Colored jeans: yes or no?

Re: Colored jeans: yes or no?

  • I wouldn't wear colored jeans for 2 reasons, A. I don't like them and 2. I can't pull them off (I have short legs with thunderous thighs and a badunk).

I pretty much am nodding at everything Blue is saying.  I was also born in 1980 and could do without anything from that decade (especially the flourescent colors and colored skinny jeans). However, I cannot do without the music. 80's music was the bombdiggity.

On another note, Blue I saw your pic and laughed. I begged my mom for a perm, and it was atrocious. I looked like a poodle and cried for days.

  • I know to a lot of people who did not wear them even as kids in the 80's they look very new. I hate them because I remember them as part of "Gawd we really wore that" youth. Same as when we thought big 80's hair was great and my mom (good call mom!) thought it was hideous because it reminded her of 50's/early 60's hir only with less control/polish.

Not to thread jack, but please, please if you are thinking about going for high waisted skinnies (I mean 80's high, not natural waist) that appear to be making a horrific comeback I beg you to reconsider. Colored or not. I am still shocked we wore those. I had some. Double yikes.

[QUOTE]I had Punky Brewster shoes.  I also had one of those viewing things where you would put in a disc and click it and it would advance (like a REALLY old version of Powerpoint) that was a Punky Brewster story. I loved that show.

    A Viewmaster! I loved those things.<div>
</div><div>My mom made all my sets of Jams and long baseball shirts. I got to pick out the fabric. </div><div>
</div><div>And our lab manager wears Girbaud's every day. Like the ones from the late 80's early 90s. I think they are pairs he has been wearing since then. It makes me giggle. BUT, the do create ass on men where no ass previously existed, so that is a plus for some guys. Sadly, our lab manager doesn't need this help so he just looks a bit funny. </div>

And the color changing shirts.. like when they got hot or wet or something. I loved those damned things. <div>
</div><div>I saw a man with tapered jeans tight rolled at the ankles and penny loafers walking down the street the other day and I literally LOL'd. I can't believe people think that dressing like Zack Morris is hot again. </div>

<div>Thank you, thank you SereJane. I will sleep better tonight knowing that one person your age sees it my way. The late 30's plus crowd nealry all seems to shriek when we see them rearing their ugly head again, but only the teen and 20 somethings can save us from this catching on again.</div></div>
  • Styled right, yes.  Only with a cute shoe, absolutely no sneakers.  I'm not afraid of wearing colors.  I have been seen in light blue, kelly green, and light pink pants.  I really want lavender.
  • I think turquoise is a great way to try the trend without over-doing it.  I got red skinny jeans last year from UO, they have a bunch of colors.  I like it rolled up just a little above the ankle with wedges.

  • I love my  skinny colored jeans... they are stretchy and so comfy!  Yes they are a fad, but I love them, and I was hesitant to join the trend.  But, I jumped on board when I found a pair that I love, my tangerine ones!  I also have some blue (electric blue).  I even got my mom on board with a pair of turquoise ones!  I got mine at TJ Maxx and Marshals, my mom got F21.
PS- I like to pair my tangerine pants with a bright turquoise polo.  Bright colors make me happy.
