  • You hate the 80's??? I love the 80s, well now. In the 80s I was chubby, had freckles and a lisp.

Im not THAT old, lol.  But this fad was when I was in elementry school (I was born in 1980).  Back when we all wanted to be cool.  I remember my baby sitter wearing stuff like that and thinking she looked so great with her colored jeans and big hair.

I think this pic of me is from the very beginning of the 90s, but it's still feckin hilarious.

I was born in 1982, but had no sense of style in the 1980s.  At all.  However, I loved grunge in Junior High.  Wow did we wear a lot of flannel.

I'm nodding with everything Blue is saying as I was also born in 1980.  Colored jeans make me shudder and remember elementary school.  I'd buy colored jeans to match my (oversized) sweaters.  I just can't even think of wearing them again.

  • Dude you saved your stuff from the 80s? I want to raid your closet just for fun now. Stirup pants? Jelly shoes (those suckers HURT!)

  • Oh man I remember wearing jelly shoes, they sure did hurt!  Wtf!  I had a hot pink pair and a clear pair that had all this obnoxious multi-colored glitter in it.

My stirrup pants had nasty pleats down the front of the pant-legs.  Omg.

  • I had the same jellies. By the end of the day in hot ass Louisiana, my feet were sweaty and blistered.

  • Lol, those crap jellys did not make it 20 years, but Im sure I still have some.  They will probably disintergrate when you touch them.

oh god I hope not. I have a pair of cornflower blue ones.. and I adore them. I've tried on red but they didn't have my size. I am neither tall nor very thin in the leg area... I think they looked good!

They definitely won't be in next year but they are fun for now :)

  • I think I wore a lot of 80s based clothing throughout the 90s since I got a lot of sweet hand-me-downs from my cousins.  Scrunchies were the absolute shiiit.  I had so many colors, and prints of them.  Also, my mom had 80s hair for forever.

Eh, I'm just curious to see people's opinions of them. I didn't know if it was something universally loathed or loved or somewhere in the middle.

  • The colored skinnies now don't remind me much of the 80s- and I did wear some pretty colorful clothing. I haven't bought any because I told myself no more buying pants until I reach my goal weight. OMG they have Girbauds back at macys. In case you were interested. WTF>

I also agree to not spend a ton on things that are more trendy.
