Confession: I took a nap yesterday when I got home from work for an hour and I had a dream that I forgot I was pregnant and had a large gulp of of wine then remembered I was pregnant and (reluctantly) threw out the rest of the wine.   

II: I posted something similar to confession #1 above (i.e., whining that I want a glass of wine) on a Mom-To-Be board and got one lady who said she "just couldn't relate" to people missing wine (clearly in response to me but without the balls to actually tag me) and "its only 9 months".  Fuck you lady.   In the same vein, however, I should stop whining about things I chose to do (i.e., not drink during pregnancy).  

UO: I love reading but haven't gotten into a book lately.  I read hundreds of pages each day at work and when I get home my eyes are tired but I miss really getting into a good book.  As a kid, my favorite place was the library (yes, I was "that" kid).  

II: I agree that saying "we are pregnant" makes no sense.  "We are expecting" might be ok (sort of) but I always feel like you have to finish the sentence....what are you expecting, a puppy? a pony? Its stupid but it irritates me.

@peaseblossom55 in re: bathroom, we just talked about this at work! If there's a line for the bathroom in our office, we have to use the public bathroom and it's DISGUSTING all the time. Like what the fuck are you doing in there?

Another confession: Every time I use the bathroom and someone takes the stall next to me I immediately think of @swazzle and her irritation with it.  I also mentally scream "Really?!? Why that fucking stall?!?" in my head.

Right but that's because she usually has an II ABOUT the novels or something else that basically a bunch of people do and then they continue to do it anyway but make sure to add "Sorry @Swazzle" at the end. It's fucking hilarious!

AHH yes. Maybe if @swazzle wasn't such a jerk, everyone wouldn't be so sorry.

Seriously though... I wasn't entirely sure how to take this. I truly hope that I'm not thought of as the mean Regina George around here. I know that I'm honest/outspoken and that's probably not for everyone but it would make me sad to know that you all secretly hate me

I swear, one of these days, I'm going to be in just the right mood when someone takes the stall right next to me and I'm just going to scream "WHYYYYYYY!??!?!"

@minskat30 I was that kid too!! Still am. I LOVE my local library and spend a lot of time there for school. I miss recreational reading too, but it still feels good to be there.

@minskat30 People using the stall next to me is also one of MY irritations! There are THREE other fucking stalls to choose from that aren't right next to me!

ETA: I also spent tons of time in the library as a teen when I had time to kill.

@minskat30 & @untouchablets - my town library is a 10 minute walk from my parent's house. I was a library volunteer all throughout middle and high school, and I still go back to say hello to everyone whenever I'm in town. So I join your "that kid" club too!

UO: I don't like beer or wine. Judge away

Confession: I never make donations on my own so I always say "yes" when I'm asked at the register because I feel guilty. 
@labro that article is why I hate Salvation Army. I boycott a group/brand when they publicly announce that they're homophobes. I had to stop eating Barilla pasta and Cracker Barrel cheese because of it. 

UO: I wrap some stocking gifts depending on what they are to make it seem like there's more to open.

Confession: I don't get people who get so up in arms about "Happy Holidays" or "Keep Christ in Christmas". Yes, it's Christmas time and I say Merry Christmas to people who I know celebrate but if I'm not sure then I say Happy Holidays. Who the fuck cares? 

@TwoDimes your Christmas tree UO makes me sad. We always had a fake one growing up and it didn't make Christmas any less special  Also some people are allergic to real ones.

@swazzle - You aren't mean Regina.  I really value friends who are honest and outspoken.  I feel like even when I'm not ready to hear something from one of my honest friends, I file it away and try to bring it out later and ponder it.  In my opinion, if someone cares about you and takes the time to express that concern in a nice way, their concern is worth thinking about some more.

II: The three people who cook fish in the office microwave EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I'm still mostly anosmic from surgery, but I can smell some things if they have a very bad, very strong smell. I do NOT want to smell this.

II: The bar I go to for lunch has been playing Christmas carols at top volume all week. It just seems weirdly incongruous, and grates on my nerves the whole time.

Confession: My extended family sucks and I am seriously considering returning all their presents and not going to our family party on Christmas. I would catch so much flak for it, but I don't know that I care.

I judge: Myself. I have been allowing myself to get treated horribly by the person who is supposed to love me most in the world. I absolutely, 100% know that I should be completely done with him, but I think because it went from incredible, near-perfection, we're-going-to-get-married-in-the-next-six-months to a shitty, emotionally abusive freak-out literally overnight, my heart can't catch up with my brain in the knowing. I feel completely pathetic. 

