I'm kind of grumbly today. A couple months back I decided it would be cool to volunteer for commencement, and I didn't realize until later that meant I'd have to miss my favorite band, who are playing in Orlando tonight. I'm not crying about it too much because I've seen them play three times before and it's a 2 1/2 hour drive for me each way, but man I can already tell this thing is going to be annoying. I got assigned to hand out programs, and yet I'm still expected to stay for the entire rehearsal, so there goes my work day (I'll try to find a way to sneak out though). Oh well. I guess it's still a nice thing to do. FI told me last night, "Hopefully you've learned your lesson. Never help anyone."

We're not sure if we're going to see his parents for Mother's Day. Maybe. I'm going to send my mom an edible arrangement. Other than that, we have no solid weekend plans. How about y'all? Enjoying your Saturday so far? Anything cool coming up?

It's been such a long week so I welcome Friday!

I am working late tonight for a movie in the park.

I'm throwing DH a surprise graduation party tomorrow evening since he doesn't get to go to graduation because of work. I'm really excited. Except, I have a lot to do. I have to clean the house, mow the yard and get tales and chairs to our house all before 430 tomorrow and somehow fit a shower in there somewhere. I ended up having 30 people say they were coming so cooking for 30, even if it is just hamburgers and hotdogs, is a lot of work.

The good news is, it's still a surprise. DH has no clue. I'm surprised I can pull this off.

Sunday lunch we're going to SIL's for MIL's Mother's Day and dinner is at my brother's for my mom.

This is DH and his staff's last weekend off until the end of October.   Not sure what we are going to do now.   We had tentative plans to go hiking, but the weather doesn't look like it will cooperate.  I saw a little snow icon next to Sun on the weather report.  

We are going bowling with DH's staff tomorrow.  We might invited people over to dinner on Sunday.  We will figure it out.

Tonight I'm bringing my pup Elle to my parents house to meet their dog Dodger!  Should be interesting haha.  Hopefully they get along and my parents can babysit her when I go to a wedding next week.

I need the time away from the city, my ex has been contacting me lately and even just seeing his name in my email upsets me and I finally had to tell him to stop contacting me or I'll get a restraining order (I don't even know if that's possibly for technology communications but I just can't take being so upset all the time.)

Sunday I just found out my brother is coming into NYC for the UPfronts and will therefore join us for Mother's Day brunch so I"m very excited!  Also doing some spin and just generally relaxing.

Yeah... I'm with your FI here hahaha. I'm sorry you're having to miss your favorite band!

My weekend is going to be very FI-less, and I'm not excited about it. He's working tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday. It's been a looooong time since he's worked both weekend days, so I'm not happy about losing him all weekend. I've gotten spoiled.

BUT! Tonight my sisters and I are going to pick out my mom's Mother's Day gift, and at some point between now and 5:30 I need to get a Mother's Day card for FMIL and put it in the mail... Oops. Not used to mailing Mother's Day cards.

And then Saturday I'm taking my baby sister and possibly my mom to look at the museum we're thinking about booking for the ceremony. Our first choice is to have it all in the restaurant, but the room is long and narrow, as is the outdoor space, so we have to figure that out. 

And then Sunday I think I'm going to try out something new and fancy for Mom's Mother's Day dinner. I'm thinking about making homemade hamburger and hot dog buns and having a grill-out, but I gotta get with my brother and sisters to figure out what they're thinking. There are days when I love having siblings, but whenever I gotta wrangle the Sibling Committee it gets annoying haha.

Tonight I'm picking my best friend up at the train and we're baking a cake for our friend's birthday party. 

Saturday - friend's picnic birthday party at the park 

Sunday - Mother's Day breakfast with my mom and grandma. After that, running errands and cleaning the house.

I'm going to a friend's birthday tonight so that should be fun. I'll be able to catch up with some people that I never see anymore so that'll be really nice.

Then the rest of the weekend I'm hoping to get back on my fitness schedule-I somehow pulled a muscle in my back while sleeping so it's been super painful all week! So weird but it's finally cleared up.

I'm getting a pedicure with a girlfriend on Saturday. That's all I got!

We have a super shady area next to our house that I've been dying to make into a shade garden. So I might do that before I'm too massive to pick things up without one of those little stick grabbers.

