edit: BF did make it home

Hi ladies,

So my BF goes bowling Thursday nights and ususally stays out pretty late with his friends. He texts me and then sometimes sleeps on the couch to not wake me.

Well, he wasn't in bed by morning, and I just figured he was on the couch. When I woke up at 7:30 and went to check, neither he nor his car were around. I got a text message at 1:30am to say he was out with his friend and would be home later.

He's never not come home before, and I'm very worried. I've left my BF a voicemail. I don't have the number for his friend, so all I could do was send a Facebook message to the friend's wife and leave a message on the friend's work voicemail with a message to please call.

I'm not sure what to do because I don't want to overreact. I would think the most likely scenario is he slept on his friend's couch, but of course my mind goes to all sorts of horrible thoughts.

I get the same way and I know it is so hard not to think of all the worst case but just try your best to take a deep breath and focus on something else for the time being. It's perfectly fine to worry and care for another's well being but at some point we have to understand we can't control everything as much as we may want to..and we just have to wait and see. I'm sure he is doing fine *hugs*

I do the same thing with thinking the worst has happened but the most likely scenario is that he crashed on someone else's couch. I'm sure he's fine - do what tafft said and try to take deep breaths

I  know it'll be hard but try not to worry yet. It's still early in your area so he is probably sleeping on a couch somewhere. FI used to always stay at his friends house after drunken nights and I knew not to worry unless it was after noon and I still haven't heard from either of them.

I don't have the full story yet, but it involves alleged "public drunkenness." He's not hurt, and didn't hurt anyone else, so I'm hoping the consequences aren't that bad.

Yes. I can't believe it. He's Mr. Responsible. I called my best friend crying after he called me. He's on his way home now, so I'll know more later.

I've been told that urinating in public can get you a public intoxication on up to exposing yourself in public which is a sexual offense. I had an ex who tended to urinate outside when he was intoxicated. He had the nickname of the sexual offender. It was funny really. (not sexual offenders, at all by any means, just this guy. - and.... I was 22 so......)

Yeah if you pee in public in Denver you have to register as a sex offender.  I don't know about California, but let's hope it's not that.

At a BBQ a few summers ago a guy I know got really drunk and peed in the front bushes just as a patrol car went by. He was busted for public intoxication, public nudity and because there was a home run daycare across the street something along the lines of exposing himself to minors and I'm pretty sure he's under megans law now.

I'm sorry but I have to bring it up. Anyone here watch Ron White - Drunk In Public?

That is what Public Drunkeness makes me think of. "I didn't want to be drunk in public, I wanted to be drunk in the bar, they threw me in public."

So maybe they were drunk and walking home and a cop felt like being a douche. Or maybe one of your BF's friends was causing trouble so the cop busted all of them. Your BF could possibly be fairly innocent in all this.....maybe. Or maybe he has a side you've never seen before?

I should probably tell BF about that.. he pees in public all the time without even being drunk.  I think he just likes to mark his territory.

It may not be much to be upset about at all. On my friend's 21 birthday she went bar hopping, and while walking from one bar to the next she tripped (not entirely because she was drunk. She tripped on a spot everyone trips on: a huge root under the sidewalk). A patrol car was driving by and picked her up for public intoxication and put her in the drunk tank for the night.

So hopefully it's only as bad as that.

When FI is drunk he tends to urinate on things in public but was never caught. He also like to take his pants off but has alway kept his underwear on.

I'm pretty sure in MI you would also be registered as a sex offender but I'm not 100% sure.

Yep, in MI if you get caught peeing in public you get put on the sex offender list.

IMO it could be argued that urinating is a natural thing. If you can become a sexual offender for doing that, why can't you be a sexual offender for breast feeding in public? That is also exposing yourself.

Too little too late, but I decided I probably shouldn't have said as much as I did. So if you read it, cool, if not, sorry.
