Ive narrowed it down ...

I have gone and looked at dresses ... I have narrowed it down to two.  I am so happy that I am not going to be a victim of buyers remorse!  I had decided in the store which of the two I liked more but rather than buying it right then I asked them to hold it, they agreed.  The day after I had gone, looked, and pretty much decided I started thinking more and more about this other dress.  I know it will come down to what I choose but I would LOVE some opinions!  I will post pictures! Im not going to tell which one is which :)

OH MY I DIDNT REALIZE HOW TIRED I LOOKED!!! LOL

Re: Ive narrowed it down ...

  • They are both very figure flattering on you -- you can't go wrong!

I chose # 2 only because it had more detail to make it stand out.

However, if you added a flower brooch or sparkle belt to the first - I would pick that one because you look more comfortable and confident in it.

  • Don't worry about how you look. In the picture I have of me in my dress my face is beet red since I was sweating so much (it was the last dress I tried on that day) and my bra straps are showing.

My initial gut reaction was the second dress, but I do like the shape of the first one on you as well. Tough choice.

  • I think the first one is very flattering on you... I love the top.. I agree that maybe a crystal sash or something would make it even more beautiful.   Is there beading on the top - its hard to tell?
  • They are very similar dresses. I voted #2 because the detail on that dress is beautiful. You cant go wrong with either one you choose though.
  • I love the structure of #2 to show off your waist. The first one is also lovely, but it just doesn't do the bod as much justice ;)
  • The lighting in there mixed with the camera on my friends phone didnt show the detail on the first one but there are two rows of beading on it.  It is very simple and timeless .... Looks very classy in person.  The back of dress one is a Chapel train.  Here is the link so you can see it in better detail.  This is going to be a Military wedding where he will be dressed in his mess dress with his medals and things ... More than likely having the ceremony at the chapel at VMI.

I'm still not a huge fan.. Our's had touches of military in it as well (you can see him in his Dress Whites in my siggy pic :o) ) but that didn't keep us from picking out the gown we both loved on me.
What one do you feel most comfortable in?
Which fit best in the bust area? (you don't want to have to be pulling it up all night). Are you 100% set on one of those two? How many gowns have you tried on?

ETA: PLEASE don't take this the wrong way... but considering you may be getting married in a chapel at VMI... I would consider going even more classic than either of those... They both are very sweet and whimsical. You look great in either! But If you're concerned about formality of the gown for a VMI military wedding.. I would keep looking :/
  • Im not completely set on just one of those its just what Ive narrowed it down to as of right now.  My wedding isnt far off so thats the one thing Im worried about most.  Im awful about picking out a dress that is right for my body type, and I also worry because Ive been losing weight, I am geared more towards a lace up back that way it is easier to adjust if I do lose weight.  More than anything though is budget.  My family isnt helping with ANYTHING so its strictly up to my fiance and I.  Ahhh, I didnt realize how stressful planning a wedding could be!  Even if it is completely worth all the stress in the end! :)
  • Dont worry hun I dont take it the wrong way at all!  I take opinions and if I didnt wanna listen to anyone else's advice I wouldnt have asked.  I really appreciate it.  Not only is my family not helping financially but my mother refuses to help me with dresses, decor, anything.  My friends have offered to help but being stationed 4 hours from them where we cant go out and shop is kinda difficult.  I truly do thank you for all of your advice!  :)
  • I completely understand! We paid for our wedding as well. I didn't want to spend anywhere near a grand on a wedding gown, and actually found the dress of my dreams at an outlet store for 600 less than a MONTH before our wedding! haha...
PLEASE don't feel restricted to DB just because of your budget. AA has reasonably priced gowns as well.. and google outlets in your area. They are usually just bridal salons that put their left over gowns and overstock gowns in an area super marked gown (my gown was originally supposed to be over 2g so SCORE!)

You have a lovely figure, so don't feel like you have to hide it! Your body is VERY proportional so you will be able to look great in many styles :) Sweetheart necklines are universally flattering (I had my gown altered to be sweetheart for that reason!) which is probably why I like the 2nd one more. The first I have seen a friend wear on a beach wedding.. so maybe that's why I struggle to see it at VMI... definitely different than a casual beach haha..
Ultimately you need to love that gown. If you feel awesome in that gown, you will look awesome in that gown. Go with your gut, but don't settle ;)
  • I love #2 on you!  I like that it has more detail and I love where it hits showing off your waist.  They are both beautiful but my vote is 2.   :)

One thing to remember: The wedding is just one day. The marriage is all the rest of them.

  • I like #2, love the sweetheart neckline.
  • Yeah, the sweetheart neckline looks great... So I voted for two. But you need some kind of crinoline or something under it if it wants to gather like that instead of stay out.... I'm sure the bridal store will know exactly what to give you.

  • Definitely #2. The sweetheart neckline and the waist are more flattering. And even though there is detail on #1, its not coming out in pictures. You want to look your best in your wedding pictures, and I don't think #1 photographs well or does you justice.
  • I voted #2 because I think the sweetheart is infinitely more flattering on you.  Also, #2 photographs better IMHO.  The first one is a pretty dress, but I don't think it does justice to your beautiful body, I feel that it hides your tiny waist.

  • I like #1 better.  I don't like where the transition from bodice to skirt hits you.
  • #2! Looks great on you and shows off your waist.
