Not Engaged Yet

And they think we're BeeBees over here....

Its still mid morning over here, and so I got a littel bored and went to the JE&P board and found this gem.

In Response to Family doesn't approve, what do I do?:
[QUOTE]Okay so heres the story: andrew and i are young (18 & 20) but in love and only want to be with eachother forever. We plan to move together next fall for schooling a hr away from our families. There was no "proper proposal" one day we talked about how we wanted to get married and decided to set a date (sept 22, 2011) and start planning. The ring isn't in the picture bc the ring I would like is the one my Dad gave my mom but my mom will not let me have it. :/ So last night we had a talk with my mom, aunt (whos very important in my life-she lives with us) and andrew and myself. My mom and aunt basically didn't even consider us getting married in sept an option. They refuse to help or approve if we get married anytime before 2013! This is stupid. I'm really close with my family and would like for them to help. I'm hesitant on getting married without their support but Andrew and I are serious about this and don't want my family to brush it off as if we don't know what we're talking about.    Another bump in the plans: my sisters boyfriend told me that he plans to propose Dec 30 of this year. My sister and her boyfriend have only been dating a few months longer then Andrew and I but my sister is 25. I've talked with my mom about my sister and her bf getting married already and my mom said she would approve bc "they're already living in sin (sleeping around and living together)" which basically implies that in order for me and andrew to get the "ok" for marriage is to mess up first, That shouldn't be the message moms give their children but it is in my situation.   I don't know what to do. What are my options? Marry in  sept with no family support (means basically a court house wedding which im okay with)? Move in the fall without being married and "live in sin"? Wait and hurt mine and andrews relationship bc i care too much about my family's opinion? What other options are there? Someone please help I'm unsure of what to do..

I don't think she knows what the definition of sleeping around is. I guess I messed up too because BF and I live together. :P

And wtf? She wants to take her mom's engagement ring?? That's just strange to me. I mean, if her mom had passed away that would make sense.

Seems like the girls on JE have this covered.

But seriously, here is just SOME of the reasons why this post is just wtf!?:

-Waiting to get married will harm her relationship.  Uhhhh, no. You're dumb.

    - Her older sister is getting married and *stomps foot* ITS NOT FAIR SHE CAN AND I CAN'T! Wow, a 25 year old getting married is okay by mom but an 18 year old is not....fancy that, dumbass.

    - Moving in together and "living in sin" is bad.  According to her it's a mistake..one that warrants marriage. WTF?!

I couldn't get over the fact that she thinks her mom should give her the engagement ring. Really?! Especially now that we learn her older sister is getting married. Why does the younger one deserve the ring off her mom's finger?

Good thing some sensible ladies were there to try to straighten her out.

THIS is why I <3 you all.  Cause I can't think straight from still being sick, so you ladies have the mental capacity to type what I can't.  When I read that post I wasn't sure if I had been dreaming it all up.  I didn't think that girls like that existed.

I got interrupted during my last list... more reasons why this is just wtf?!

-Mom's ring Why the HELL would your mother give you HER ring? Maybe if she'd passed, or if she had more than one, or whatever...but seriously...you are demanding her ring? SERIOUSLY?!

    - Needing her family's help It's her wedding.  Her responsibility.  Nothing to do with her family "helping", not their wedding or their responsibility to help.

I also can't take her seriously without paragraphs.

Cuz her sister's BF or FI can afford a ring while hers probably can't, so mom should just fork it over! right?

Yeah, not even a bit of energy to try on that one.  Especially when my own 18-year-old cousin is saying she's going to move to Texas to marry her boyfriend.  Who she posts about every single damned day on Facebook.  Who she's been dating 6 months.  Who she's met in person twice.  Joy.

The one who is currently ruffling my feathers is Joiner.  Anyone remember that crazy weirdo?  The one who kept resurrecting posts that had died months ago to add something like, "You go girl!" or "Tell her to buy some business!" and the ever classic, "Shut up and be thankful. I was blessed with 2 carats. Soe people get cubic zurconion".  Yeah, she's a real class act.

Here's a few of her recent gems:

How many threads does one need to start to go, "I love being engaged. I am so much better than you are. Don't you wish you could be like me?"

Except throw in some random spelling errors.

Good for a laugh, but I fear for people who know this woman in real life. Sadly, I even know someone kind of like that, but it's about how successful she is.

And whats stupid about that whole "I'm better than you blah blah" logic that Joiner has is that she's posting on the Just Engaged board...and 99.9% of those women have rings and fiancé's...soooo....who is she better than?? Makes no sense. Unless she's talking about her currently non-existent 2 carat sparkler...which she refuses to post pics of?? Alright.

And I already commented on that 18 yr old's rant...lol
