ETA: According to the IKEA website, the name is technically supposed to be in all caps, but regardless, it's DEFINITELY not iKea.

The IKEA name combines the initials of IKEA founder, Ingvar Kamprad, (IK) with the first letters from the names of the farm and village where he grew up
- Elmtaryd and Agunnaryd (EA).

@MissKittyDanger Seriously? How often do we talk about fucking Apple products here? You've done this at least twice now and it'd be really awesome if you could get it right. Like, where is the habit coming from? Nobody is sitting here talking about their iPhone activities, or the latest song on their iPod on a regular basis so I just don't get it? Call this an irrational irritation or whatever you want, but PLEASE it's Ikea!

@goldenpenguin - im with you too. im at an agency and we bill all our time too. plus one girl left so im now covering her stuff and her backfill hasnt started yet....its just madness. hence ive been MIA and/or really late to threads. 

i have a few things to mention quickly...i cant remember what ive already posted so apologies if this is a repeat....

FI and i bought our wedding bands! we picked them out 2 weeks ago but our jeweler suggested waiting until the 15th to purchase because it was our tax-free weekend. it saved us about $200, so that was awesome of him to suggest! they should be here in about 3 weeks. 

last night i went BM dress shopping with my MOH and 1 of my BMs. we went to a private store first and it was annoying because they had each dress in 1 color, and it was hard to tell if i liked a dress when it was in a color i didnt like. the sales lady was annoying too. she told me not to look at the color. i understand, lady, but its hard to look past a color you really detest and/or is very unflattering on the girl wearing it. we went to Davids afterwards and that was so much better. they have most dresses in a varitey of colors, so i was able to get a good feel for the dresses. there were 4 dresses i saw on the website that i really liked, and i have 4 BMs. i plan to have each girl in a different dress, but all the dresses are from the same line so they still look cohesive. 

this location had 3 of the 4 dresses there, so they were able to try them all one. one of my BMs loved on the styles, and my MOH liked 1. my MOH and i are going to another DB tonight to try on the 4th style. then she  will decide which one she likes best. then  this weekend i fly to Raleigh to visit my other 2 BMs and go dress shopping. im hoping they each like 1 of the 2 styles that are left. theyre pretty simple styles so i doubt they will have any major objections. 

as for colors, i am debating between amethyst and charcoal.

the other major thing is the FI and i decided to move on December 1st. unfortunately we cant sign a new lease anywhere yet because its too far out, so we had to kind of take a leap of faith that something will work out. i just needed to get out of out 430 sq ft apartment and out of the city in general. im tired of having to hunt for parking and some of the general nuisances of city living. one of my neighbors stole a package of mine last week before i got home (a jean jacket from the Gap....way to go asshole) and that was kind of my final straw. this is the 2nd time a package of mine has been stolen from our lobby. the places we are looking at are in complexes where the management office will receive packages for us when we arent home.

ok back to work now....i will AW pics of dresses and rings in a few hours when i come back up for air.

@Cocobellaf and @lavenderfields13 - I do have insurance (In fact, I do have USAA!).  I'll have to check that out.  Honestly I'm not sure what my insurance covers and what it doesn't, because I've never had to use it.  I've never had a wreck and my car has been mercifully spared from storm damage.  The only thing I've ever had to use was the roadside assistance when I got stuck on the ice in front of my own house and couldn't get out...

Please remind me, what are you thinking color and style wise for your wedding? I'm partial to charcoal (and biased, it's a flattering color on everyone and it was the color my BMs wore), but I'm sure amethyst would be gorgeous too!

work vent: i come in this morning to a crisis on one of my accounts. since i got in ive been working on it and just finished around 145. so ive basically been ignoring email all day. once i finished work crisis, i did a few other tasks that are supposed to be done first thing in the morning. now im finally turning my attention to email and i see an email from 1245 asking me to work on a presentation....and then a follow up at 145 asking if i can confirm i saw the initial email. the person who sent these emails sits next to me and knows ive been working on the crisis all day. 

fuck this job.

@jenjen047 yeah I've been complaining that our current apartment is too small and then after the couple other places we've seen I feel like I'm in a palace when I get home lol. Omg I just saw that your place is 430 sq ft! Yeah it's rough out there looking for an apartment unless you have a big budget and parking is on my must haves list! I cannot deal with another winter hoping that I have somewhere to park when I get home when there's 10 ft of snow on the ground.

Also, I love BMs in different dresses! I honestly really don't like when everyone looks the same. Love the dresses you posted above! Would you be willing to have some in charcoal and some in amethyst and then you don't need to pick either one?

@jenjen047 I personally think grey BM dresses look drab in pictures but no offense to anyone who had them, just my 2 cents! That sucks about your package- where are you looking to move? Highrise condo in like Natick or is that too far out?

@jenna8984 FWIW I ADORED the dresses and how they appeared in photos. The flowers really popped against them. Oh and I definitely won't hate a dark gray like you would bubblegum pink or bright yellow 20 years down the road. Sorrynotsorry if you think my amazing photos are boring.

This look says soft, clean, classic, and chic to me.
