The more you all talk about red wine, the more I wish Coors Light was Red Wine. Hmmmph!

Uck FTL I hate math. I suck so horribly at it.

Cab - I'd bring you some wine if you were closer.

Fire - I forgot to say thanks! Our daisies will be a mixture of pink ones (coral pink) and white ones :)

Haha this beer talk is cracking me up. We drink so much freaking beer in my house. Yeungling is "crappy beer" to us.

Hmm I'm totally looking at militarybyowner.com! Thanks to whomever posted that!

My dad only drinks Yuengling. Lol. For his retirement (he did 30 years Navy) I got him a signed poster and a letter of appreciation from the owner of Yuengling - I think its like the 6th generation now. But yeah :) I appreciate brewing, but I don't care for the taste lol.

militarybyowner is awesome :) then again, I'm always a person who would much rather rent from another military member if possible. It works out for everyone, ya know. Plus they kind of understand what you can't afford too. So most things are pretty in line with BAH which helps.

Hello Ladies. I just got back from hanging out with my friends..except Thursdays for most college seniors is party night...so they were all heading the bars and I get to go home and sleep and wake up when they are just getting to bed. Ahh real life.

    Ha.

I have been thinking about this all day...but any one heard from Kendall.. did she actually get married today?

    Hey Ladies!

How's everyone doing? I can't believe I'm so late for tonight's chit chat! I've been off the webs since this morning, I like to hang out with H when he gets home from work. We watched TV this afternoon then went to the gun range again. Also, we got a call from the movers and our stuff from Japan are being delivered tomorrow! So yay! :)
  • edited December 2011
    yay for stuff from Japan!

Amanda just brought up the grand point that we haven't heard from Kendall today, and we're wondering if she actually got married.

umm.. otherwise we're talking about beer and wine and a bit about school/life/weddings

    gotta have priorities, right?! lol

Thats awesome your getting your things from Japan! And I'm totally jealous, I wish I could go to the gun range. I haven't been since we moved down here.. sadness.

I feel you on the real life thing Amanda, heck I feel so old, I can barely stay up past midnight even on the weekends. It's pretty pathetic.

And you girls are right, we haven't heard from her today. It's been kind of nice actually.

Where are you right now amh? This is the 2nd day we've gone since H just got his new gun yesterday and we got the yearly membership at the range. He's teaching how to use this new one we have, just in case intruders come especially when he's deployed and I'm alone. I'm surprised that VA is actually very relaxed with their gun laws.

I can't wait to see our stuff, I mostly miss our dining table since we've been eating on our cocktail/coffee table! Also, a lot of my winter clothes like coats and pants are there!

Kendall was online this morning I believe since she did a threadjack on my thread from Hike. I honestly don't believe she got married today, I would have been off the webs days ago! I think I went offline a whole week before my day!

    Hiya ladies!

Just went to a networking event which the new girl my company hired invited us to go to.  It was kind of odd - she's supposed to be our new business development person, but she spent the whole night chatting with my super awkward boss.  And it was odd as I was pitching myself as the Manager of the US office (which the partners have started referring to me as in emails to clients...  I know, I know, I'm going to ask for a raise and an official title upgrade, no worries!).  Anyway, it was very successful.  Met some good contacts, lined up several meetings.  I think I made our office's quota for weekly meetings set tonight alone, so that's good!

About beer - I used to hate it, would never drink any of it, even in college.  And then I went to Prague and tried beer, and I realized not all beer is crap.  I do not drink Bud Light Lime.  I don't drink anything Bud or Miller or Heineken or even Coors - FI won't allow us to even serve any of those at the wedding!

For those of you who don't like beer, I have a challenge for you - go out and find Southern Tier's Imperial Pumpking beer (it comes in a big bottle like wine).  Drink that ice cold, and let me know if you still hate beer.  If you hate it, mail me the receipt and I'll reimburse you.  I'm so not kidding.  Or try Young's Double Chocolate Stout.  Or Left Hand Milk Stout.  Or Framboise (that one tastes like raspberry champagne - it's technically a lambic, not a beer, but they're close cousins).

I vehemently believe that most people can find a wine and a beer that they like.  I mean, I have one friend who experiences physical pain in reaction to carbination, so she doesn't like sodas or beer, and that's just how it is.  But she looooves wine!  There are so many different varieties of wines out there with so many different flavors, and the same goes for beer.  Like, if you think white wine is too sweet, try a French or California chardonnay that is more than 3 years old and was aged in oak casks.  Delish, woody, and not at all sweet (the high sugar content that makes a wine sweet indicates either a cold press or ice wine, which are delicious and very expensive dessert wines, or a crappily made wine).

Kara where in VA are you at? I'm from there, and fire is there now :)
We are down in Jacksonville FL. We were pretty spoiled with the ranges in Virginia, FI hasn't found a good one here yet. We actually went to a gun show two weekends ago, and lets just say it wasn't impressive at all so that was a dissappointment.

Wow - Online the day of?! Crazyy. I'm planning on going off line that wednesday, only because I am wanting to take off of work that Thursday, and Friday. But we'll see how it goes.

Cal- strangely enough I really enjoy beer  and LOOOOOOOOOOOVE anything pumpkin, but HATE pumpkin beer. I just can't get into it. I have tried a ton of different types from all over the place and.. eh.

  • edited December 2011
Cate - yay!! Congrats! That is awesome news!

Ill have to write down those types of beers and try them. I'll try anything once, just how I am. I am planning a trip to total wine this weekend so I'll see if they have it, it sounds like they would.

amh: H is stationed in Norfolk but we live in Virginia Beach, we liked it much better. H's best friend in high school is actually stationed there in JAX too and his cousin is in Pensacola. We might visit them someday down there. Where about here are you from?
I believe the exact name of it is Ruger SR9, it's a 9mm. It was more than what we wanted to spend but he LOVES it so I gave in and it's now his very early Xmas present! lol

I love Framboise... yummy.  I'm not a huge beer fan, but I will drink it if I am around a bunch of guys and they give my crap for drinking girly stuff.

I'm a HUGE fan of Malibu and Sprite with a splash of lime. Yum. Or Wine..any and all kinds.

I really dislike Champaign though..  The bubbles make me sick. EVERY single time.

Cal- I'll have to try those, if I can find them. I'm not against trying anything, I just have yet to find any beer that I could have more than 3 sips of before I wanted to puke. Congrats on the great networking tonight, and on what sounds like a promotion coming your way! Isn't your boss supposed to be leaving soon?

Kara: that's awesome you go and shoot with your husband. I do a little and some of the guns still scare me but I'm tryign to get better. FI turns 21 in February and can finally get the Glock he's had his eye on haha. He wants me to do the classes too and carry one when I'm old enough. I feel like I'd do a lot better with smaller gun because there's way less kick and that's what mainly scares me. Is it sad I saw a little pink gun at Scheel's the other day and was like "Oh how cute it'd fit in my purse" hahaha I'm a dork
