Where is everyone?

Re: Where is everyone?

  • God, I would give my left arm to make it into the Corps.  I'm super jealous.  But this is probably something I should have done 10 years ago.  Even with wanting to go reserves, they still want 10 weeks of OCS, 6 months of TBS, then whatever your MOS is before you finally get to the fleet.  Since I have an MBA and want to go reserves, the Navy's school for professional reservists is 8 days.  Eight.  Days.  Pretty sure I went to Girl Scout camp longer than that, LOL.

Back in the day I was picked up by the Air Force as a navigator, but I declined to go to OTS.  I was a different person back then.  No backbone.  Abusive husband. Although it's probably good I didn't go; my lack of spatial reasoning/navigation skills are legendary.  LOL.

DH and I did the flight simulator at the Midway last summer and we decided the Navy was probably wise not to pick me as an aviator or NFO.  I couldn't figure out how to even get the thing right side up.

  • Thanks for the tips ladies. There's a place I wanted to go but turns it out it's a different name than the clinic so that threw me off. There are 2 ladies there and I've heard good things about the clinic so I'll call tomorrow.

Good luck to you!!!  My FI is finishing up law school, but he did OCS and commissioned right before he started in '09.  He'll be doing temporary duty after taking the bar exam in July until he finds out whether he passed (which we'll know in late September) and then they'll give him a date to show up at TBS, which will likely be April/May 2013.  A busy year ahead of us!

  • Irish,

Just wanted to say I really like Game of Thrones. I watched about 4 episodes and then I forgot about it. I did see the panel at Comic Con and am looking foward to finishing the first season. :)
