@MissKittyDanger - I agree with @labro and wouldn't discuss financial issues like raises with anyone at work, even friends.  Friendships at work are great but money talks with those friends can lead to resentment pretty quickly if you want to keep those friendships.  I think that is just one of those things you should be happy about but keep to yourself and your family.  Congrats though!

@labro @minskat30  oh this wouldn't be to my co-workers, it would be to friends outside work. Yes this was really unexpected. Actually, I was thinking of surprising him with going for a nice dinner once it started

@minskat30 Agreed on the differing cultures/holidays. I'm glad I don't have to worry about splitting Christmas between two families. It could be a little crazy if/when we get married and have children, but this is something we've already discussed so I'm not too worried about it.

I know! We have been planning this for how long now?!!!! Anyways we fly in on the 23rd and we are there until Jan. 2nd. I hope something during that time works for you too!

I'm actually really looking forward to raising a kid with two different cultures and holidays.  Its very important for both of us to raise our kids understanding both of our cultures.

II: Why does "reply" not mean "forward" out of the sent folder in Outlook? Under what circumstance would I ever want to "reply" to an email from that folder? Unless I'm having a "self, I need to know this" moment - in which case I would make a note elsewhere - this makes no sense.

@minskat30 Me too! I feel like any weirdness would be with the parents/families/outsiders. It's already agreed our kid would be raised Jewish, but we would still have my holidays. I've never been an over-the-top holiday person so I don't think we will have any issues together, but I'm sure others will have opinions.

@labro @aurorarose41 Ugh of course the BSC popped in after I was gone for the day. I'm glad I checked back in. Can I request that all BSC occur on weekdays? That would be optimal.

Thanks for that! My internet was out all day today . Also, that's the first time I have ever been called psuedo-mean, miserable, immature, and told my fiance probably isn't a fiance for anything on the boards! I insinuated a little but that's how I interpreted her statement.
