-I'm too short to tell I think if I'm carrying high or low without 3rd party opinions.  I am loosing my belly button rapidly...my innie is almost out of room but there isn't much room to begin with in my torso, which makes me think "high" but baby is also stomping on my bladder all the time so there's that.  I will let you judge...this is today..



What has been the baby's heartrate at your appointment(s)? Over 140 = girl, Under 140 = boy

-Heartrate at the first ultrasound was 160, as the second was 150 so over 140 here.

Are you craving sweets or salty/sour things? Sweets = girl. Salty/sour = boy.

-Both.  I usually crave salty/sour things normally though and the sweets craving is new to me.

Pimples - are you breaking out like crazy? Yes = girl. No = boy.

-I was breaking out in the first trimester but now all pimples are gone thankfully.

Morning sickness. Have you been sick as a dog? Yes = girl. No = boy.

-Very nauseous all day in the first trimester and a week or so into the second.  Now I feel great.

Good morning! It's official! The leaky dishwasher/new carpet saga is over!!! The guys came and installed our new carpet yesterday (after only 3 months of waiting and lots of back and forth with our insurance company). They got it all done in one day but weren't done until 8pm. After they left H and I went out and grabbed dinner then watched the Bachelor. Tonight we'll be moving all of our furniture back which will be so nice! We realized that this time last year is when the seller agreed to our price for the house, so it's almost like moving in all over again! It's good timing to get everything back in order though, because Friday is my birthday!!!

@southernpeach89 - I'm actually kind of sorry I missed the game (even though I wasn't rooting for anyone). I heard it was really exciting!
@caseface5 - I love Zumba but haven't tried a class at home. I'll have to look into that!
@Peaseblossom55 - I need to start going to bed earlier too. I don't usually get to bed until 11:30ish also and it kills me every morning.
@swazzle - Yeah, meal planning isn't the funnest thing. I usually do mine at work when I'm bored.
@untouchablets - Awww! She's adorable!
@minskat30 - Try not to stress about it and definitely let us know how everything goes!
@labro - I have no suggestions, but I'm with you! That sounds like a fun drinking game.
@jenna8984 - How cool! My BFF and I always joked about how we want to be pregnant at the same time someday.

@speakeasy14 Unfortunately I got my rips while using my gloves lol. My hands got so soft during my pregnancy that the moment I started doing my unassisted pull-ups again my hands were like wtf....

@speakeasy14 - I am trying to justify keeping HF too. I really like it , ad like @swazzle, it has definitely helped us cut down on food waste and eating out. We'll see.

FI's family flew out from Ireland yesterday. It was the first time I met his dad or his other brother. We had a nice dinner and thankfully we were home by 9. His dad likes to stay out late and that's just not me, especially on a weeknight and especially when I know there will be plenty of partying later this week/weekend. I'm hoping for a similar routine tonight but who knows.

My last wedding errands is to get our seating chart printed at FedEx today. We ordered one that looks like this except with a slightly different font (this is just the sample from Etsy):


Tomorrow we go to the venue to drop off all our stuff (favors, placecards, etc). I cannot wrap my brain around  the fact that I'm getting MARRIED on Saturday! I am so beyond excited!!! The only thing that is giving me butterflies is our first dance.  We aren't doing anything fancy, just middle school style slow dancing, but for some reason it's making me nervous. I think I'm scared my dress is going to throw me off and we will trip on it or something, I don't know.

Oh also the weather forecast allllll last week had sunny and 34 degrees for Saturday. All of a sudden yesterday it turned to rainy and 46. BOO. I don't mind the warmer weather but I don't like the rain since we are supposed to take pictures outside. Hopefully we can get a break in the rain for just an hour to do our pics! Everyone cross your fingers!

@jenjen047 Sometimes lol. She started sleeping for longer stretches at around 2 months old. She would sleep from 9-5 most nights up until she turned 3 months at the end of December and I think she started hitting sleep regression. She has some good nights and some bad nights. On her bad nights she will wake every hour but her good nights she will probably only wake up once or twice. Hopefully this will get back to normal but research says this only lasts a little while.

@minskat30 I predict girl! Your pregnancy symptoms sound like mine minus the nausea...it really wasn't terrible for me but I had the breakouts and the cravings and Callie's heartbeat was pretty fast for those first ultrasounds. It slows down the bigger they get.

@jenjen047 HAPPY WEDDING WEEK!! I hope it doesn't rain for you on Saturday! However, my hairdresser has a gorgeous picture of her on her wedding day, with her H cuddled under an umbrella and it's awesome, so if it does rain, I hope you can get a nice picture like that!

Are you carrying high or low?  I have no idea.  My OB said my uterus is right at my belly button, so, whatever that means.

What has been the baby's heartrate at your appointment(s)? The first one was in the 170's and at my last appointment it was ~163.

Are you craving sweets or salty/sour things?  No cravings.

Pimples - are you breaking out like crazy?  Thank God that this is a NO!  It's the only good "symptom" I'm experiencing.

Morning sickness. Have you been sick as a dog?  Yup.


