The tellar looked at me like I had lost my mind, she seriously asked me why I didn't just keep it. She had to get the manager to take the money back.

I am totally giggling over this.
Props to you for taking it back

Dmills my grandma legit did that for decades, lol. My grandpa was a salesman and literally would not work unless he needed the money to pay bills. But my grandma was the one who controlled the checkbook and deposited all his checks, so little by little she pilfered his money away in places all over their house. When my mom and her sibs found out she'd saved about 150k in cold hard cash, literally, stuffed everywhere. Gramps had no idea, in fact he didn't find out until maybe 10 years ago. She thought he would be upset but he was actually pretty thrilled lol. Thankfully it's in the bank now.

My great aunt did the same thing. She didn't have nearly that much, but after she passed away, we found money everywhere.

What is that anyway? When I was in my 20's, I took my check to the bank, when I got back I counted it out and it was too much,I ran it back right then. No thank you, no kissmyass, no nothing.

kd, it's so sad that people are more surprised by giving back the extra, and that you didn't pocket their mistake.

If people actually knew how to count back money still, I suspect there would be a lot less instances of over-changing. Yes, my old lady panties are showing.

Well why does a BANK TELLER of all people tell you to keep it. She has to count down her till to the penny at the end. I just about kissed the feet of anyone who caught my mistake and brought me money back, I was so grateful. This is your job, have some Fing pride.

My favorite is when they can't figure out if it's not exact change. My lunch was $8.76 the other day so I gave the kid $10.01. He repeated my total because I guess he didn't know what to do with the penny. Instead of putting in the amount that I gave him, he laid the penny on the counter then tried to give me 1.24 and my penny back. I had to explain to him that I gave him the penny so I would get 1 coin back instead of 6 coins. The future is not looking so bright.

[QUOTE]Same with my grandpa. We found stacks of bonds, bills, and tubs of old silver dollars when he passed. My grandma made 4 trips to the bank because she was scared to carry all of it at once. My other grandma hoarded food. The upstairs of her house looked like a food bank. My mom would clean it out a few times a year. My grandma remembered the price and coupon of every can of food up there. And it was all organized so nicely. My cousin thought grandma had a grocery store at her house. Nowadays I guess we'd call her an extreme couponer.

Ugh, my H is so scared of when his mom goes. No one is allowed in her house, he hasnt been in it for over 10 years now and last time there were walls of paths.

It makes me wonder if they don't still have those little cut out coins in the back of 1st/2nd grade math books that you had to use to learn about counting money. Damn kids these days and their fancy computers...they don't know nuthin!

Good afternoon. I am pretty annoyed. FI's aunt called to inform him that if he leaves his cousins reception early tomorrow that there will be reprocussions. Seriously? What the hell are the reprocussions of this?

Um, Ben just told me that his bank had to call the cops today because some van was circling around the parking lot and the bank. It's sliding door was open with someone sitting there with a video camera. They are getting police escorts to their cars tonight and escorted into the bank in the morning. Whatthemotherfuckfuckingfuck.

And it's slow so I'll share another random. Last night I had a dream about Freddy Kruger. I woke up this morning and I have claw marks down my left cheek. Reason would say that my asshole cat jumped on my face last night, but a small little part of me kind of feels like a badass today because I survived Freddy Kruger.

I bought a microwave a while back and because it was the floor model, I recieved a 10% discount.

The poor girl ringing me up was like, "Could you please tell me what 10% of $78.00 is?"

I love Freddy vs. Jason. Freddy Kruger is probably the scariest thing on the planet. I've looked at my cheek in the mirror a bunch of times today trying to figure out if my cats claws spread out enough to leave that kind of gap. I know it's so stupid, but it's just weird that it would happen on the night that I actually had a dream about Freddy. In my dream, the last thing I remember is running through the woods and his hand coming down from a tree right in my face.

Dmill, I would have freaked the hell out. Logic goes out the window when you wake up after dreaming of Freddy to find claw marks on your face.

So if you had no brain to mouth filter (or brain to hands) - what would you love to say to someone?

Matty, that one require the missing filter and a winning lottery ticket for me. :)

I'd actually call the women out in the ladies room who only run their hands under the water for 2 seconds but don't use soap. I'd probably get my arse kicked 5 ways to Sunday if I had no filter and went to Walmart or Costco on a Saturday afternoon.
