Oh yeah, eh? We loves the hockey and there's lots of snow and moose (yes, it's moose, not mooses or meece.).  But we have good teeth...free healthcare don'tchknow;)

A few thoughts, since I'm late to this crazy party:

My FI grew up in the Denver area. I've been there twice now, and I don't find it in any way "western." In fact, the whole front range area (the eastern slopes of the rockies) are more "mountain" culture than "western" culture, if you ask me. I LOVE Colorado, and can not possibly recommend visiting it strongly enough. The downtown Denver area is very trendy, actually :) And if you have a chance to make it to the mountains. . . ::dies of happiness:: it is so beautiful! Let me know if you want more information, especially about camping or whatever. Good luck, honey!

Secondly, Casa Bonita is real, and I HAVE BEEN THERE!!  It was hilarious and ridiculous. Be jealous, Paigey!

<p>I wanna go to Casa Bonita!!!

OP - Disneyworld packages are very customizable, and Oceana's suggestion of food and wine fest, make it a great time for a more romantic trip.

The packages do not include transportation (flights), however, as PP have said, if you book with them, stay on resort, and get the dinning plan you get a room, transportation from the airport to your hotel, are able to take the busses to and from parks and shopping areas within resort (ie. dont need a rental car) and your meals (1 quick service, 1 table service, and 2 snacks) for each day of your stay.  You have to play around with the cost online, because certain times of year for booking you can get discounted rates.  Also if you have AAA you can get discounts.

It's okay to dislike western style hotels or to not want to stay somewhere that is very into its history and doesn't have much to do that you're interested in doing.

To me, it's not okay to use extremely disparaging language about the western US in general and Denver in particular, esp without any explanation and without having traveled that area much.

But Coco it looks like you got what I was trying to say, and I hope it's all good now.

What about New Orleans for your HM?

I also like the DWorld idea -- you could go for a long weekend if you don't want the expense of an entire week.

Again, it's the whole getting out of your usual environment and having your new spouse all to yourself that makes the HM special.

Trip Advisor is your friend. It has tons of great resources. You just have to kind of get the hang of navigating the website. Also, if you go into a Barnes & Noble, you can browse their travel books for an hour or two to get more info on different places you're interested in visiting.

I think the most important thing to decide is what kind of things you and your FI want to do on your HM. Then you'll have a better idea of which places to research. There is also a HM board here on tk and you can ask questions there.

GL! Please let us know what you decide!
