Well, this is what happened. I put the review. A bunch of local knotties wrote similar things in the thread. An AE that was clearly the vendor came in and said it seemed like I hated all my vendors and just complain about them. I linked my other review for the AE--I gave all of my vendors terrific marks (I fucking loved my wedding, like whoa).  People called out AE and AE made some remarks. Another AE shows up. Then my review on Yelp had a comment from someone using the vendor's name. I shared that in the thread.  Thread disappeared.

KA PMed me a few days later, saying that reviews are helpful, but this is not a place to discuss vendors in depth or someshit. I need to loook at the PM again. It was lame. I Pmed her back, but she didn't respond.

Ah, just reread it again. She said that you're welcome to discuss your vendors, but this isn't the place to discuss serious issues/complaints about vendors.Which actually sucks, because once I wrote my review, a bunch of people came forward with similar complaints that they hadn't really discussed--had they posted, I never would have hired the vendor.

Wow Nates.  That actually seems completely ridiculous to me.  The local boards especially are a place for girls to find out which vendors are good and why.  Just because people joined in on your review and it escalated doesn't mean you can't warn people if your experience wasn't what you hoped. KA acts like we're weddingbee.

Wow.  I'd think that we'd be encouraged to be honest with vendor reviews here.   I mean, in SF, I think weddingbee was where to go to find vendors, not TK.  But to give up the opportunity to take up that role sounds short-sighted.

What killed me is that is was so obviously the vendor herself that came into the thread, yet I got threatened with banning. As if trolls haven't said a thousand times worse here, been banned, and been able to sign right back up again. That's the gist of what I PMed her back.

I got all my vendors from other people--I totally depended on other people and their reviews. Thank God, almost all of my vendors were amazing.

J, of course not.  I purposely worded the review in a calm fair way and just told the exact experience I had--no trashing at all--so that no one could take issue with it. And  really? after the troll issues we've had on the boards, my post needed a ban threat? C'mon.

Koda, I gave her an F, but you're right--I did say that she's talented. In the end, I loved my makeup, just not my hair and that's because we didn't have time to do it right.

I have found good luck with my local Craigslist, but I suppose that could differ per area.
