Confession: One of my siblings got in trouble because he didn't register to vote the day he turned 18. Thus, I don't understand why one wouldn't be registered/vote/care to vote. I've been taught since I was like 3 how HUGE of an opporunity this is.

Confession: Most of my neighbor's think that BF and I are married. We don't correct them - we live in the freakin' Bible belt. If both our GRANDMOTHERS are okay with it, random neighbor people don't need to judge.

Confession: I was disappointed my sister's wedding invite didn't arrive in the mail today. It should be here tomorrow (I guess)

I judge: Me :) I'm watching Greys instead of grading papers. But I did work out today at like 8 AM, so that's pretty sweet.

SKP- Congrats on the positve ovulation test!! Exciting news :-)

I never make a big deal about my birthday, BF & I usually just go out to dinner. My family tends to make a big deal of birthdays though which is nice.

I feel like when facebook starts making you feel badly about yourself, you should maybe take a break. I know I catch myself comparing my life to other people who I once had a lot in common with (usually they are still hot and skinny and living much more exciting lives). I think it's human nature. But, if it's starting to legitimately upset you, I think it's time to step away. What's the point?

Also, I had a really awful experience with a cat I adopted as a kitten. So bad that I had to give him away to a family that was able to let him live outside and act like a crazed mad-cat all he wanted. And it turns out, his siblings (at least one of them, anyway - I never met the owners of the other cats) had the same exact behavioral problems. So when I think about getting a dog, I'd likely consider a breeder, because I would want a puppy. If I think about getting a cat, I wouldn't go to a breeder, but I would certainly want to know more about the parents than I did the last time around. Not that family history would tell me everything about an animal's behavior, but I'd at least know what to expect.

That's funny. All of our neighbors referred to us as husband and wife before we were married. And then we were like, "Oh yeah, we're getting married next month" and I think they were surprised. Now the neighbor across the street wants BABIEEEESSS!!! (I live in a neighborhood where everyone is old enough to be my parent.)

This is me too, I feel your pain. I prefer not to go through childbirth I'd be ok with adoption. I've agreed to one, after that we can review the situation.
As we now talk about home buying and school districts, we were talking about our yet to be children. It kind of freaked me out a bit, when he said in 6-7 years we could have child starting kindergarden. I was like woah.

Yep. I'm kinda scared of the whole 40 weeks too. I mean, there are a fair number of needles in there. And I tend to pass out/hyperventilate when needles are involved, so that just seems like a bad idea.

That being said, BF already has had needle training/practice with me. He knows just to let me do my thing and tell the nurse to continue their job, haha. I'm a disaster.

I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon with the breeder thing. We have three purebreds and all of them are rescues we got as puppies. Bellamy and Zoë were both adopted at 2.5 months and Freya was 8 months when we got her. We had to work REALLY hard to find Freya because we wanted a female puppy so that she could grow up with Bellamy and Zoë, but we were able to find her from a little rescue in Kansas. It worked out really well and we haven't had any behavioral problems outside of behaviors expected from the breed (Freya has attitude).

I confess that I found DivaCups intimidating, but now that I used one for my last period, I'll never use tampons again.

We have a Springer we adopted when she was about 6 months old. She has always been really nervous around new people because she was kept in a barn and not socialized with people at all. So, while I prefer to adopt, I can understand why someone would want to purchase a puppy from a reputable breeder.

And I agree with you on the Diva cup. Loooooove!

I wish I had seen this earlier so I could have been a little less bored at work.

I judge: those who continuously post job postings when they themselves should probably be sending in their resume.

UO/Confession: a little of both? I am sick to death of seeing the diet challenge of the week plastered all over facebook. I'm not friends with people on there so I can continuously scroll through their advertising spam. I'm tired of hearing about Visalus and seeing before/after pictures.

The DivaCup is an alternative to tampons or pads during menstruation: http://divacup.com/ You just kinda cram it up there and it collects the menses over the course of the day. You can keep it in for like 12 hours without any issues. Learning how to take it out is very stressful :|. I like it because it's non-drying and it's more clean and natural to stick up your cooch than a plug of chemically-treated cotton.

ETA: Tyler calls it the 'blood funnel'.

Why would you judge the Diva cup or those who use one?

Danser - it is a menstrual cup. I actually use the Lunette brand. You use it during your cycle to catch what a tampon would normally absorb.

I like it for several reasons. The biggest is probably because there is NO LEAKAGE. None. Zip. And you only have to change it twice a day. I do mine in the morning and in the evening.

There's no "Hmm.... should I use a Super tampon or a Regular? Oh I'm out of Supers, so I guess I'll use a Regular and have to change it sooner." You put it in and forget about it until you need to empty it.

You cannot feel it at all. And it's less expensive than buying tampons every month.

So, judge if you want, but you would probably like it if you tried it. Smile

ETA: Also no, "Sh!t! I don't have a tampon and need to change it rightthissecond!"

Bahahaha. I feel that this was not the best endorsement of the product.

You definitely don't "cram it up there" for those of you who are curious. You fold it and push it in. There is definitely a learning curve to putting it in/taking it out, but once you figure it out, it's really simple.

Haha, it's true, there is a specific folding and pushing thing that you do, but your fingers do get more involved than they would when you're putting in a tampon. But it's true, no leakage, no odor, no nothing. It's pretty awesome. You just clean it out with mild soap between insertions and at the end of the cycle, you boil it for like 5-10 minutes. Store it in a cotton bag and you're done. $30 saves a ton of money in the long run and it's better for the Earth at the same time :D.

[QUOTE]Why would you judge the Diva cup or those who use one? ETA: Also no, "Sh!t! I don't have a tampon and need to change it rightthissecond!"

I'm not offended. Just curious.
