Spring has sprung!

Re: Spring has sprung!

  • Hopefully not at the same time!
I was thinking the same thing! Lol

  • tulips, opening the windows, no tights, sandals.

I came home from work yesterday and saw GRASS in my front yard for the first time in months.

Also, not having to dig out my car. I hate digging out my car.

  • Just the start of spring gives me such happy feelings. Being able to put my boots and sweaters away. Driving with the window open. And lilacs.

Funnily, where I grew up we didn't have much of a spring (lake-effect; we pretty much went from snow to 80 degrees overnight), so I always associated the smell of lilacs with June, because that's how late they bloom in southeastern Wisconsin.

Then I moved out here, and couldn't even figure out what was going on when I suddenly got a waft of deliciousness in like, April. Glorious!

We have a giant lilac bush in the way back corner of our backyard and I love that thing! As soon as it blooms, big dog will go out and lay under it for hours and hours and just stare into space. It's adorable. I can't decide if he does it for the shade or the smell.

But I love hacking a few of the little branches off to bring some inside so my house can smell that good :) (Word to the wise if you do this, check for bees first)

  • I think our lilacs bloomed a little later too... it's one of my favorite scents ever though.

Eeee I'll get to plant one at our new house! Or eight...

  • Going outside for walks - FI and I have gone out 3 times this week and strolled for a couple miles.  I actually JOGGED 2 miles outside over lunch today on the paved trail by work - it's so gorgeous outside!

  • I wish lilac and peonies bloomed longer. They are my FAVORITES!!!

Me too! And last year we realized we have a peony bush in our front yard! It hadn't bloomed the year before so we didn't know what it was. Last year I walked outside and was like "holy shit! YES!"

Ok, I have to do this in my backyard.
  • My favorite things are; wearing my bright dresses again, wearing flats again, opening windows, drinking coffee outside, and walking. V and I took our first walk of the season. It's one of my favorite things to do. We have so much fun, and our trails are full of ducks, groundhogs, bubbies, deer, and all other cute things.

  • Guys. We had this growing up a trellis on the entire side of our old house. It was absolutely gorgeous, and I want a trellis of it again. I don't know where I will put it but IT WILL HAPPEN. It always smelled fantastic and looked so full (even in winder when it was sticky, they were pretty sticks).