We're just grilling out tonight. Tomorrow there is an art festival in town so we are going to that. I have to leave for a work trip on Sunday afternoon so I won't get to spend mother's day with my mom, but I did get her this awesome gift.

I've settled on the Deathly Hallows symbol from HP haha! I was planning on getting a really small one on my wrist but I think I'm changing my mind to getting it on my back/shoulder area. It just seems easier to cover up in case I'm not wearing long sleeves at work and forget to wear my watch that day (I work at a pretty conservative company).

FIs parents are in town this weekend! Taking a half day today to run errands before they arrive. This weekend will be a mix of touristy things and mother's day things. Also, checking out our current top choice for wedding bands after dinner tonight

Tonight H and I are going back to our childhood days and building a blanket fort in our living room and eating junk food while watching movies! I am way more excited than I should be about this haha!

We have a huge arrangement of flowers being delivered to MIL's work today since we are 2 states away and won't see her on Mother's Day. I am looking forward to hearing about what she thinks!

Tomorrow H and I are going shopping for my mom's gift and then I think we may try to make a matinee movie. Then we will take my mom out to her favorite restaurant.

Sunday my family gets together and celebrates all of the moms. We will do brunch at my grandma's and pass out gifts. I am excited for that!

We're moving tomorrow! Ack, still so much to do. And I'm at work, totally useless. MIL is packing up our kitchen for us later today (happy mother's day?) Hoping to sneak out a bit early this afternoon so I can get back, change my clothes, and finish painting the living room before it gets too dark, since we haven't moved over the lamps yet and there's no overhead light. Has to be painted before they move in the piano and bookshelves tomorrow. And there are some little baby trees growing from helicopters off our big tree, AND a little sprout off our Japanese maple, so I'm going to pot those up and take them with us so we'll always have a piece of our first home in our new home.

Brunch at MIL's house on Sunday... won't see my mom for two weeks because the crazy lady booked herself some health conference all weekend.

Still need to figure out a mother's day gift for Sunday. Normally I'm good at this but not this time.

We are 3 weeks out from the wedding so doing some final prep stuff.  Have a ceremony draft that we need to edit/comment on so the officiant can tweak it.  Rehearsal/dinner invites need to go out, and we need to pick some songs to give the DJ.

Other than that it looks like rain most of the weekend, so just hoping to get in a run and maybe do some chores.

@lacquredlover I did! That is so crazy and scary. We're not too far from that street either.

It's going to be a gorgeous weekend in New England so we're taking our dog hiking tomorrow (she's a beagle who looooooves "big girl walks" and pees/poops on everything and sniffs everything), and on Sunday my sisters and I are taking my mom out for oysters and wine at a cozy place on the ocean up north.

I'm so happy it's Friday. This has been a weird and crazy busy week. We basically ended up with an event every night this week so now I just want to stay home and be boring. And play my video game. It's making me feel anti-social, hopefully I mostly get over it by Saturday since we can sleep in and recharge a bit. Thankfully we think our house inspection went well! Just waiting on the radon. 

Tonight we're having some friends over for games. Should be fun, we don't get to hang with this couple very frequently (FI sees the guy more often) but they were a lot of help with the wedding so I want to do something nice for them.

Saturday we have plans to go to the Hapsburg's exibit at the museum. I've never been to this museum in the 8 years I have lived in the city and I should be excited to go, but right now I'm too tired. And after the museum if I feel motivated, I'm taking H to the NO restaurant my friend said was really good.

Sunday we don't really have Mother's Day plans. My Mom is going to be in my hometown and we've been too busy to plan to go see her. At least I think I get to see her on Wednesday before they leave the country. MIL was supposed to be in Memphis but we just heard she's not going. So maybe we'll take her out for lunch, it'll be up to H.

This weekend I am catching up on the PVR from when we were on honeymoon, and DH is teaching me how to cook because I'm absolutely useless in the kitchen.

Well, since the Hawks swept the Wild (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), my game 5 plans for tomorrow were cancelled. Tonight I'm playing bingo with some friends and Sunday I don't think we have anything planned. The restaurant where we got married is having a Mother's Day brunch and I wanted to go but my H so sympathetically said, "Why? You're not a mother." Thanks, Dickbag.

I was originally supposed to go to our corporate office to do software testing on an upgrade for our database system, but they've back off on us having to do that as long as we get our testing done before tomorrow. I'm on my last module, so I should be done by lunchtime.

