    Hawks fan here. :)

Oh god we can't be friends then.  ;)

I lived in Chicago for a long time, including during 2010, so most of my friends are Hawks fans.

LOL!  Pretty much.  The Avalanche are shall we say... a very frustrating team to be a fan of.  Lots of WHAT ARE YOU DOING yelling going on during some games.  I admit though, I cheer for the Hawks whenever they aren't playing the Avs.  Especially when playing the Blues or the Wild.  HATE the Wild.
Hey! We're not that bad! MN teams never win anything unless you follow WNBA.
Funny, cause a lot of the Wild fans acted like they won the fucking Stanley Cup last year cause they made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.
I forgot - please remind me - who did they lose to last year? :P

Exactly haha!  And yet, many Wild fans even this year acted like they won it all just by making it that far.  So annoying.  At least I admit my team can really suck sometimes.

  • @julieanne912 that's exactly what Blues fans are like in my experience. Wild fans have always been really nice when I've encountered them. Vikings fans, though, are terrible.

But I heard that Hawks fans have a bad reputation and are supposed to be total asses. All this probably depends on region.

Neither am I. That was my point - different regions and fan bases will have different interpretations of other regions and fan bases.

I just base it on how they act when they come here for a game.  Hawks fans are usually pretty nice... there's SHITLOAD of them, but they're nice for the most part.  Blues fans usually are fine too.  The Wild fans get out of control.  At the end of last season there was an 8pm Saturday game (which is usually a shitshow anyway due to the late start time), but there were 3 separate fan fights during the game, one in our section.  Now, not all the Avs fans were angels too but the Wild fans certainly weren't helping.  One guy 2 rows ahead of us started yelling at the usher because she wouldn't let him jump out of his seat during every big play to go pound on the glass (he wasn't in the first row).  On opening night this year when we played the Wild, I was going into the bathroom towards the end of the first period... this girl who was probably early 20s, in a Wild jersey, was stumbling out all drunk off her ass.  I was like, Jesus Christ sister, it's barely 8pm on a Thursday.

  • Please.  Up north here, I'm an Edmonton Oilers girl.  We are the winners of losers.  At least we usually win the draft though.  ;)

  • @QueenofGlitz how'd you become a Hawks fan? I feel like its sacrilegious to cheer for any Chicago team if you're from WI

That is what it feels like around here with the Cubs. There are a lot of Cubs fans here in Indy and you would have thought they won the World Series a week or so again instead of just making it to the playoffs especially with all of the bandwagon fans coming out of nowhere. I'm happy for them making the playoffs and then winning some and fans can celebrate but save the big celebration for actually making it to the World Series or winning!

I've been a hockey fan all my life - I was never super into the NHL though. I was a Milwaukee Admirals fan and went to every game as my mom always got free tickets when I was younger. Just from watching every NHL game I ever could, I just really liked the Hawks. I WAS a Penguins fan for awhile, though.
