsed some etsy card holders but one of them that I liked was literally just cardboard covered in craft supplies for like $60. Nope. 

Plus I like that we could attach a lock to the wood of the barrel. I don't want something that opens really easily bc I'm paranoid like that. This (click) 1-liter barrel is $60.

I can't remember why we went for the larger barrel, but I think we were concerned about it not being big enough for some of the larger cards?  We may be worrying about that for nothing, lol.  

FI plans to put a hinged door on the back with a small padlock to keep it secure.  I will leave that up to him, because if I planned to do that, it would be a huge Pinterest fail.

I firmed up the DJ and I'm ordering invitations today. I chatted with FILs about the rehearsal dinner and we've just about got that all firmed up, too.

I did my hair trial this past weekend!!  1 more thing off the list!  And I'm dropping the envelopes off with the calligrapher this week.  Slowly making progress!

I super lucked out with the calligraphy thing. My mom took classes in it when she was younger and she's SO GOOD at it, so I got free calligraphy and it's gonna be done by this Friday! Wooo!!!

I super lucked out with the calligraphy thing. My mom took classes in it when she was younger and she's SO GOOD at it, so I got free calligraphy and it's gonna be done by this Friday! Wooo!!! 

You're so lucky about your mom!!  FI has the worst handwriting ever, and mine isn't nearly nice enough, so we're paying someone.  But luckily our invitationers gave us a really great discount card for their recommended calligrapher!

 

I do have pictures of my hair!!  I love it!  Hopefully my hair will grow another inch or two by the wedding (I got a trim right before the hair trial to remove the dead ends), but I love it!  I tried to attach the pics - I don't know if it worked though.  I can't see them on here on my work comp, but I think they attached.

Thanks!!  The hairdresser actually styled my hair for my bat mitzvah and my prom haha.  He said it was a first for him to do all 3 events for someone.  He's also giving me my makeup artist referral, which is fantastic.