Instead of going to the office tomorrow, I'm going to cross-stitch like mofo to get some pieces done before I start my professional development classes for work. I'm also going to try to get all the adulting done so I can relax on Sunday. My mom's not really into doing anything for Mother's Day, so I'll probably drop off a card and go about the rest of my day.

Love hearing everyone's Mother's Day plans!

Tonight my 2 friends are coming over for pizza, champagne and to watch Romy & Michele's High School Reunion. We've been planning it for months and had to reschedule already so I'm excited.

Tomorrow I am picking up my wedding dress!!!! I am SO excited. My mom and BFF are going with me and then we are going for lunch. No plans tomorrow night but I've been feeling run down so I am probably going to stay in and watch a movie or something.

Sunday we have lunch with FI's family for Mother's Day and I am making a jalapeno dip and then dinner at the local casino with my family. Gifts are done, just going to pick up some flowers tomorrow night as well.

Such perfect beautiful weather that anything happening will be extraordinary. 

I'm super excited and happy.  I did my first major outdoor sign, seven feet long and delivered it early yesterday morning. Added bonus that it was going to my favorite neighborhood in the city, and I love Pike Place Market, but on a flawless morning, I love it more. Everything smelled of fresh salt air and the French bakery and flowers and coffee. It looked like this:

and just one of those days where, hell yes, I love my city.

And the store owner didn't just like the sign, she loved it so much she cried. Actually cried. It's a kind of pale turquoise (Lolo blue) with an acanthus wreath and a very chubby bumblebee and good Victorian looking fonts, and soooo excited! 

So sign is being hung either tomorrow or Sunday, and I'm going back to take pictures, and now I feel like I'm part of the market neighborhood, which is making me absurdly happy. 

So sign picture taking, bow tie shopping for Moose's prom, lunch with Mom, Grandma, and daughter Sunday.

Today, cleaning up the back porch, hanging lights, and getting it ready for summer.

I'm so sorry you're going through that. It is definitely possible to get an order for him to stop contacting you. It may be easier or harder depending on the content of his messages. Save every email/text/phone bill with his calls listed, even though I know it's probably hard on you. And PM me if you need help/have questions about it. My sorority did volunteer work with the local women's shelter, so I'm at least somewhat familiar with this stuff.

Thanks. I just kind of looked at him. Like, "Are you kidding me right now?". I mean, yes, I am not a mother but the fact that my mother just freaking died makes this holiday hard. I think he knows he was shitty because he's been kissing my ass since then. We'll have to talk about it tonight. 

Anyway, I hope your move is smooth and happy first mother's day to you!

Not sure what we're doing tomorrow, besides taking the pup to the groomers. She desperately needs a (professional) bath and a nail trim.

Sunday we're going to surprise DF's mom and grandma. His parents are going to his grandparents house and all of them will be going to his grandpa's country club's annual mother's day brunch. DF's dad is in on the plan, so we're going to show up right before they leave for brunch and surprise his mom/grandma.

Rain rain and more rain.  That's our forecast. They're saying it might even snow (?!?!?!) on Sunday.  A small tornado touched down a bit north of our house yesterday.  Gotta love Colorado spring.

Both of our mothers are far away so our weekend will just be getting stuff done around the house.  We have lots of boxes and random stuff laying around in both the basement and garage since we moved in in Feb (yes, 3 months ago) so I'd like to work on organizing that.  FI has boxes that are full of stuff from his college days.  I'm like ummm, you're 32 now, time to let go.  haha!

It's supposed to be absolutely beautiful weather here this weekend. 21C. Which I cant believe as it was -5 and blizzarding on Tuesday but hey, Ill take it!

FI is going out of town on Monday for 5 days, so we will probably just have a lazy weekend together. Go for a walk, sit out in the sun. drink some wine. We have a bunch of stuff that we need to get done, but I prefer to keep busy while he is away, so that will give me something to do.

We took a day off today for a big busy wedding-related weekend!

This morning we picked up our marriage license (yay!) This afternoon I go do my hair trial and get a mani/pedi. Tomorrow we meet with our venue coordinator.

It's a beautiful, very warm, sunny day and spring has finally really arrived up here in frozen northern New England. We're going to spend a lot of time sitting on the deck sipping gin & tonics, and probably go find a mountain to hike. I'm a very happy bride-to-be!
