Like or Dislike Your Future In Laws

So I was at my step sisters bridal shower this past Saturday and I was listening to all of these women talk about how they hate their in laws the Mother in Law in particular. I felt I was out of place since I love my Future in Laws. I get along great with them they are very nice, warm & open people. They joke around alot our peronalities go great together.
 Anyway I was wondering who here likes or hates their future in laws??

I love my ILs. H's mom is quiet but once you get to know her she really opens up. His dad is really easy to get along with, his sister is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I like them all. Luckily he loves me family too.

I love my in-laws, mostly because they fully respect my boundaries.  Other daughters in law call them up to chat for hours or have asked for extensive help planning the weddings to their sons. 

I am simply not like this - my fiance and I have the wedding covered and I despise the phone.  They totally respect our decisions and my personal preferences.  I'm thrilled to pieces with them.  We're actually going to visit them in a few days - can't wait!

Hmm, I don't particularly care for my FSFIL.  FMIL is fine.  Liking the FFIL less wasn't an option so I didn't vote in the poll.

Yeah there's not an option for loving your FMIL and having no opinion on FFIL because he never says two words to me.

I like my FFIL and the rest of FI family but my FMIL is a different story, well she doesn't like me and is rude to me and I try to be friendly to her but sometimes she is just unbearable.

Love them.   My FMIL is just a sweetheart, plus her name is "Ethel" which is the cutest old-lady Mom name in the world (well, my mom is "Betty," which is cute, too.  And she's much older.)

I like my MIL (H's dad passed away 21 years ago), but I can't stand my SIL, who lives with MIL. She tried to guilt trip us into coming to see them this weekend and got upset when H told her we probably wouldn't make it beause his back hurts. He was just in a car accident on Friday. Yeah, she's b*tch.

My FFIL is amazing.  I love him.  He always asks about me.  My FMIL, well, her and FI don't always get along.  She likes to think he is still a child.  She also likes to blame anytime he has an opposing opinion on me.  Um, no, your son is 30 and has been to war and back, he makes his own decisions, but thanks for playing.  Apparently it is MY fault FI doesn't go to church.  He hasn't gone to church in 12 years.  All that matters, though, is my FI sticks up for me.  I could careless if she thinks I am some controlling wanker.

I love my FILs!  The last time they visited, I went shopping with FMIL.  She said her MIL was horrible to her and she'd try to be nicer than that to me.  She also told be to tell her if she was getting too pushy.  I had a great time. 

Recently I visited FILs without FI.  Felt like I was part of the family.  FMIL has also told me she's going to treat me like her boys and tell me to stand up straight and not slouch!  She bought be a different consealer b/c she didn't think I was doing it right with mine.  She came back from the store one morning and said "this is probably tacky for me to do this, but I got this for you...."

i used to get along great with my FMIL, we used to go get our nails and everything done together...but that all changed when we were trying to potty train my fi's 1 yr old daughter (i dont have enough time to tell you lol)

but to answer your question i dont have a relationship with his mom anymore (and neither does she) because she is just so disrespectul

but i love my FFIL to pieces. we have the best relationship ever in my opinion!

I didn't vote because I don't have any! My FH's father is deceased and he doesn't have a relationship with his mother. (Very long story) I always say that the Lord sent me the right man because that is one thing that I was not looking forward to. My sister has a MIL from hell and I have no envy for that situation at all.

I love my IL's. I REALLY love my  FMIL.  She is really down to earth and we have a great friendship.  She doesnt have a daughter and she gets so excited for us over everything!

I love BF's parents. I get together with them all the time - WITHOUT BF. He's just not needed sometimes, lol. I was a bridesmaid in his sister's wedding.

I love my FIL's. I get along great with both of them, but am really close to my FMIL. Hell, I get along with and talk to them about more things than my own parents. I love my parents and all, but we just don't have a great relationship. My now IL's were instrumental in helping us plan our wedding from out of state and were there anytime we needed them to do something for us.

I'm somewhere in between, so I didn't vote. They stress me out because of their mental health and substance abuse issues, but I really do enjoy being around them when they are sober and coherent, and I know they love their son and me to death. They just don't deal with life so well anymore, and its  a long story, but I am certainly empathetic.

They each have their quirks, but I think they have good intentions and I keep that in mind when we visit.

Love my FILs but I cannot say the same for all of my FIs brothers and sisters.  Oh well, it should be interesting marrying into a big family.  I am going from my family of mom, dad, and brother to my FIs family of 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and a SIL.  

As my FI says, it may not be easy, but I promise you an interesting life.

I LOVE my FIL's.  Actually got home last night after a weekend with them, FI's sisters and BIL's, and nephews & nieces, without FI.  I love that I'm totally comfortable just spending time with his family.

I think my future inlaws are great, I get on really well with FI's mom.

I spent two weeks alone visiting them in Canada and we laughed the whole time I was there; she is great fun and a really warm and loving person.

FSIL is one of my BMs and we've been friends for years, she's amazing and one of the best people I know.

FMIL the best MIL a girl could ask for, the right mix of support/love without stepping on my toes

FFIL a clone of FI and a really upstanding person with a great heart

They all see the best in everyone and we love spending time with them, like we chose to because they're fun to hang out with. Yeah, I won the IL lottery.

yeah I say that to FI all the time--how lucky we are that both families are awesome. People we've known have had issues with ILs and I also see a lot on here about IL trouble too. Fi's mom treats me like a daughter.  We spend a lot of time with both families.

I like my FILs most of the time. FMIL is pretty nosey at times. She also has made remarks that I'm not a good mother because I don't let Camden stay with her very much. Hell, the woman can't drive. I'm scared to ride with her. What makes her think I'm going to put my child in the car with her if I won't even ride with her?

I love my FIL's as well, FSIL is one of my bridesmaids.  I spent a week with FIL's without FI and had such a great time with them, I totally feel like a part of the family.  I feel incredibly lucky because of all the horror stories I hear about other people's IL's...

FMIL is growing on me just has a different personality and is not open like my family which i am slowly starting to learn how to deal with. No FFIL he passed years back and I never got to meet him I wish I did .Him and FI were close and I would have loved to see them together

2 FSIL- Absolutely love one of them and the other one well lets just say she aint my cup of tea. I keep my mouth shut and just go with the flow, Its hard sometimes though!

1 FBI- Hes never around so there not much to say about him

Yes I Love my Future In Laws; they're fantastic

I based my vote on the fact that although they get on my nerves, they are very nice and very good to me. In a lot of ways I know I'm better off than most. Just by reading some posts on these forums I can see how lucky I am and how I should be counting my lucky stars.

I'm surprised by the few people who voted for the other two options, though. You would think by some of the topics around here there would be more votes for the other options.
