[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Have we talked about this? : So my FIL has this thing he does in Northern Wisconsin in the Cheymahogan (sp?) National Forest...he'll go out in the middle of the forest and howl and record how many wolves howl back.  Its supposedly a conservationist project.  I kinda thinks he's pulling my leg.

The sad thing, he was 32...but never could understand why he was single...Hmm I wonder why that could be?

My cousins tried to take me snipe hunting once. Except I had a really active imagination and started making up all of these scary stories about the twigs crackling in the woods and ended up scaring them so badly they ran away crying. I was sad we weren't going to find any snipes (because they ran away) and asked their dad if we could go out again the next day. They were grounded for 3 weeks :)
  • My FI and his friends took me "spotlighting" for deer.  Basically it consisted of driving to empty fields and then shining a light and counting how many pairs of eyes you caught in the light.  I guess the were scoping out hunting areas.  We all got out of the car and they pulled away from FI and I as if they were going to leave us there.  All it convinced me of was that they were douches.

Damn, I missed most of this thread :(

I agree with Blu, once I realized that what my ex and I were doing was dangerous and insane, it was so hard to leave but I wanted to change and get out of that situation.  Once I did, my life completely changed for the better.  :)  I learned so much about myself and became WAY stronger.

I never talk about it, I feel a little weird/AW-ish for posting this on here.  :P

Eminem is a genius, so glad I'm not the only one!  *shwhew*
  • It was hott, and it shouldn't be.
I liked the video, but I feel icky about it. Hot sex isn't worth being beaten. In fact, it can be achieved without domesic abuse.

What bothers me is that our culture closely associates sex and violence. I think viewing sex as a power thing is dangerous.

  • And now I just went and read the responses, and want to give everybody a hug. :(

<div>I agree and I suspect most reasonable folks will, and yet most major cultures in history have ended up with this sex=power dynamic. </div>

  • I think the video is poignant because it is a really accurate portrayal of the dynamics in that situation. I want more resolution though. I want her to get out of it.
I wish I hadn't watched it. It just dredges up stuff that I don't want to think about.

  • I do have to say that I never thought Domenic Monehyan (sp?) was that hot until this video.

But Im a sucker for a shaved head, a tank top, and tatoos.

  • He is one hot hobbit.

  • I thought he was hot since Lost.  But even then he was playing the bad boy, which I think he does really well.

Clearly since we all find him smoking hot despite the fact that he is insane in this video, lol.

Absolutely :).  I don't even remember him as a hobbit, but I totally can picture him as a twisted druggie. Fun in fantasy life, not so much in the real world.
