I went bridal gown shopping and found a really pretty dress - but it really struck me when the consultant wrapped a belt around my waist.  The belt was about 1 to 1 1/2 inches wide in the center and then thinned out going around my body.  It had pretty beadwork and rinestones on it and added a nice bit of sparkle to the lace dress.

The woman told me that during alterations this could be sewn into the dress so it would look like it was part of the gown.

When I was taking it off I noticed it was $275.  Is that normal for an accessory like this?  Or should I shop around?

The same exact thing happened to me.  The belt was $250.  I wish I had shopped around more...

I've tried on belts $400-$700. It is normal for them to be expensive. Ridiculously priced, but they really complete the look. Still trying to figure out what I'm going to do. I've also heard that you could look for bridal appliques on Etsy and sew them onto a sash.
