Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?

Re: Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?

  • I was just coming to say what a game, @kimmiinthemitten! Prater made up for that missed extra point.

H has Stafford and almost went outside after the Colts last TD, he's glad he stayed to watch it. Hope you're enjoying the win.

I don't know if I'd say that!  As Lynda said about ESPN earlier - you have literally one job!  I was cracking up at the inflatable Colt dancing behind his warm up though.

    Sorry about your Bills.

Now I just need Julian Edelman to play better than John Brown and David Johnson combined so I can carry both of my Fantasy Leagues.

Ha. H said the exact same thing (about the mascot and Prater). I disliked moving the extra point line back-- and it's not like it makes the game more exciting (side not that was the dumbest NFL argument).

H also has David Johnson, and I'd really like to see a patriots loss given that all the AFC East teams lost today.
  • Brown-bagging it today...

  • Brown-bagging it today...

It's like they do that to us all the time :(.  My H and I were so excited watching the game, "Wow, WOW, the Saints are actually looking so good!  They are so far ahead.  Surely they can't mess this up now."  Oh, but they can.

The second TV came in handy though with that Chiefs comeback - that was a great game! So was the Colts/Lions.

  • I can't believe how boring the Seahawks/Dolphins game was... I just figured the Seahawks would win, since they were playing at home against the Dolphins, but that was too close for comfort. Should have beat them handily.

On another note, H and I are head to head in our fantasy league this week, and I'm 50 points ahead of him. He has DeAngelo Williams and DeSean Jackson in the early game tonight, but I still have Todd Gurley in the late game.

  • I'm 35 points behind right now, but the other guy has no players left and I have 3.  Including Ben, AB and Jordon Reed.  So I should beat him.

DH won his match in our league, but lost his other 2 (I think).

I agree the Seahawks/Dolphins game was pretty boring.

  • The Chiefs comeback kept me in my company Death Pool!  I would have been pissed if I lost the first week two years in a row!

And as long as D'Angelo Williams doesn't score 70 points tonight I will have handily beat FI!  Ha!

  • In my keeper league, I dropped everyone, managed to pick up Rodgers and Murray again in late late rounds, and trusted the "projections" for my lineup.  My bench scored 75 points, and I lost by 10.  All I needed to do was sub Theo Riddick in for Cobb and I would've been on top.  Some of my "oh shit I have 10 seconds to pick someone" selections crushed it this week.

In my other league... I smushed H's boss.  DH is bragging about it today.

The Chiefs/Chargers game was really fun to watch! I am impressed that the Chiefs were able to pull off such a big comeback. Plus, I have Spencer Ware and he got me close to 30 points, so that's a bonus.

ETA: Am I the only one who was disappointed they changed the Sunday Night Football theme song this year? I have always loved the SNF song - I even recorded it last night so I could rewind and listen to it after I got back from walking the dog (I know, I'm a nerd, it just always puts me in a good mood). I was really sad that it isn't the same, boppy song that it's been for the past many years. Sigh.

We should do a Knot league next year!

@madamerwin we noticed too!  Thumbs down!
I have a friend from growing up who posts "bring back Faith" every Sunday because he hates the Carrie Underwood version. I didn't catch the beginning last night to hear the new song
  • @kvruns I don't mind the Carrie Underwood version of the old song (though at first I really didn't like it), but this new song is just... Flat. Major downgrade.

@kimmiinthemitten - a TK league would be fun!

  • Going in to last night, I was 50 points ahead of H (my opponent). He had Deangelo Williams and DeSean Jackson. I had Todd Gurley. I only won by 9 points, thanks to Williams' and Jackson's monster weeks, and Gurley's major dud. At least I beat H, though. That rarely happens.

My Browns are in the lead! Woo-hoo!

    ETA: Damn it!
  • Defeat from the jaws of victory. Sigh.

Despite Matt Forte killing it, I lost both fantasy leagues and the Lions blew a lead. Such is life.

Edited because I typed this while watching WAGS and mixed up my football players.

    HA!

Slept in the 4runner at the trailhead last night and got up at 4:30am to do a 14er (2 hours away from  my house).  It will take all I have to be able to watch the first half.

  • Sorry about Jay Cutler, @ShesSoCold. Hope you guys don't have the rotten luck with quarterbacks that we have.

Cutler sucks and is a quitter. We're probably the same or better off without him. How many more years til his contract expires?? >:(

  • How about them Birds?

I watched the first quarter.  Fell asleep on the couch.  Went up to bed, but put the game on the TV.  Fell back asleep.  Woke up to watch the 4th quarter.

  • I watched some of last night's game... Didn't have any fantasy players in it (my main motivation for watching non-Seahawks games), but I was in a pool at work this week. Needed the Eagles to win and the combined score to be closer to 43 than 51 to tie for the win with one other person. Eagles won, combined score was exactly 43, so I got $20 out of the pool! (The other guy who won ALSO had a combined score of 43, go figure.)

  • I was sitting next to a nine year old at the game who was tougher than Cutler. I'm trying to get Ryan Pace on the phone so he can sign that kid.

I'm against DH this week.     I'm project to win, but a decent amount.   It should be an interesting Sunday.

Oh and Ben/AB play against the Eagles.    Worse part about fantasy.   When you best players are up against your favorite team AND you are up against your husband in fantasy.
