From what I saw on the news is that she didn't believe it was racist because in order for it to be racist it would have to have been sent with the thought of racism in her heart and when she sent it that is not what she had in her heart. It was something along those lines I believe.

This.  I tend to be more fiscally conservative, but socially liberal, so I'm registered as an independent.  I don't think either side is 100% and I refuse to be lumped in with either group because there are crazies in both parties.

I also tend to think that those ridiculously skewed polls probably have a very specific sample group in order to reflect the view that they want to.

I have to confess that I can understand a lot of people's complaints about Obama. I really can. I don't agree but I can see where they are coming from. The moment I hear someone talk about his birth certificate I shut down. It COMPLETELY changes how I listen to your views.

The second poll about interracial marriage is ridiculous, people will always have their personal opinions on things like this but why would Anyone want the government to be apart of it to say it's either legal or illegal? 

The first poll I'm not totally surprised with.  I despise Obama and he's supposed to be our voice so when so many U.S. citizens request documentation he should share it if he has it just to appease those who have elected him/have to support him.  It just shows how arrogant and self-righteous he is.  UGH I can't wait for 2012 elections.

I'd be really interested in what percentage of Mississippi Democrats think the same thing about interracial marriage. I wouldn't be surprised if it was about the same. I'm pretty sure there are still a lot of Dixiecrats around those parts.

And I agree with Rosie. People need to drop the birth certificate thing. There is no way for the debate to have a positive impact on our country whether he was born here or not.

Eye to eye, Rosie.  I honestly cannot take anything any "birther" says seriously.  That one ridiculously held belief completely undermines their credibility for me -- not to mention any faith I might otherwise have had in their critical thinking skills.  It's such an obvious red herring that I think you have to be seriously stupid to fall for it.