Confession: Because of all the crap with T on top of my pituitary completely crashing and not producing the right hormones, I'm the most depressed I've ever been, and it's a little scary. 

UO: I love pumpkin spice, but I'm super over the fact that EVERYTHING now comes in that flavor. Pumpkin Spice Oreos and Pumpkin Spice M&Ms don't need to be a thing.

@wink0erin - Totally agree with your wanting the BSC to come out and play. I really could use some entertainment.

@labro - I never donate at stores and also feel like an asshole. I have a specific amount set aside annually for donations to charities that mean something to me and which I've vetted. I don't just want to randomly give to other ones. Plus, I like to be able to deduct that on my taxes.

@twodimes - My coworker also clips her nails and it literally makes me gag and I have to get up and wander the office until she's done so I can't hear it. 

@untouchablets - I absolutely judge people who go to breeders for dogs. I know not all breeders are disreputable, but it just makes me stabby anyway. My boss, who clearly also works in animal welfare, just told me that when they get a dog he's going to a breeder. WHY?!

II: MY SHITTY ASS DOCTOR. I really am not just looking for drugs, lady. I fucking need them. So GIVE ME THE GOD DAMN DRUGS. The fact that I know someone else who has gone to the doctor, gotten a second opinion, diagnosed with the same thing, and gotten a prescription for the drug that I need - ALL AFTER I STARTED THIS PROCESS - literally makes my head want to explode.

I called a psychiatrist this morning to try to set up an appointment. Fingers crossed.

@helloliv I am getting my dog from a breeder. Its for performance purposes so I need a dog that has an established pedigree of competition dogs with solid temperaments because I'll be doing bite sports. I get that not everyone loves breeders, but if you go for a good one with health guarantees who are ethical, they don't really contribute to overpopulation. Its the people who get dogs because they're cute or popular, who buy them from backyard breeders or pet stores, those are the ones who are the problem. And IMO many rescues make it harder for themselves to adopt. Most that I know of require six foot fences and someone home all day with the dog. It doesn't help.

@helloliv Re: breeders... i2i. There are so many dogs that need adopted or rescued. A reputable breeder is one thing, but where I'm at most the breeders are backyard breeders and don't give a squat about their dogs. It makes me sad.

@TwoDimes Me and H have gotten a real one since we've lived together. I'm too cheap to buy a fake one even though it would save money in the long run! I do love the smell of a real tree. Having a fake one was just normal to me as a kid. I would always help put the tree together lol.

If you're showing the dog, I understand getting it from a breeder. You have to understand that I come from the regulatory side of things where we license pet shops, register shelter/rescue groups, and regulate breeders. I deal with this day in and day out every day, and I have come across very few breeders that I would consider truly ethical in the New England area. That definitely colors my view. I also don't think that the average pet owner "needs" a pure-bred dog to make a good household pet. People will argue that they can be bred for temperament, etc., but in my experience and through the research that has been done through the course of my work, that's often not the case. Having worked directly in a shelter, I saw tons of dogs from reputable (not puppy mill) breeders get relinquished, because it seems, anecdotally, that people who purchase dogs have higher expectations about their behavior and are less apt to be patient with unwanted behavior. Some rescues do make it ridiculously hard to adopt, and I personally have worked with many of them to create better adoption policies to encourage more people to choose adoption.

UO: I got my dog from a breeder and probably will always get my dogs from one, I would never get a dog from a backyard breeder or a pet store though. I can't even go into stores that sell dogs because I'll either a) buy every one or b) cry my eyes out.

@helloliv that's because people dont do their research before getting a dog and they don't train them. Most behavior problems are TRAINING issues rather than personality issues and that's why they're relinquished. Additionally, people don't research where their dogs are coming from, so they see an ad in the paper for puppies or a pet store advertising cocka-doddle-doos and go buy one and that "breeder" has made a quick buck without having to do anything, to the detriment of the dogs. A good breeder health tests, socializes, and make huge investments in their dogs with very little return. Those are the ones people should support because they're doing it for the advancement of the breed that they love.

I agree that most people don't need a purebred pet dog and should adopt, but for those who want one (or prefer them, like myself and my social circle) ethical breeders are the way to go.

UO: I will be EXTREMELY sad if we don't have snow for Christmas. I'm not complaining about the warm temperatures, but it's December. Give me some snow!!