You all decide!  H thinks it's a girl, I feel like maybe it's a boy but I really don't know.  My reasoning is that only H's mini-me could wreak this much havoc on his poor mother.

@CocoBellaF I dunno. It sounds like carrying high? I say your symptoms definitely tend to lead toward girl! FWIW - my friend had terrible horrible cystic acne in her first pregnancy and it was a boy, her second pregnancy she just had gorgeous skin throughout and it was a girl.

@speakeasy14 - I agree but the only reason I was thinking "boy" was because of my dreams and the old wives' tale there says if you are dreaming about a specific sex you are having the opposite.  Whatever, I'll know tomorrow and be 100% over the moon either way.  

@jenjen047 - Ahhh!!! 4 days!  I'm so excited for you!

@labro - Just saw your post on baby dreams...I think baby dreams are supposed to mean something new is happening in your life (not necessarily a baby) so maybe its your raise and you moving on up in life.  

@beachyone15 - Thank goodness the carpet saga is done.

@southernpeach89 - I never threw up once (yet) but that isn't saying much as I haven't thrown up since I was 8 or so years old.  

@cocobellaf - Ha!  I think boy for you guys for the very same reason...only a mini-version of your husband can cause this much chaos for you.  Kidding.

Forgot to mention that my cousin's wedding might be a shitshow. I'm flying out for it in 3 weeks. It's at his dad's house and I've only been there once years ago so last night I texted him asking if I could wear heels/ what the yard is like. He said he doesn't recommend it, although the bride will be. So crap, I need to find some cute flats now. I asked how many guests, he said 120. I asked what kind of food they are having and he said "We haven't decided yet. Probably spaghetti and meatballs because it's cheap and we're poor". I was just like "heck yea, yum!" but in my head I'm like how the F do you not know when it's 3 weeks away?! I can't imagine a caterer still being up in the air so now I'm thinking maybe it's not even catered?? We shall see........!

Last day of prep before I teach! Today is to learn how to use Blackboard to upload things and make my homework key for my first assignment. I also need to track down a prof and borrow his copy of one of my books, as the suggested homework problems make no sense.

After work I'm hoping to go to Sephora and learn how to use minimal makeup. I'm on camera, after all - my lectures are recorded for distance students. I was going to watch Netflix, but I suppose I should be a good 'merican and watch the SOTU while I knit on the huge couch blanket of doom.

@minskat30 My only experience with pregnancy dreams is with my SIL who dreamed she was pregnant and guess what...she actually was!! But I like your interpretation much more!

@cocobellaf - Ahh!! cute bump and cute Momma!  I say low but I'm comparing you to me in saying that...I'm definitely "center" bump right now I think.  I think early on though you carry low and it starts to move on up.  Given the fact that we are both shorties, I anticipate it will be all bump for us in time.

@jenjen047 Don't worry about the weather-- you can't control it, and it won't make or break your day, I promise! As a lot of the ladies on here pointed out to me, you can actually get some really awesome pictures outside in the rain. Either way, your day will be perfect.
@CocoBellaF Have you had any dreams about the sex of the baby? I've heard it's normally the opposite of what you dream.
@KeptInStitches YouTube is also great for learning how to use makeup. It's helped me tremendously. While you're at Sephora, I highly recommend picking up one of Urban Decay's Naked palettes if you don't already have one. They are amazing!

Wow, two pages already. You guys are chatty!

I stayed home from work yesterday due to a sore throat and an upset stomach. H said I sounded like a sexy trucker. 0_0 Back at work today though. Waaaah.

Today is H's birthday. We aren't officially celebrating until Saturday, but I'm going to surprise him tonight with a small get-together. While we're at Zoey's training class, a couple of our friends will pick up food from his favorite restaurant and surprise him with dinner and hookah when we get home. I bought a little cheesecake for tonight too, but he thinks it's just for the two of us. It's not as epic as the big surprise dinner he threw for me last summer, but I think he'll be happy.

My MOH is now engaged! YAY! We went to her surprise engagement party Saturday night, and she was on cloud 9. I put together a secret Pinterest board for her last week that basically works as a starting point for wedding planning-- I did a bunch of the usual inspiration stuff for decor and such, a few links to some local venues, a link to the Google Doc wedding planning spreadsheets, a graph of a typical budget breakdown, wedding planning timelines, etc. I told her she can use or lose whatever she wants from it. I had so much fun putting it together for her, and I can't wait to help her plan everything.

Blah, time to get back to work. At least it's a 4-day week with a 3-day weekend!

I FINALLY have some free moments to check in. I'm on an audit this week for work so I'm a bit bummed out that I don't get to spend the week in my house getting things organized. But being on the road for work isn't bad. I get to chill in the evenings and eat out every day and I get to set my own pace with the work I do without interruptions from annoying coworkers.

I might wander Lowe's tonight to entertain myself. I've been considering getting a Nest thermostat and might go ahead and get one and read the manual. The thermostat in my house isn't bad, but it's a bit clunky and ugly and the programming is complicated. Everyone I know that has a Nest loves it, and I really like the idea of being able to monitor through my app and set the temperature when I'm not home, especially since I am away for work frequently. Anyone else have one? Any opinions?
