Re: I Judge/Unpopular Opinions/Confessions

  • Ha I missed that.  I thought you were referring to the heebie jeebies comment.

I'll be honest, that thing is NOT for me.  I just cannot wrap my head around it.  But thanks to BCP I barely have a period so I only need like 3 tampons or something.

Same. I have a friend who has used it for like three or four years, but I didn't give in until one of my close coworkers told me about her positive experience. I'm glad that I listened to her!

  • That makes sense, Katniss.  I'm definitely not saying, "OMG everyone should start using this right now!"  I understand it's not for everyone.  But, it's an awesome product and I think those who are willing to give it a try would like it.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: I Judge/Unpopular Opinions/Confessions : Haha, it's true, there is a specific folding and pushing thing that you do, but <strong>your fingers do get more involved than they would when you're putting in a tampon</strong>. But it's true, no leakage, no odor, no nothing. It's pretty awesome. You just clean it out with mild soap between insertions and at the end of the cycle, you boil it for like 5-10 minutes. Store it in a cotton bag and you're done. $30 saves a ton of money in the long run and it's better for the Earth at the same time :D.

That's why I made the judging comment.  And really, it's not JUDGING.  That's probably the wrong word.  I guess - I WISH I could think about using the diva cup and not get icked out.  I don't even get icked out by blood normally . . . I just don't know if I could do it.
How did you learn that specific inserting/folding technique?

And Jorja, yes, I did sort of just sneak back in.  HAHAAHAAA!!!  Hiiiiiii!!!

There is a website that has different folding techniques.  I tried the standard one, and didn't like it, so I tried another and it worked fine.

It is kind of icky, but the benefits outweigh that for me.

I miss my Mirena. I had mine for almost 5 years, no period, nothing. Had it taken out because I was worried it was contributing to my inability to lose weight and started BCPs. I hate them so much. 42+ day cycles are super fun!
  • I'm rather late to the party but it's been interesting reading how passionate some of you are about breeders and diva cup.

I confess that BF's Dad has been here less than 24 hours and I've been sleeping/at work for 15 of them and I'm ready for him to leave already. I've just got to make it to Sunday morning.

This. All of this. Except for the TTC thing.

The thought of putting it in doesn't ick me out as much as pulling a cup of my uterine contents out and dumping it. Ugh. I'm gagging. We didn't have a garbage disposal growing up, so if we didn't finish cereal, we had to dump it in the toilet (no milk in the garbage, no cereal down the drain) and THAT makes me gag.

My Mirena ended my period immediately. Best decision ever. And, given that I will never TTC, I will use one for as long as possible.

  • I wish Mirena worked as well for me as it does for others. It's pretty good, but I still have to keep pads handy for any surprises.

And y'all can judge me on my birthday. It's not anything crazy, but I always have some sort of dinner or get-together. And I'm ancient.

My unpop op is that I can't stand usernames that are FutureMrs.Blah. I know it doesn't affect me one bit, and I shouldn't care, but it bugs me nonetheless.

I don't really see that as freaking out about your birthday. I always do somethings with BF or a group of friends. But BF has a friend who starts talking about her birthday months in advance and expects people to dedicate a whole weekend to it. I just don't understand that sort of freaking out about a birthday.

And I completely agree with you about the usernames that are FutureMrs.Whatever.

  • I think that at least one of the descriptions of the proper way to use a Diva Cup could definitely be interpreted as a little TMI. It didn't bother me, but that description included "cram it up there" and "stick it up your cooch". I think calling people out on being vulgar in their description of why not to use it is a little bit ridiculous following that.

I confess that I spent a good amount of money on our mini vacation this past week for BFs birthday. We're finally in a place where we can afford to do that, though, and I think we deserved it. We both work pretty darn hard.

[QUOTE]Why would you judge the Diva cup or those who use one? Danser - it is a menstrual cup. <strong> I actually use the Lunette brand</strong>.  You use it during your cycle to catch what a tampon would normally absorb. I like it for several reasons.  The biggest is probably because there is NO LEAKAGE.  None.  Zip.  And you only have to change it twice a day.  I do mine in the morning and in the evening.  There's no "Hmm.... should I use a Super tampon or a Regular?  Oh I'm out of Supers, so I guess I'll use a Regular and have to change it sooner."  You put it in and forget about it until you need to empty it. You cannot feel it at all.  And it's less expensive than buying tampons every month.  So, judge if you want, but you would probably like it if you tried it. ETA:  Also no, "Sh!t!  I don't have a tampon and need to change it rightthissecond!"

I was told recently I'd be perfect to play Tinkerbell at Disney world, a nurse in my doctor's office found out the requirements to be tinkerbell there, it was her daughter's favorite character, you need to be under 4'10" and under 90lbs, check and check.  I would understand why you are jealous though. That is awesome for her.

<div>I was talking to her publicly on FB and she didn't say. I haven't had the chance to ask her privately. My younger sister and her are vacationing there (weird since she lives there lol) so they've been busy. I know it was for two different characters, which is how things usually work. They cast people who can fit multiple face characters. </div><div>
</div><div>It's her second time auditioning for entertainment. She got placed in the costuming department for her internship and while I know she's loving that (she works day parade in the Magic Kingdom), she was crushed to not even make it through the first cut for entertainment first time around. I'm really, really hoping that she gets it.</div>
