amh- I haven't felt festive until today.  So I know how that feels!  I hope it kicks in for you soon though!  And I'd hold off on the birdcage veil until you try one on.  I love the look of them and I really wanted one, but when I tried it on it just didn't look right with my dress and me in general.

Hey everybody! I feel like I have accomplished absolutely nothing today. I stayed out too late last night at my cousin's party, and then had to get up at 5 to go to the hospital for rounds on about 4 hours of sleep. Ugh. So once I got home, I crashed for a couple hours and I'm still struggling to feel awake.

On the bright side, I got the earrings for my best friends made and all done up tonight. I'm kind of in love with them and tempted to keep them all for myself!!!

[QUOTE]I really wanted to register for them (especially because it's made in the US...which a majority of our registry items are), but FI and I couldn't agree on a color, and I've always wanted square plates, which they don't make.

We want white square dishes. We were gonna register for the food network ones at Kohl's but we didn't see them in the store. I went online to look and all they had were the mugs so FI and I think they're getting discontinued :(

We ended up getting Corelle.  Also made in the US.  We only found them online at BBB, they didn't have them in the store.

Thanks! Those are for my super Saints fan BFF.

All this dish talk makes me NOT look forward to starting a registry. I don't think FI and I have agreed on a single thing we want for our house. I love square dishes. That's one fight I WILL WIN. :-)

We'll probably find some at BBB. I don't care if it's made in the US or not. Some things I won't buy American then there are some I don't care where they're made

Mel- I hated registering.  FI has a bunch of stuff that he got with the house he bought, but it's your basic "bachelor" stuff.  Very worn out, most of it's chipped, and gross.  It's able to be used for now and he's dealt with it just because. So the whole time he was saying "I have dishes.  I'm fine with the dishes we have now."  It wasn't very helpful. haha

It was extremely important to FI that a large amount of the products were made in the US.  Especially the big ticket items.  We try and do this with most things.  It was kind of annoying at first but we feel better because of it.  A lot of the kitchen "gadgets" we couldn't find US stuff that we liked, so we settled.  But our bigger items are all US made.

Spiffy, I guess I'm in the same boat as your FI. I have some dishes and pots and pans from my apartment in college that work just fine... But I would like to have some new and higher quality ones. It would be nice if FI had an opinion on something though. And by something, I mean literally ANYTHING. Ugh. Boys.

Same situation with my FI for the made in U.S.A. He however joined The Corps at 19, and never lived on his own. So I'm the one with some usable but not very nice house things. I wanna upgrade! I never really had a reason to before.

It's still a better car than American ones. That's my opinion and I've seen many friends and some family have bad luck with their American cars and then they switch to foreign. Like my parents, they bought a Chrysler van when we were little and got every recall in the book and horrible customer service to get them fixed. They won't buy American now and pretty much stick in the Honda/Toyota, Lexus brands

I own a Volkswagen and FI owns a Pontiac G6. I was the opposite of you. It was important for me to find a foreign car I liked and in my budget (I got a loan for it and didn't want my payments to be over a certain amount). I wanted to get a Honda Civic like my dad and sister but couldn't find one in the area in my budget, right mileage, and year (had to be 2006 or newer to get a loan the bank said)
